ABSTRACT

Based on the tampered failure rate model under the adaptive Type-II progressively hybrid censoring data, we discuss the maximum likelihood estimators of the unknown parameters and acceleration factors in the general step-stress accelerated life tests in this paper. We also construct the exact and unique confidence interval for the extended Weibull shape parameter. In the numerical analysis, we describe the simulation procedures to obtain the adaptive Type-II progressively hybrid censoring data in the step-stress accelerated life tests and present an experimental data to illustrate the performance of the estimators.  相似文献

Inverse Gaussian distribution has been used widely as a model in analysing lifetime data. In this regard, estimation of parameters of two-parameter (IG2) and three-parameter inverse Gaussian (IG3) distributions based on complete and censored samples has been discussed in the literature. In this paper, we develop estimation methods based on progressively Type-II censored samples from IG3 distribution. In particular, we use the EM-algorithm, as well as some other numerical methods for determining the maximum-likelihood estimates (MLEs) of the parameters. The asymptotic variances and covariances of the MLEs from the EM-algorithm are derived by using the missing information principle. We also consider some simplified alternative estimators. The inferential methods developed are then illustrated with some numerical examples. We also discuss the interval estimation of the parameters based on the large-sample theory and examine the true coverage probabilities of these confidence intervals in case of small samples by means of Monte Carlo simulations.  相似文献

The Type-II progressive hybrid censoring scheme has received wide attention, but it has a disadvantage in that long time may be required to complete the life test. The generalized progressive Type-II hybrid censoring scheme has recently been proposed to solve this problem. Under the censoring scheme, the time on test does not exceed a predetermined time. In this paper, we propose a robust Bayesian approach based on a hierarchical structure when the generalized progressive Type-II hybrid censored sample has a two-parameter exponential distribution. For unknown parameters, marginal posterior distributions are provided in closed forms, and their statistical properties are discussed. To examine the robustness of the proposed method, Monte Carlo simulations are conducted and a real data set is analyzed. Further, the quality and adequacy of the proposed model are evaluated in an analysis based on the real data.  相似文献

This paper considers the design of accelerated life test (ALT) sampling plans under Type I progressive interval censoring with random removals. We assume that the lifetime of products follows a Weibull distribution. Two levels of constant stress higher than the use condition are used. The sample size and the acceptability constant that satisfy given levels of producer's risk and consumer's risk are found. In particular, the optimal stress level and the allocation proportion are obtained by minimizing the generalized asymptotic variance of the maximum likelihood estimators of the model parameters. Furthermore, for validation purposes, a Monte Carlo simulation is conducted to assess the true probability of acceptance for the derived sampling plans.  相似文献

The Maxwell (or Maxwell–Boltzmann) distribution was invented to solve the problems relating to physics and chemistry. It has also proved its strength of analysing the lifetime data. For this distribution, we consider point and interval estimation procedures in the presence of type-I progressively hybrid censored data. We obtain maximum likelihood estimator of the parameter and provide asymptotic and bootstrap confidence intervals of it. The Bayes estimates and Bayesian credible and highest posterior density intervals are obtained using inverted gamma prior. The expression of the expected number of failures in life testing experiment is also derived. The results are illustrated through the simulation study and analysis of a real data set is presented.  相似文献

In this paper, progressive-stress accelerated life tests are applied when the lifetime of a product under design stress follows the exponentiated distribution [G(x)]α. The baseline distribution, G(x), follows a general class of distributions which includes, among others, Weibull, compound Weibull, power function, Pareto, Gompertz, compound Gompertz, normal and logistic distributions. The scale parameter of G(x) satisfies the inverse power law and the cumulative exposure model holds for the effect of changing stress. A special case for an exponentiated exponential distribution has been discussed. Using type-II progressive hybrid censoring and MCMC algorithm, Bayes estimates of the unknown parameters based on symmetric and asymmetric loss functions are obtained and compared with the maximum likelihood estimates. Normal approximation and bootstrap confidence intervals for the unknown parameters are obtained and compared via a simulation study.  相似文献

This paper considers the estimation and prediction problems when lifetimes are Pareto-distributed and are collected under Type II progressive censoring with random removals, where the number of units removed at each failure time follows a Binomial distribution. The analysis is carried out within the Bayesian context.  相似文献

The aim of this article is to review existing goodness-of-fit tests for the exponential distribution under progressive Type-II censoring and to provide some new ideas and adjustments. In particular, we consider two-parameter exponentially distributed random variables and adapt the proposed test procedures to our scenario if necessary. Then, we compare their power by an extensive simulation study. Furthermore, we propose five new test procedures that provide reasonable alternatives to those already known.  相似文献

This paper investigates the design of accelerated life test (ALT) plans under progressive Type II interval censoring with random removals. Units’ lifetimes are assumed to follow a Weibull distribution, and the number of random removals at each inspection is assumed to follow a binomial distribution. The optimal ALT plans, which minimize the asymptotic variance of an estimated quantile at use condition, are determined. The expected duration of the test and the expected number of inspections on each stress level are calculated. A numerical study is conducted to investigate the properties of the derived ALT plans under different parameter values. For illustration purpose, a numerical example is also given.  相似文献

This paper presents methods of estimation of the parameters and acceleration factor for Nadarajah–Haghighi distribution based on constant-stress partially accelerated life tests. Based on progressive Type-II censoring, Maximum likelihood and Bayes estimates of the model parameters and acceleration factor are established, respectively. In addition, approximate confidence interval are constructed via asymptotic variance and covariance matrix, and Bayesian credible intervals are obtained based on importance sampling procedure. For comparison purpose, alternative bootstrap confidence intervals for unknown parameters and acceleration factor are also presented. Finally, extensive simulation studies are conducted for investigating the performance of the our results, and two data sets are analyzed to show the applicabilities of the proposed methods.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Recently Mondal and Kundu [Mondal S, Kundu D. A new two sample type-II progressive censoring scheme. Commun Stat Theory Methods. 2018. doi:10.1080/03610926.2018.1472781] introduced a Type-II progressive censoring scheme for two populations. In this article, we extend the above scheme for more than two populations. The aim of this paper is to study the statistical inference under the multi-sample Type-II progressive censoring scheme, when the underlying distributions are exponential. We derive the maximum likelihood estimators (MLEs) of the unknown parameters when they exist and find out their exact distributions. The stochastic monotonicity of the MLEs has been established and this property can be used to construct exact confidence intervals of the parameters via pivoting the cumulative distribution functions of the MLEs. The distributional properties of the ordered failure times are also obtained. The Bayesian analysis of the unknown model parameters has been provided. The performances of the different methods have been examined by extensive Monte Carlo simulations. We analyse two data sets for illustrative purposes.  相似文献

The paper considers the case of constant-stress partially accelerated life testing (CSPALT) when two stress levels are involved under type-I censoring. The lifetimes of test items are assumed to follow a two-parameter Pareto lifetime distribution. Maximum-likelihood method is used to estimate the parameters of CSPALT model. Confidence intervals for the model parameters are constructed. Optimum CSPALT plans that determine the best choice of the proportion of test units allocated to each stress are developed. Such optimum test plans minimize the generalized asymptotic variance of the maximum-likelihood estimators of the model parameters. For illustration, Monte Carlo simulation studies are presented.  相似文献

Adaptive Type-II progressive censoring schemes have been shown to be useful in striking a balance between statistical estimation efficiency and the time spent on a life-testing experiment. In this article, some general statistical properties of an adaptive Type-II progressive censoring scheme are first investigated. A bias correction procedure is proposed to reduce the bias of the maximum likelihood estimators (MLEs). We then focus on the extreme value distributed lifetimes and derive the Fisher information matrix for the MLEs based on these properties. Four different approaches are proposed to construct confidence intervals for the parameters of the extreme value distribution. Performance of these methods is compared through an extensive Monte Carlo simulation.  相似文献

In this paper, we revisit the progressive Type-I censoring scheme as it has originally been introduced by Cohen [Progressively censored samples in life testing. Technometrics. 1963;5(3):327–339]. In fact, original progressive Type-I censoring proceeds as progressive Type-II censoring but with fixed censoring times instead of failure time based censoring times. Apparently, a time truncation has been added to this censoring scheme by interpreting the final censoring time as a termination time. Therefore, not much work has been done on Cohens's original progressive censoring scheme with fixed censoring times. Thus, we discuss distributional results for this scheme and establish exact distributional results in likelihood inference for exponentially distributed lifetimes. In particular, we obtain the exact distribution of the maximum likelihood estimator (MLE). Further, the stochastic monotonicity of the MLE is verified in order to construct exact confidence intervals for both the scale parameter and the reliability.  相似文献

For the complete sample and the right Type II censored sample, Chen [Joint confidence region for the parameters of Pareto distribution. Metrika 44 (1996), pp. 191–197] proposed the interval estimation of the parameter θ and the joint confidence region of the two parameters of Pareto distribution. This paper proposed two methods to construct the confidence region of the two parameters of the Pareto distribution for the progressive Type II censored sample. A simulation study comparing the performance of the two methods is done and concludes that Method 1 is superior to Method 2 by obtaining a smaller confidence area. The interval estimation of parameter ν is also given under progressive Type II censoring. In addition, the predictive intervals of the future observation and the ratio of the two future consecutive failure times based on the progressive Type II censored sample are also proposed. Finally, one example is given to illustrate all interval estimations in this paper.  相似文献

A generalized Type-I progressive hybrid censoring scheme was proposed recently to overcome the limitations of the progressive hybrid censoring scheme. In this article, we provide a robust Bayesian method to estimate the unknown parameters of the two-parameter exponential distribution of a generalized Type-I progressive hybrid censored sample. For each parameter, we derive the marginal posterior density functions and the corresponding Bayesian estimators under the squared error loss function. To assess the proposed method, Monte Carlo simulations are performed using a real dataset.  相似文献

We consider best linear equivariant estimation in a particular location-scale family based on several progressively type II censored samples. The censoring schemes that minimize the mean squared error matrix of the estimators with respect to the Löwner ordering are obtained. Uniqueness of the schemes, which minimize the smallest and the largest eigenvalue of the matrix is shown under some condition.  相似文献

The bathtub-shaped failure rate function has been used for modeling the life spans of a number of electronic and mechanical products, as well as for modeling the life spans of humans, especially when some of the data are censored. This article addresses robust methods for the estimation of unknown parameters in a two-parameter distribution with a bathtub-shaped failure rate function based on progressive Type-II censored samples. Here, a class of flexible priors is considered by using the hierarchical structure of a conjugate prior distribution, and corresponding posterior distributions are obtained in a closed-form. Then, based on the square error loss function, Bayes estimators of unknown parameters are derived, which depend on hyperparameters as parameters of the conjugate prior. In order to eliminate the hyperparameters, hierarchical Bayesian estimation methods are proposed, and these proposed estimators are compared to one another based on the mean squared error, through Monte Carlo simulations for various progressively Type-II censoring schemes. Finally, a real dataset is presented for the purpose of illustration.  相似文献

In this paper, step partially accelerated life tests are considered when the lifetime of an item under use condition follows a finite mixture of distributions. The analysis is performed when each of the components follows a general class of distributions, which includes, among others, the Weibull, compound Weibull (or three-parameter Burr type XII), power function, Gompertz and compound Gompertz distributions. Based on type-I censoring, the maximum likelihood estimates (MLEs) of the mixing proportions, scale parameters and acceleration factor are obtained. Special attention is paid to a mixture of two exponential components. Simulation results are obtained to study the precision of MLEs.  相似文献
