Traditionally, most existing retail location models largely ignore the behavioral aspect of locational strategies. On the other hand, a few of the existing behavioral models of retail store choice are aspatial at best. This paper designs a multiobjective retail location decision model which not only considers the behavioral and spatial aspects of location scenarios, but also takes advantage of systematic sequential decision process. The model has been applied to solve ‘real-world-like’ fastfood restaurant location problems which were based on the actual data.  相似文献

In this paper we analyse the impact of both the number of immigrants and their human capital on the welfare of the host economy. We will show that in the presence of ‘social increasing returns’ in human and physical capital accumulation, arising from a labour market characterized by a costly search and by randomness of the matching technology, immigrants’ skill level may influence the investments in human capital of natives as well as the investments in physical capital. We will find that the immigrants’ human capital interacts with social increasing returns making them stronger or weaker according to the level of immigrants’ human capital relative to that of natives. If immigrants have a higher level of human capital, increasing returns are accelerated, while if immigrants’ human capital is lower, increasing returns are weakened if not reversed. The consequence of this behaviour is that in the first case immigration has a positive impact on native welfare and there is a positive interrelation between the skills of natives, the skills of immigrants and the firms’ level of physical capital. In the second case immigration may have a negative impact on the welfare of natives, on the skills of native workers and on the physical capital of firms.  相似文献

In this paper, an attempt is made to illustrate and validate some predictions of the ‘hypergame’ model of decision-making, a generalisation of the conventional game model as first described by von Neumann and Morgenstern. The hypergame concept, which can take players' differing perceptions, misperceptions and information conditions into account, is formally defined and two simple criteria of stability and choice are given. The core of the article consists of a case study involving decision-making under misperceptions. One result of the analysis is to show that decisions which at first sight appear ‘stupid’ and remain ‘irrational’ in a conventional game model, are indeed ‘rational’ if the players' perceptual limitations and their differing information conditions are considered. The conclusion is that the hypergame can be a useful extension of the traditional theory of games, and as such is one step on the way toward conceptually more complex and ‘realistic’ model building.  相似文献

This paper addresses methodological issues currently confronting the management science community. The urgency of these issues is evidenced by [1] the growing debate over the implementability of MS/OR (Management Science/Operational Research) models, [2] the absence of professional agreement on a ‘generalized’ theory of organizational structure and control and [3] the dearth of substantive contributions in the area of ‘policy’ analysis and modeling. It is argued that any resolution of these issues must address the management science process and that developments in cybernetics provide an integrating framework for this purpose. Aspects of this framework are presented by pointing out distinctions between the more traditional MS/OR approaches and the proposed cybernetic approach. Some of the concepts involved are not always associated with cybernetics, but the implications for the practice of management science are significant.  相似文献

This conceptual paper offers the convergence between two concepts now separated in the literature: the community of practice and the management model. The paper introduces the results of the theoretical research on the community of practice-based management model, the self-managing, human-friendly, knowledge sharing and innovativeness-supporting management model with high potential for the changeable environment. The research objective to analyse and explain the relationship between the concept of communities of practice and the management model is specified in two research questions: ‘How are the concepts of CoPs and management model connected in the community of practice-based management model?’ and ‘How do CoP-based management models work? What are their characteristics, advantages and disadvantages?’ The paper provides two examples of companies that combined both concepts in the community of practice-based management model and provides a discussion on the specifics of this unique model. The paper fills the research gap in the field of the theory of management – the community of practice-based management model, even though adopted by organisations in practice, still lacks adequate attention in the theoretical literature.  相似文献

This paper addresses the effects of corporate change programmes on the emotions and ultimately the performance of the so-called ‘middle managers’ within these organizations. Drawing on empirical data from a recent case study in a large engineering company, the paper addresses the extent to which Hochschild's highly original writing on the commercialization of human feeling (1983) and the concept of emotional labour is applicable to managers in today's organizations. Emotional labour is defined as: ‘the management of feeling to create a publicly observable facial and bodily display’ requiring one ‘to induce or suppress feeling in order to sustain the outward countenance that produces the proper state of mind in others’ (Hochschild 1983: 7). The conclusion reached is that emotional labour appears to be a growing but much ignored phenomenon in organizations today, which is worthy of attention and further research by the HRD community.  相似文献

The aim of this study is to develop a framework by drawing on three broad perspectives on resilience, engineering, ecological and evolutionary, and to use this framework to critically examine the approach adopted by the draft London climate change adaptation strategy. The central argument of the study is that the Strategy's emergency planning-centred approach to climate adaptation veers between a standard ecological understanding of resilience and the more rigid engineering model. Its emphasis is on identifying ‘exposure’ and ‘vulnerability’ to risk from climate events and on bouncing back from the consequences of such exposures to a normal state, rather than on the dynamic process of transformation to a more desirable trajectory. The study concludes that fostering resilience involves planning for not only recovery from shocks but also cultivating preparedness, and seeking potential transformative opportunities which emerge from change.  相似文献

基于营销道德理论和计划行为理论,以中国企业间购销关系为研究平台,以卖方为视角,检验了销售人员的道德判断、企业默许和销售人员的选择自由度对销售人员灰色营销行为倾向的影响,选择自由度对销售人员道德判断和灰色营销行为倾向之间,以及对企业默许和销售人员灰色营销行为倾向之间相关关系的调节作用。结果表明:①销售人员的不道德性评价会降低销售人员的灰色营销行为倾向;②企业默许会提高销售人员的灰色营销行为倾向;③销售人员感知的选择自由度不但会直接降低其灰色营销行为倾向,还会调节或强化销售人员对灰色营销的不道德性评价与灰色营销行为倾向之间以及企业默许与灰色营销行为倾向之间的相关关系。最后,讨论了研究结果的应用。  相似文献

基于社会交换理论和趋同理论等,构建问答社区知识传播者关注关系网络声望、传播者行动相似度和知识传播效果三者之间的相互作用关系,并通过含滞后项的联立方程组模型对上述关系进行实证分析,挖掘问答社区内知识传播的影响机制。研究表明:知识传播者关注关系网络声望和知识传播效果之间存在着相互促进作用;知识传播者的行动相似度对传播者关注关系网络声望有正向影响;知识传播环境特征和知识内容丰富度对知识的传播效果有正向影响;在特定话题下,知识内容丰富度在知识传播者关注关系网络声望对知识传播效果影响中起负向调节作用。  相似文献

本文在极值理论的POT模型基础上,建立了基于分维的POT幂律模型,给出了POT模型的阈值选择的理论解释,还给出了满足尾部分布适合幂律的条件.分析表明,此模型较已有方法能更方便地估计尾部参数,对小样本情形研究厚尾问题提供了新的思路.此外,为计算操作风险损失和的在险价值(VaR)问题,本文引入保险理论里的随机和模型,并给出了计算操作风险在险值的简化公式.  相似文献

利用实物期权博弈论等理论和方法,研究信息完全条件下有负债企业兼并的均衡价格和最优时机.通过对随机市场下企业兼并的动机、过程的微观机理的深入剖析,对影响兼并定价的主要因素进行分析,分别给出随机市场下有负债的"好企业"增资扩股的均衡条件和最优时机的解析式,以及对"一般企业"和"差企业"兼并的最优时机和均衡价格的解析式,并进行比较静态分析和数值模拟.研究结论与经验相符.  相似文献

This article theorizes about the kinds of knowing present in organizations that share both a structural similarity in the organization of work and work practices – a ‘double periphery’ in which a community of practitioners acts across both a horizontal, geographic periphery and a vertical, hierarchical periphery – and a common mode of practice – translating across these peripheral borders. In principle, these workers develop knowledge in interaction with clients and customers that could be valuable to the organization, were it but to learn from them. Instead, the ‘local knowledge’ they learn in acting across these peripheries is discounted, if not disparaged, by more centrally‐located managers and executives. The article theorizes about the nature of translating local knowledge concerning organizational practices and about the structural character of local versus ‘expert’ knowledge.  相似文献

Companies vary widely in their strategic management capabilities. Some still rely almost entirely on ‘fire-fighting’. Many others are slowly developing their capabilities but there are only a few which do give due attention to strategic issues and implement their decisions effectively. To be effective a corporate planner must assist this process of development of strategic ability and must adapt his role as the company's capability changes. 随着中国现代城市管理社区制的推行,由公共设施引发的社区冲突逐步凸显,其中,风险集聚类邻避设施成为引发社区冲突的主要诱因。邻避冲突事件演化过程的复杂性和随机扰动要求现有研究不应局限于确定环境下事件的分析,而应在更加真实的不确定环境下对冲突本身展开探讨。鉴于此,本文以演化博弈论为理论基础,引入高斯白噪声随机干扰项,构建风险集聚类邻避冲突事件中营建企业与周边民众两类群体的随机演化博弈模型,对比分析在无政府监管与政府监管情景下群体策略选择行为的随机演化过程,并利用Matlab进行数值仿真。研究发现:(1)无政府监管情景下,当营建企业采取强硬策略收益小于成本,且周边民众采取抗争策略成本大于收益时,(合作,妥协)是其演化均衡策略组合;营建企业与周边民众策略选择演化速度与初始策略选择概率密切相关。(2)政府监管情景下,当政府监管力度大于营建企业采取强硬策略收益与采取合作策略收益之差,且政府监管力度大于周边民众采取抗争策略收益与采取妥协策略收益之差时,(合作,妥协)是其唯一策略演化均衡点;政府监管力度对营建企业策略选择有显着影响,而对周边民众策略选择无显着影响。(3)随机因素对风险集聚类邻避冲突中营建...  相似文献

This paper aims to critique the process of corporate‐owned, high‐tech start‐up strategizing through an inductive, longitudinal, case study of ‘UK‐Research‐Tech’. Insights are given through the combined ‘dialectical–paradox’ concept, thereby focusing on where ‘dialectic’ and ‘paradox’ theorizing overlap. This linked iterative, ‘dialogical–dialectic’ research approach also reflects chief executive officer/top management team (CEO/TMT) start‐up dynamics over time. These foci fill important gaps that impede better understanding of dialectical, dialogical and paradoxical forces within strategic decision‐making. As an interpretative tool, they illuminate CEO/TMT strategizing and changing interrelationships affected by broader, volatile, techno‐economic contexts and parent‐company influences on ventures. In this case study, it was found that the CEO's relatively autocratic, parent‐framed approach combined with TMT members' contradictory reactions to create ‘dialectical–paradox’ oppositional forces, eventually only resolved through ‘eleventh hour’ business strategy changes to rescue the venture. This research contributes to more nuanced understandings of corporate‐constrained ventures during early business development from start‐up strategic decisions at parent‐company level to subsequent conditions of more independent dynamic equilibrium. The ‘dialectical–paradox’ conceptual lens contributes an innovative critique of processes affecting strategic decision‐making dynamics. Another important contribution is the empirically inspired conceptual model, developed for use both to guide subsequent case‐study research analyses and as a reflective tool for CEO/TMT strategic decision‐making, especially within corporate‐inspired start‐ups.  相似文献

In a recent article in this journal, Ahrne, Brunsson, and Seidl (2016) suggest a definition of organization as a ‘decided social order’ composed of five elements (membership, rules, hierarchies, monitoring, and sanctions) which rest on decisions. ‘Partial organization’ uses only one or a few of these decidable elements while ‘complete organization’ uses them all. Such decided orders may also occur outside formal organizations, as the authors observe. Although we appreciate the idea of improving our understanding of organization(s) in modern society, we believe that Ahrne, Brunsson, and Seidl's suggestion jeopardizes the concept of organization by blurring its specific meaning. As the authors already draw on the work of Niklas Luhmann, we propose taking this exploration a step further and the potential of systems theory more seriously. Organizational analysis would then be able to retain a distinctive notion of formal organization on the one hand while benefiting from an encompassing theory of modern society on the other. With this extended conceptual framework, we would expect to gain a deeper understanding of how organizations implement and shape different societal realms as well as mediate between their particular logics, and, not least, how they are related to non-organizational social forms (e.g. families).  相似文献

Urban management has been the subject of much ‘integrative’ discussion and analysis, both in this country and abroad. Indeed, as the author suggests in this paper ‘the feeling is that there is a danger that planners might take on too broad a field and try to do too much’. This paper examines the notions of the planner's role within a ‘political’ decision-making process and examines a number of different models indicating their relevance, complexity and feasibility. By concentrating upon the relationship of the theories of planning with the political decision-making environment within which they are enacted, the author draws usefully upon the relevant literature and provides a comprehensive, persuasive, intelligent and, comprehensive view of the relevance of some theories and the irrelevance of others. This paper walks the narrow tight rope between the fallacious separation of policy formulation from policy implementation, whilst at the same time recognizing the distinction between these two aspects of the decision-making process. The author postulates a number of propositions relevant to a planning process of an optimal nature and, although treating some of the theory in a somewhat superficial manner, the analysis provides a useful addition to the body of planning knowledge. This paper pieces together a number of existing elements of planning theory within a theoretical and conceptual framework. This is an important contribution to planning theory, since it does not suggest that the planning process is merely a collection of techniques, but that it is a complex system for recognizing, regulating and ultimately reconciling human values.  相似文献

以并购参与方所在供应链为研究视角,探讨了买方与多个供应商并购分析框架。首先,得出多种框架下并购前后各方所获利润,并数值模拟供应链环境变化对买方利润的影响;其次,在比较基础上给出供应链各方互动下的均衡。结果表明,并购交易的实施和供应链各方互动共同影响并购各方和其余各方所获利润,且互动削弱了并购产生的正向协同效应。本文给出了供应链各方互动下的并购分析框架,进一步完善了并购决策过程中的交易评估内容。  相似文献

Corporate planning is accepted by some as being an effective, efficient, and feasible means of charting the path an enterprise takes through the future. In this paper the author questions both the concept and the contribution of corporate planning. The author examines not only the problem of budgetary analysis within a planning process but also questions the ability of corporate planning to provide the necessary perspective of the future in any identifiable or probabilistic sense. The author postulates ‘the guts of corporate planning’. In the author's own word conceptual critiques ‘may be defined as setting up your own straw man in place of the other fellow's sawdust totem’. However, this paper presents some controversial yet fundamental criticisms of the current concepts of corporate planning. It is for the reader to judge whether the straw or the sawdust is deepest.  相似文献

The legitimacy and effectiveness of community engagement in planning lies in the extent to which the public can access the information required for informed decision-making. The control of ‘commercially sensitive material’ by local authorities acting as gatekeepers is a therefore a challenging area of information management within the planning application process. Through the analysis of key cases in England, this paper identifies that regulations do provide for ‘commercially sensitive material’ to be released to communities in many cases, but there is a need to achieve better transparency for communities about what information should be available about a development proposal.  相似文献
