She denounced the prevalence of the violent behavior that was hidden in families and called upon the participants to strive for women's dignity and safety. The participants all recognized that domestic violence had become a global  相似文献

This is the final column in a three-part series on mentorship. In the previous two columns, we discussed how to get the most, as a mentee, from a partnership with a mentor, as well as the benefitsof mentoring others. The concepts shared are true everywhere, but in the fast-paced, highly dynamic environment in China, and in the work I do developing high-potential women in multinational organizations, understanding mentorship, and being able to network, learn and adapt to change is a necessity to thrive in the global economy.  相似文献

IN the early years of the Republic of China (1912-1949), a great upsurge to promote industry and commerce spread across the country. Women, who were used to doing spinning and weaving, became involved in this industrialization. In early 1912 women intellectuals wrote newspaper editorials advocating women to initiate industrial and commercial enterprises. They said that women were not suited to work in industries such as the railways, mines, and navigation, but were suited for work in spinning and textile mills, breeding silkworms, raising tea, and working in handicrafts factories. They hoped that women would pool their funds to set up business organizations, improve their lives and become economically independent.  相似文献

A 1995 questionnaire of women graduates of Beijing University indicated that more than half the graduates believe women work in order to gain self-reliance in person and economy; 36 percent of these students agreed that women work in order to show their power, make a contribution to society and realize their own value. The survey of 1,254 people was conducted by Beijing University's "Women's Issues Research Center."  相似文献
