Dear Women of China,
I really enjoyed your article on how to be a happy, single Chinese woman on Valentine's Day. I'm not Chinese, but I still found the message in your article both encouraging and meaningful. It's great that you focused on emotional as well as physical health, and that you reminded people that being single on Valentine's Day can still be lots of fun.  相似文献

The red lanterns that line Dongzhimen Nei turn on each night about an hour before sun down, and they help mark the rebirth of Beijing's most celebrated dining experience: Gui Jie. Although it's known as "Ghost Street," because of the ghostly spectacle of the former grocery and night produce market, Gui Jie is one of the most alive after-dark places you can find in the city.  相似文献

On the Noodle Road: From Beijing to Rome with Love and Pasta is a delicious travelogue and memoir chronicling author Jen Lin-Liu's journey from China to Italy in search of an answer to the age-old question: Who invented noodles? Conventional wisdom has it that Marco Polo (1254-1324) took the noodle from China to Europe, across the Silk Road, dtucing the late 13th century. Lin-Liu, however, believes the noodle's origin, much like its preparation, is not so cut and dried.  相似文献

Over the last year, few places in Beijing have received as much hype as Wudaoying Hutong. Often referred to as the "next Nanluoguxiang" (a distinction that is either a blessing or a curse, depending on who you ask), the alley, stretching from Andingmen Gate to Yonghegong (Lama Temple), has become "the" place to watch for many Beijingers, particularly since new businesses seem to pop up there every week. Most of the new businesses include caf6s and tiny shops that peddle souvenirs, clothing and rustic home decor, almost all of which look as if they'd be at home at Nanluoguxiang. This implies that Wudaoying hasn't quite found its own identity yet,  相似文献

Dear Women of China, I've had the pleasure of having dinner with my Chinese girlfriend's family a few times in the past, but each time they urged me to drink lots of alcohol. I understand that it's their way of welcoming and encouraging me to feel comfortable around them, but I'm not very fond of drinking. However, every time I try to refuse a drink, they keep insisting that I drink anyway, until I give up trying to convince them. Now, I'm uneasy about having more dinners with them.  相似文献

Dear Women of China,
I'm interested in your magazine, but there's no way for me to get copies of it where I live. I see that your website has an electronic version of the magazine, but it's only one issue, it's a few months old, it's difficult to read (because you have to wait for the pages to enlarge), and you have to click on the pages to flip them back to the table of contents or reload the whole page. It's extremely aggravating and not at all easy for readers to use.  相似文献
