ON April 3, 1992, the Law of the PRC on the Protection of Rights and Interests of Women (Protection Law), the first basic law for protecting rights and interests of women and promoting equality between men and women in China, was adopted at the fifth session of the Seventh National People's Congress (NPC), and entered into force on October 1 of the same year.

甘肃省开展《甘肃省性别平等促进条例》立法调研

A team from the Committee for Internal and Judicial Affairs （CIJA）, under the Gansu Provincial People＇s Congress, visited Dingxi and Baiyin （cities in Gansu Province） on September 16, to monitor the cities＇ implementation of the Law of the People＇s Republic of China on the Protection of Women＇s Rights and Interests. The team was headed by Wang Lan, Deputy Director of the Office of C1JA. Officials fiom Gansu Women＇s Federation accompanied the team.

ACWF Starts a Hotline to Protect Women's Rights Marriage and the Family Are Callers' Biggest Concern 妇女维权热线开通婚姻家庭类问题居首位On July 18, 2005, the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) opened the 12338 Public Welfare Service Hotline to Protect Women's Rights and the 16838198 Anti-domestic Violence Hotline. Protecting Women＇s Legal Rights, Interests
The All-China Women＇s Federation （ACWF）, on January 3, 2014, held the symposium on Protecting Women＇s Legal Rights and Interests and Doing Practical Work to Benefit Women in Beijing. Shen Yueyue, Vice-Chairperson of the NPC （National People＇s Congress） Standing Committee and ACWF President, chaired the meeting. Song Xiuyan, Vice-President and First Member of the Secretariat of ACWF, several of ACWF＇s vice- presidents, and representatives of members of ACWF＇s standing committee and executive committee, attended.     

2014年“三八”妇女维权周活动在京举行

To promote the spirit of the 18th CPC （Communist Party of China） National Congress and the Third Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee, and to help women better understand the nation＇s laws, the All- China Women＇s Federation （ACWF）, the Office of the Central Committee for Comprehensive Management of Social Security, and China＇s Ministry of Justice on February 12 issued the notice that the 2014 Women＇s Rights- protection Week would be held in March.

Chinese Women's Forumon Employment Opens in Beijing中国妇女就业论坛在北京召开The Chinese Women's Forum on Employment was held on December 15, 2002 in Beijing. It was sponsored by the All-China Women's Federation and Chinese Women's Research Society. About 300 leaders, experts and scholars attended the forum. They discussed how to promote women's employment and the need to draft and improve policies regarding gender equality in the workforce.Discussions focused on ways of expanding employment opportunities for women, promoting professional development programs for both men and women, and ways of ensuring pay and benefits equity between men and women.

‘3 1 Mechanism’Project Completed “3 1机制”项目获得成功 With the support of the International Labor Organization (ILO), and implemented in accordance with the "3 1 mechanism" (the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, the All-China Federation of Trade Unions and the China Enterprise Confederation, plus the All-China Women's Federation), the project, aimed at enhancing gender mainstreaming capacity in China, was completed in April 2006.
