We deal with the double sampling plans by variables proposed by Bowker and Goode (Sampling Inspection by Variables, McGraw–Hill, New York, 1952) when the standard deviation is unknown. Using the procedure for the calculation of the OC given by Krumbholz and Rohr (Allg. Stat. Arch. 90:233–251, 2006), we present an optimization algorithm allowing to determine the ASN Minimax plan. This plan, among all double plans satisfying the classical two-point-condition on the OC, has the minimal ASN maximum.  相似文献

This paper demonstrates the use of maxima nomination sampling (MNS) technique in design and evaluation of single AQL, LTPD, and EQL acceptance sampling plans for attributes. We exploit the effect of sample size and acceptance number on the performance of our proposed MNS plans using operating characteristic (OC) curve. Among other results, we show that MNS acceptance sampling plans with smaller sample size and bigger acceptance number perform better than commonly used acceptance sampling plans for attributes based on simple random sampling (SRS) technique. Indeed, MNS acceptance sampling plans result in OC curves which, compared to their SRS counterparts, are much closer to the ideal OC curve. A computer program is designed which can be used to specify the optimum MNS acceptance sampling plan and to show, visually, how the shape of the OC curve changes when parameters of the acceptance sampling plan vary. Theoretical results and numerical evaluations are given.  相似文献

We deal with single sampling by variables with two-way-protection in case of normally distributed characteristics with unknown variance. Givenp 1(AQL),p 2 (LQ) and α, β (risks of errors of the first and the second kind), there are two well-known methods of determining the corresponding sampling plans. Both methods are based on an approximation of the OC. Therefore these plans are only approximations, the true risks α and β are not known exactly. In section II we present a new sampling scheme based on an estimatorp for the percent defectivep. We give an exact formula for the OC. Thus we are able to determine these plans exactly without any approximations.  相似文献

The design of double acceptance sampling (AS) plans for attributes based on the operating characteristic curve paradigm is usually addressed by enumeration algorithms. These AS plans may be non optimal regarding the sample size to inspect as they were obtained without the requirement that the constraints at the OC curve controlled points are not violated for minimum Average Sample Number (ASN) scenarios. An approach based on mathematical programming is proposed to systematically design double AS plans for attributes, where the characteristics controlled are modelled by binomial or Poisson distributions. Specifically, Mixed Integer Nonlinear Programming (MINLP) formulations are developed and combined with an enumeration algorithm that allows finding ASN minimax optimal plans. A theoretical result is developed with the purpose of assuring the global optimum design is reached by iteration where a convenient solver is used to find local optima. To validate the algorithm, we compare our results with those of tables commonly used for practical purposes, consider different rates of risk, and setups commonly used in Lot Quality Assurance Plans (LQAS) for health monitoring programmes. Finally, we compare AS plans determined for processes described by binomial and Poisson distributions.  相似文献

In this paper, a new mixed sampling plan based on the process capability index (PCI) Cpk is proposed and the resultant plan is called mixed variable lot-size chain sampling plan (ChSP). The proposed mixed plan comprises of both attribute and variables inspections. The variable lot-size sampling plan can be used for inspection of attribute quality characteristics and for the inspection of measurable quality characteristics, the variables ChSP based on PCI will be used. We have considered both symmetric and asymmetric fraction non conforming cases for the variables ChSP. Tables are developed for determining the optimal parameters of the proposed mixed plan based on two points on the operating characteristic (OC) approach. In order to construct the tables, the problem is formulated as a non linear programming where the average sample number function is considered as an objective function to be minimized and the lot acceptance probabilities at acceptable quality level and limiting quality level under the OC curve are considered as constraints. The practical implementation of the proposed mixed sampling plan is explained with an illustrative real time example. Advantages of the proposed sampling plan are also discussed in terms of comparison with other existing sampling plans.  相似文献

In this paper we shall deal with the acceptance sampling plans when the remainder of rejected lots is inspected. We shall consider two types of LTPD plans- for inspection by variables and for inspection by variables and attributes (all items from the sample are inspected by variables, remainder of rejected lots is inspected by attributes). We shall report on an algorithm allowing the calculation of these plans when the non-central t distribution is used for the operating characteristic. The calculation is considerably difficult, algorithm for non-central t distribution takes several minutes. For the calculation we shall use an original method.  相似文献

The effect of serial correlation on acceptance sampling plans by variables has been examined in this paper assuming the quality measurements follow an AR(p) process. The effect of serial correlation can be examined by comparing OC curves, sample size and producer's risks, ∝, with that of the independent case when the process standard deviation, σ, is known. When σ is unknown and for large n, sampling plans can be constructed using the central limit theorem. However, for σ unknown and for small n, there is no satisfactory method of obtaining sampling plans.  相似文献

We deal sith sampling by variables with two-way-protection in the case of aN(μσ2) distributed characteristic with unknown σ2. For the sampling plan by Lieberman and Resnikoff (1955), which is based on the MVU estimator of the percent defective, we prove a formula for the OC. If the sampling parametersp 1 (AQL),p 2 (LQ) and α, β (type I, II errors) are given, we are able to compute the true type I and II errors of the usual (one-sided) approximation plans. Furthermore it is possible to compute exact two-sided Lieberman-Resnikoff sampling plans.  相似文献

A common approach to the design of an acceptance sampling plan is to require that the operating characteristic (OC) curve should pass through two designated points that would fix the curve in accordance with a desired degree of discrimination. This paper presents a search procedure for the selection of double sampling inspection plans of type DSP - (0, 1) for specified two points on the OC curve, namely acceptance quality limit, producer's risk, limiting quality and consumer's risk. Selection of the plans is discussed for both the cases of fraction non-conforming and the number of non-conformities per unit.  相似文献

Progressive censoring is quite useful in many practical situations where budget constraints are in place or there is a demand for rapid testing. Balasooriya & Saw (1998) present reliability sampling plans for the two-parameter exponential distribution, based on progressively censored samples. However, the operating characteristic (OC) curve derived in their paper does not depend on the sample size. This seems to be because, in their computations, they forget to consider the proportion of uncensored data, which also has an important influence on the subsequent developments. In consequence, their OC curve is only valid when there is no censoring. In this paper, some modifications are proposed. These are needed to obtain a proper design of the above sampling plan. Whenever at least two uncensored observations are available, the OC curve is derived in closed form and a procedure for determining progressively censored reliability sampling plans is also presented. Finally, the example considered by Balasooriya & Saw is used to illustrate the results developed in this paper for several censoring levels.  相似文献

This article outlines the structure of a generalized family of two-stage chain sampling plans, extending the concept of two-stage chain sampling plans of Dodge and Stephens (1966) which is an extension of the original work of Dodge (1955). Expressions are derived for the OC curves for two-stage chain sampling plans with (c1,c2) = (0,2) and (1,2). In the original work of Dodge (1955) only acceptance numbers of 0,1 were used and in the extension work of Dodge and Stephens (1966) acceptance numbers of (c1,c2) = (0,1), (0,2), (1,2), (0,3), (1,3), (0,4) and (1,4) were used with selected sets of values of k1 and k2 (the number of lots considered for cumulation in the first and second stage respectively). In this paper the OC curves are derived more generally for any k1 and k2combination for two-stage chain sampling plans with (c1,c2) = (0,2) and (1,2) and comparisons are made with respect to sample sizes and discriminating power, with the corresponding single and double sampling plans.  相似文献

X be a continuous quality characteristic, with one-sided lower specification limit, having either normal distribution with known σ or exponential distribution. We report on an algorithm allowing the calculation of the so-called ASN-Minimax plan. This plan has minimal maximal average sample size among all double sampling plans for variables that obey the classical two-points-condition on the operating characteristic. We give examples and tables of the ASN-Minimax plans in the normal as well as in the exponential case. Received: March 20, 2000; revised version: January 22, 2001  相似文献

Three tables for selection of single sampling plans with any one of the following combinations of entry parameters are givens.

1) the indifference quality level and the average outgoing quality limit.

2) the indifference quality level with relative slope of the OC curve at that quality leve land.

3) the quality level corresponding to the inflection point with relative slope of the OC curve at that quality level.

A table enabling the transition from one set of parameters to match the OC curve of other similar sets is also given.  相似文献

A simple method of analyzing the MIL-STD-105D double sampling plans by ‘normalizing the OC curve’ is presented. Among a set of competing double sampling plans, procedures are given to select a particular plan when costs are unknown. Necessary tables are constructed and examples given.  相似文献

We study variable sampling plans for exponential distributions based on type-I hybrid censored samples. For this problem, two sampling plans based on the non-failure sample proportion and the conditional maximum likelihood estimator are proposed by Chen et al. [J. Chen, W. Chou, H. Wu, and H. Zhou, Designing acceptance sampling schemes for life testing with mixed censoring, Naval Res. Logist. 51 (2004), pp. 597–612] and Lin et al. [C.-T. Lin, Y.-L. Huang, and N. Balakrishnan, Exact Bayesian variable sampling plans for the exponential distribution based on type-I and type-II censored samples, Commun. Statist. Simul. Comput. 37 (2008), pp. 1101–1116], respectively. From the theoretic decision point of view, the preceding two sampling plans are not optimal due to their decision functions not being the Bayes decision functions. In this article, we consider the decision theoretic approach, and the optimal Bayesian sampling plan based on sufficient statistics is derived under a general loss function. Furthermore, for the conjugate prior distribution, the closed-form formula of the Bayes decision rule can be obtained under either the linear or quadratic decision loss. The resulting Bayesian sampling plan has the minimum Bayes risk, and hence it is better than the sampling plans proposed by Chen et al. (2004) and Lin et al. (2008). Numerical comparisons are given and demonstrate that the performance of the proposed Bayesian sampling plan is superior to that of Chen et al. (2004) and Lin et al. (2008).  相似文献

Lin et al. [Exact Bayesian variable sampling plans for the exponential distribution with progressive hybrid censoring, J. Stat. Comput. Simul. 81 (2011), pp. 873–882] claimed to have derived exact Bayesian sampling plans for exponential distributions with progressive hybrid censoring. We comment on the accuracy of the design parameters of their proposed sampling plans and the associated Bayes risks given in tables of Lin et al. [Exact Bayesian variable sampling plans for the exponential distribution with progressive hybrid censoring, J. Stat. Comput. Simul. 81 (2011), pp. 873–882]. Counter-examples to their claim are provided.  相似文献

Sampling plans are a useful tool to decide whether large-size lots should be accepted or rejected. In this paper we introduce double sampling plans by variables for a normally distributed characteristic with known standard deviation and two-sided specification limits. These plans fulfill the classical two-points-condition on the operating characteristic (OC) and feature minimal maximal average sample number (ASN).  相似文献

Variable sampling plans to control fraction defective are obtained using the Inverse-Gaussian (IG) distribution. OC curves are obtained and impact of sample size and specification limits on these curves are discussed. Simulation studies are used to investigate sensitivity of the sampling plans under the more commonly used normal distribution.  相似文献

In this study, we propose three new sampling plans based on yield index CpuA for linear profiles with one-sided specifications, including the resubmitted sampling plan, the repetitive group sampling plan, and the multiple dependent state repetitive sampling plan. The operating characteristic functions of our proposed sampling plans are developed. The plan parameters of our proposed sampling plans are determined through nonlinear optimization. The plan parameters are reported for various combinations of acceptable quality level and limiting quality level. The three sampling plans are compared with the existing single sampling plan in terms of the average sample number. A real example is used to illustrate the applications.  相似文献
