2013女性传媒大奖

Ten Chinese women were named ＂Models of the Year＂ during an annual awards ceremony on December 9, 2013, in Beijing. The Women Media Awards ceremony was sponsored by lady. 163.com and the UN Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women （UN- Women）. It was the first event of its kind in China, which has made a commitment to the promotion of gender equality and women＇s progress in various sectors.     

“我的第一个书包”公益活动在京启动

When the new semester started, 10,000 poverty- stricken, first-time pupils, from 128 schools in 14 provinces or municipalities, were given a meaningful present-- their first schoolbag. The program, entitled ＂My First Schoolbag,＂ was launched on September 1 in Beijing Zhiquan School, a facility for the children of migrant workers. The program was sponsored by the China Children and Teenager Fund （CCTF） and CapitaMalls Asia （China）. Some 10,000 schoolbags and stationery items were donated by CapitaMalls Asia （China）, through CCTF, to Grade 1 students, most of whom were left-behind children, poverty- stricken children or children of migrant workers attending schools in Beijing, Chongqing, or one of 12 provinces. Fan Jiying, Member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women＇s Federation （ACWF） and Vice-Chairperson of CCTF, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.

THE 42nd "Eureka" World Fair for Inventions was held during the winter of 1993 in Brussels. Twenty-five countries and regions exhibited 540 high-tech inventions. The exhibition was fiercely competitive, because only eight gold medal awards, the highest awards, would be given. Yet, at the awards ceremony, Liu Ziping of China heard her name called four times.

CCTF, Nestle Team Up to Improve Health of Newborns, Women
The China Children and Teenagers＇ Foundation （CCTF）, on April 22, 2014, received a donation of 30 million yuan （US $4.9 million） from Nestl6 China to fund a project aimed at improving the health of women and newborns in China. The donation was made in Beijing. The project, entitled ＂1,000 Days Action for Newborn and Maternal Health,＂ is intended to raise public awareness of the significance of the 1,000 days from conception to a child＇s second birthday, through various types of publicity and training. It is also intended to improve the nutrition of newborns and their mothers.     

关爱妇女健康提高服务水平

The ＂Mother An＇xin Project,＂ with the theme ＂Improve women＇s healthcare service,＂ was launched by China Women＇s Development Foundation in the Great Hall of the People, in Beijing, on March 22, 2010. Chert Zhili, Vice-Chairperson of the National People＇s Congress Standing Committee and President of the All-China Women＇s Federation （ACWF）, attended the ceremony. Song Xiuyan, Vice-President of the ACWF, delivered a speech during the ceremony. Huang Qingyi, President of China Women＇s Development Foundation （CWDF）, and Zhen Yan, Vice-President of the ACWF, Zhengli Jinfen, Chairwoman of Amway （China） Co. Ltd, attended.

“美丽中国爱心行”走进玉树 Led by Chen Xiaoxia, Secretary-General of the China Children and Teenagers＇ Foundation （CCTF）, a group from the foundation＇s ＂Love Travel in China＂ project began a two-day visit to Yushu Tibetan Prefecture, in northwestern China＇s Qinghai Province, on September 24, 2013. The prefecture was rocked by a 7.1-magnitude earthquake on April 14, 2010.

The conference to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Safe and Healthy Growth Project, or Ankang Project, was held on November 2 in the Great Hall of the People, in Beijing. Chen Zhili, Vice-Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People＇s Congress, President of the All-China Women＇s Federation （ACWF） and President of the China Children and Teenagers＇ Fund （CCTF）, delivered a speech at the event.     

Anhui Children Benefit from CCTF Charity Tour

The China Children and Teenagers＇ Fund （CCTF） organized a children＇s charity tour, in East China＇s Anhui Province, from October 26-29, 2014. According to the All-China Women＇s Federation （ACWF）, China has 61 million left-behind children, whose parents have left their hometowns to earn a better living in urban areas. To ensure the proper development of the left-behind children. ACWF and CCTF launched the ＂Safeguarding Childhood,Walking Together with Love＂ nationwide project on July 28, 2014. The project was announced ill Beijing.

Mme. Soong Ching Ling, the former honorable President of the State, was an outstanding woman who had great influence both at home and abroad. A statue of her recently was completed in her resident memorial hall in Shanghai. On October 25, 1994, people from all circles gathered for the unveiling ceremony. Shanghai was Mme. Women's Writing Competition Jointly Organized by Both Sides of the Taiwan Straits 海峡两岸联合举办女性征文竞赛A writing competition entitled "I am a new woman in China," jointly sponsored by the magazine "i" under Women of China (in Chinese) and the magazine "girl" under China Times (Taiwan), announced its results in Beijing on April 6. The grand award ceremony was held in the Great Hall of the People. Three of the 10 gold-prize winners and six of the 20 silver-prize winners were from the country's treasured island-Taiwan. Before the ceremony, Gu Xiulian, Vice-Chairperson of the NPC Standing Committee and President of the All-China Women's Federation, warmly greeted the winners from both sides of the Taiwan Straits.

Protecting Rural Women＇s Land-related Rights

The China Society for the Study of Marriage and Family （CSSMF） and zhenai.com, one of China＇s best-known matchmaking websites, on October 14 hosted the ceremony to launch the First Forum on Marriages and Families and the Projects of Improving Chinese Marriages and Family Relations. National Honor For Rural Women

NEWLY literate women are taking the lead in eliminating rural poverty through literacy. Ten of the nation's best newly literate women were selected by'the All-China Women's Federation to attend a grand prize awards ceremony held in Beijing on September 7, 1996, just before the World Anti-illiteracy Day. The All-China Women's Federation has set a goal of wiping out illiteracy
