For the first time, we introduce a generalized form of the exponentiated generalized gamma distribution [Cordeiro et al. The exponentiated generalized gamma distribution with application to lifetime data, J. Statist. Comput. Simul. 81 (2011), pp. 827–842.] that is the baseline for the log-exponentiated generalized gamma regression model. The new distribution can accommodate increasing, decreasing, bathtub- and unimodal-shaped hazard functions. A second advantage is that it includes classical distributions reported in the lifetime literature as special cases. We obtain explicit expressions for the moments of the baseline distribution of the new regression model. The proposed model can be applied to censored data since it includes as sub-models several widely known regression models. It therefore can be used more effectively in the analysis of survival data. We obtain maximum likelihood estimates for the model parameters by considering censored data. We show that our extended regression model is very useful by means of two applications to real data.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The log-logistic distribution is commonly used to model lifetime data. We propose a wider distribution, named the exponentiated log-logistic geometric distribution, based on a double activation approach. We obtain the quantile function, ordinary moments, and generating function. The method of maximum likelihood is used to estimate the model parameters. We propose a new extended regression model based on the logarithm of the exponentiated log-logistic geometric distribution. This regression model can be very useful in the analysis of real data and could provide better fits than other special regression models. The potentiality of the new models is illustrated by means of two applications to real lifetime data sets.  相似文献

We introduce a new class of heteroscedastic log-exponentiated Weibull (LEW) regression models. The class of regression models can be applied to censored data and be used more effectively in survival analysis. Maximum likelihood estimation of the model parameters with censored data as well as influence diagnostics for the new regression model is investigated. For different parameter settings, sample sizes and censoring percentages, various simulation studies are performed and compared to the performance of the heteroscedastic LEW regression model. The normal curvatures for studying local influence are derived under various perturbation schemes. An empirical application to a real data set is provided to illustrate the usefulness of the new class of heteroscedastic regression models.  相似文献

For the first time, we propose a five-parameter lifetime model called the McDonald Weibull distribution to extend the Weibull, exponentiated Weibull, beta Weibull and Kumaraswamy Weibull distributions, among several other models. We obtain explicit expressions for the ordinary moments, quantile and generating functions, mean deviations and moments of the order statistics. We use the method of maximum likelihood to fit the new distribution and determine the observed information matrix. We define the log-McDonald Weibull regression model for censored data. The potentiality of the new model is illustrated by means of two real data sets.  相似文献

We propose a four-parameter extended generalized gamma model, which includes as special cases some important distributions and it is very useful for modeling lifetime data. A advantage is that it can represent the error distribution for a new heteroscedastic log-odd log-logistic generalized gamma regression model. The proposed heteroscedastic regression model can be used more effectively in the analysis of survival data since it includes as special models several widely-known regression models. Further, for different parameter settings, sample sizes and censoring percentages, various simulations are performed. Overall, the new regression model is very useful to the analysis of real data.  相似文献

In this article, we investigate the potential usefulness of the three-parameter transmuted generalized exponential distribution for analyzing lifetime data. We compare it with various generalizations of the two-parameter exponential distribution using maximum likelihood estimation. Some mathematical properties of the new extended model including expressions for the quantile and moments are investigated. We propose a location-scale regression model, based on the log-transmuted generalized exponential distribution. Two applications with real data are given to illustrate the proposed family of lifetime distributions.  相似文献

The generalized Rayleigh (GR) distribution [V.G. Vodǎ, Inferential procedures on a generalized Rayleigh variate, I, Appl. Math. 21 (1976), pp. 395–412; V.G. Vodǎ, Inferential procedures on a generalized Rayleigh variate, II, Appl. Math. 21 (1976), pp. 413–419] has been applied in several areas such as health, agriculture, biology and other sciences. For the first time, we propose the Kumaraswamy GR (KwGR) distribution for analysing lifetime data. The new density function can be expressed as a mixture of GR density functions. Explicit formulae are derived for some of its statistical quantities. The density function of the order statistics can be expressed as a mixture of GR density functions. We also propose a linear log-KwGR regression model for analysing data with real support to extend some known regression models. The estimation of parameters is approached by maximum likelihood. The importance of the new models is illustrated in two real data sets.  相似文献

Generalizing lifetime distributions is always precious for applied statisticians. In this paper, we introduce a new four-parameter generalization of the exponentiated power Lindley (EPL) distribution, called the exponentiated power Lindley geometric (EPLG) distribution, obtained by compounding EPL and geometric distributions. The new distribution arises in a latent complementary risks scenario, in which the lifetime associated with a particular risk is not observable; rather, we observe only the maximum lifetime value among all risks. The distribution exhibits decreasing, increasing, unimodal and bathtub-shaped hazard rate functions, depending on its parameters. It contains several lifetime distributions as particular cases: EPL, new generalized Lindley, generalized Lindley, power Lindley and Lindley geometric distributions. We derive several properties of the new distribution such as closed-form expressions for the density, cumulative distribution function, survival function, hazard rate function, the rth raw moment, and also the moments of order statistics. Moreover, we discuss maximum likelihood estimation and provide formulas for the elements of the Fisher information matrix. Simulation studies are also provided. Finally, two real data applications are given for showing the flexibility and potentiality of the new distribution.  相似文献

This article introduces a new generalization of the transmuted Weibull distribution introduced by Aryal and Tsokos in 2011. We refer to the new distribution as exponentiated transmuted Weibull geometric (ETWG) distribution. The new model contains 22 lifetime distributions as special cases such as the exponentiated Weibull geometric, complementary Weibull geometric, exponentiated transmuted Weibull, exponentiated Weibull, and Weibull distributions, among others. The properties of the new model are discussed and the maximum likelihood estimation is used to evaluate the parameters. Explicit expressions are derived for the moments and examine the order statistics. To examine the performance of our new model in fitting several data we use two real sets of data, censored and uncensored, and then compare the fitting of the new model with some nested and nonnested models, which provides the best fit to all of the data. A simulation has been performed to assess the behavior of the maximum likelihood estimates of the parameters under the finite samples. This model is capable of modeling various shapes of aging and failure criteria.  相似文献

In this paper, we proposed a new family of distributions namely exponentiated exponential–geometric (E2G) distribution. The E2G distribution is a straightforwardly generalization of the exponential–geometric (EG) distribution proposed by Adamidis and Loukas [A lifetime distribution with decreasing failure rate, Statist. Probab. Lett. 39 (1998), pp. 35–42], which accommodates increasing, decreasing and unimodal hazard functions. It arises on a latent competing risk scenarios, where the lifetime associated with a particular risk is not observable but only the minimum lifetime value among all risks. The properties of the proposed distribution are discussed, including a formal proof of its probability density function and explicit algebraic formulas for its survival and hazard functions, moments, rth moment of the ith order statistic, mean residual lifetime and modal value. Maximum-likelihood inference is implemented straightforwardly. From a mis-specification simulation study performed in order to assess the extent of the mis-specification errors when testing the EG distribution against the E2G, and we observed that it is usually possible to discriminate between both distributions even for moderate samples with presence of censoring. The practical importance of the new distribution was demonstrated in three applications where we compare the E2G distribution with several lifetime distributions.  相似文献

Discrete lifetime data are very common in engineering and medical researches. In many cases the lifetime is censored at a random or predetermined time and we do not know the complete survival time. There are many situations that the lifetime variable could be dependent on the time of censoring. In this paper we propose the dependent right censoring scheme in discrete setup when the lifetime and censoring variables have a bivariate geometric distribution. We obtain the maximum likelihood estimators of the unknown parameters with their risks in closed forms. The Bayes estimators as well as the constrained Bayes estimates of the unknown parameters under the squared error loss function are also obtained. We considered an extension to the case where covariates are present along with the data. Finally we provided a simulation study and an illustrative example with a real data.  相似文献

According to Ross, any system can be represented either as a series arrangement of parallel structures or as a parallel arrangement of series structures. Motivated by this, we propose new three-parameter lifetime distributions by compounding geometric, power series, and exponential distributions. The distributions can allow for decreasing, increasing, bathtub-shaped, and upside down bathtub-shaped hazard rates. A mathematical treatment of the new distributions is provided including expressions for their density functions, Shannon and Rényi entropies, mean residual life functions, hazard rate functions, quantiles, and moments. The method of maximum likelihood is used for estimating parameters. Five of the new distributions are studied in detail. Finally, two illustrative data examples and a sensitivity analysis are presented.  相似文献

We introduce a new class of distributions called the Weibull Marshall–Olkin-G family. We obtain some of its mathematical properties. The special models of this family provide bathtub-shaped, decreasing-increasing, increasing-decreasing-increasing, decreasing-increasing-decreasing, monotone, unimodal and bimodal hazard functions. The maximum likelihood method is adopted for estimating the model parameters. We assess the performance of the maximum likelihood estimators by means of two simulation studies. We also propose a new family of linear regression models for censored and uncensored data. The flexibility and importance of the proposed models are illustrated by means of three real data sets.  相似文献

In this paper, the researchers attempt to introduce a new generalization of the Weibull-geometric distribution. The failure rate function of the new model is found to be increasing, decreasing, upside-down bathtub, and bathtub-shaped. The researchers obtained the new model by compounding Weibull distribution and discrete generalized exponential distribution of a second type, which is a generalization of the geometric distribution. The new introduced model contains some previously known lifetime distributions as well as a new one. Some basic distributional properties and moments of the new model are discussed. Estimation of the parameters is illustrated and the model with two known real data sets is examined.  相似文献

In this article, we investigate the potential usefulness of the three-parameter transmuted Weibull distribution for modeling survival data. The main advantage of this distribution is that it has increasing, decreasing or constant instantaneous failure rate depending on the shape parameter and the new transmuting parameter. We obtain several mathematical properties of the transmuted Weibull distribution such as the expressions for the quantile function, moments, geometric mean, harmonic mean, Shannon, Rényi and q-entropies, mean deviations, Bonferroni and Lorenz curves, and the moments of order statistics. We propose a location-scale regression model based on the log-transmuted Weibull distribution for modeling lifetime data. Applications to two real datasets are given to illustrate the flexibility and potentiality of the transmuted Weibull family of lifetime distributions.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a new three-parameter model called the exponential–Weibull distribution, which includes as special models some widely known lifetime distributions. Some mathematical properties of the proposed distribution are investigated. We derive four explicit expressions for the generalized ordinary moments and a general formula for the incomplete moments based on infinite sums of Meijer's G functions. We also obtain explicit expressions for the generating function and mean deviations. We estimate the model parameters by maximum likelihood and determine the observed information matrix. Some simulations are run to assess the performance of the maximum likelihood estimators. The flexibility of the new distribution is illustrated by means of an application to real data.  相似文献

We study a new family of continuous distributions with two extra shape parameters called the Burr generalized family of distributions. We investigate the shapes of the density and hazard rate function. We derive explicit expressions for some of its mathematical quantities. The estimation of the model parameters is performed by maximum likelihood. We prove the flexibility of the new family by means of applications to two real data sets. Furthermore, we propose a new extended regression model based on the logarithm of the Burr generalized distribution. This model can be very useful to the analysis of real data and provide more realistic fits than other special regression models.  相似文献

The interval-censored survival data appear very frequently, where the event of interest is not observed exactly but it is only known to occur within some time interval. In this paper, we propose a location-scale regression model based on the log-generalized gamma distribution for modelling interval-censored data. We shall be concerned only with parametric forms. The proposed model for interval-censored data represents a parametric family of models that has, as special submodels, other regression models which are broadly used in lifetime data analysis. Assuming interval-censored data, we consider a frequentist analysis, a Jackknife estimator and a non-parametric bootstrap for the model parameters. We derive the appropriate matrices for assessing local influence on the parameter estimates under different perturbation schemes and present some techniques to perform global influence.  相似文献

We define two new lifetime models called the odd log-logistic Lindley (OLL-L) and odd log-logistic Lindley Poisson (OLL-LP) distributions with various hazard rate shapes such as increasing, decreasing, upside-down bathtub, and bathtub. Various structural properties are derived. Certain characterizations of OLL-L distribution are presented. The maximum likelihood estimators of the unknown parameters are obtained. We propose a flexible cure rate survival model by assuming that the number of competing causes of the event of interest has a Poisson distribution and the time to event has an OLL-L distribution. The applicability of the new models is illustrated by means real datasets.  相似文献
