Professor Zhai Zhenwu, born in February 1954, is now a member of the National Population and Family Planning Committee of Experts and Director of the Demography Institute under the Key Research Institutes of Humanities and Social Science of the Ministry of Education. Besides, as a doctoral supervisor and one of the academic leaders in China＇s population studies, he now serves as the Dean of the School of Sociology and Population Studies and the Director of the Population and Development Research Center in Renmin University of China. Moreover, he is also the Chairman of Beijing Population Society and Executive Vice Chairman of China Population Society. Right now, he is devoted to demography and the study of population, resources and environmental economics.

Guo Zhigang, male, Han nationality, was born in October 1954 in Beijing. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Department of Industrial Economics and Management of Renmin University of China in 1982; master’s degree in Department of Sociology of University of Western Ontario in Canada in 1985; and doctor’s degree in Population Research Institute of Renmin University of China in 1990.
