Seminar on Employment and Development of Town Women

IN October 1994, the All-China Women's Federation held a seminar on the employment and development of town women in Shanghai, China's largest city. The seminar was also a preparatory meeting for the '95 NGO Forum on women's employment. Promoting Harmony within Families

The ACWF and the Chinese Women＇s Research Society （CWRS） held, in Beijing on October 30, a seminar on eradicating sexual harassment in universities. Tan Lin, Member of ACWF＇s Secretariat and Vice-President of CWRS, Gao Shawei, Director of ACWF＇s Legal Department, and Xu Tao, Director of the Teachers＇ Department of China＇s Ministry of Education, spoke during the event. More than 50 people -- including leaders and teachers from 22 universities （in various regions of China）, each of which has established a women and gender research and training base with ACWF and CWRS＇s help -- attended. During the seminar, many participants offeredsuggestions on how to curb and prevent sexual harassment.     

全国妇联召开健全农村留守儿童关爱服务体系专题研讨会

The seminar on improving the system used to care for rural left- behind children was held in January 2014 by the Department for Children, under the All-China Women＇s Federation （ACWF）. in Nanchong, a city in South China＇s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Various experts and the presidents and directors-general of the departments for children under the wonlen＇s federations of 14 provinces, autonomous regions or municipalities attended.

Looking Towards the 1995 World Women's Conference——the second international seminar on women's studies

Women's development is a process. It is also a process to await the Fourth World Conference on Women to be held in Beijing in 1995, a process to further mobilize women from various countries to gain equality between the sexes and to take a part in social development. The second international seminar on women's studies was held from November 23 to 26, 1993, at Beijing University in preparation for this day. Some 100 women researchers from Australia, Bangladesh', Canada, the United States, England, Malaysia and Japan, as well as Hong Kong and China participated in the event. It was one of the most lively and active seminars held during this process. To take prompt action in development was a common nderstanding of the participants.

RECENTLY, a special seminar on Lu Xiaofei's news works was held at the People's Daily, the most authoritative newspaper in China. The China Society for the Study of Marriage and Family （CSSMF） and zhenai.com, one of China＇s best-known matchmaking websites, on October 14 hosted the ceremony to launch the First Forum on Marriages and Families and the Projects of Improving Chinese Marriages and Family Relations. A seminar was held on April 28, 2010, in Beijing to mark the 60th anniversary （May 1, 1950） of the promulgation of the Marriage Law of the People＇s Republic of China. Chen Zhili, Vice- Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People＇s Congress and President of the All-ChJna Women＇s Federation, spoke about the significant role the Marriage Law has played in Chinese women＇s liberation.

Daring the conference, the committee summarized its work （related to women and children） during the past year, and it outlined its work plan for this year.

The All-China Women's Federation(ACWF)held an activity on November 28,2019,during which the federation released the list of China's Top 10 Women and Children's Rights-protection Cases,and to commend individuals and collectives,from different regions of the country,who distinguished themselves in the protection of women and children's legal rights and interests.The event was held in Beijing.Shen Yueyue,Vice-Chairperson of the NPC(National People's Congress)Standing Committee and President of ACWF,presented certificates to representatives of 996 collectives and 995 individuals.     

“贫困地区儿童营养改善项目妇联系统第二期培训班”开班

Officials from the Department for Children, under the All-China Women＇s Federation （ACWF）, and tile National Health and Family Planning Commission, on December 18, 2013, hosted the second round of training classes for the nutrition-improvement program lbr children in poverty-stricken areas. The classes were held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. The first round of classes was held in Wuhan, Hubei Province, in January 2013.     

Chinese and Foreign Students Debate Gender Equality

WITH the Fourth World Conference on Women drawing near, more and more people are showing a strong interest in women's issues. On April 12 the debate "Is the Equality Between Men and Women Impossible?" was held at Beijing Language and Culture University. Hundreds of students and teachers crowded into the 200-seat university theater where the debate was held. The debate consisted of two teams representing positive and negative sides     

Conference Discusses China's Changing Families

MARCH 26, 1994, a seminar titled "China's Traditional Culture and Changes in the Family" was convened at the Hong Kong International Conference Center. The seminar was co-sponsored by the Women's Institute of the All-China Women's Federation and the Hong Kong Women's Foundation.
