A large-scale project, aimed at teaching parents how to raise healthy, well-adjusted children, has been implemented in various communities in Northeast China's Liaoning Province. More than one million parents have participated in the project in recent years. Federation Promotes Women＇s Handicrafts Brand for Charity

Mother＇s Art was established by Sichuan Women＇s Federation in October. The Mother＇s Art project is intended to spur development of the craft industry in Sichuan Province. Under the project, the women＇s federation provides financial assistance to underprivileged women, so they can acquire the skills needed to make crafts and, in turn, make money to care for their families. The project benefits women and children. Each woman who works in the province＇s craft industry, and each business that sells crafts made by the province＇s women, will join the project.

The purpose of the project is to help solve the problems children face in their lives, to promote children＇s development and to protect children＇s legal rights and interests.

1 Coring Seedlings' Project Launched“护苗工程”呵护亿万儿童A "Caring Seedlings" Project was launched in March in Beijing by the All-China Women's Federation to promote Chinese children's comprehensive de-velopment. The program focuses on nutrition, physical strength, psychological health and intellectual power. The China Children's Center was responsible for organizing and implementing the project.     

Sexual Equality, Contradictions Between Beliefs and Reality

"The Beijing Area Study" (BAS) is a large-scale social investigation and research project planned and implemented by the Beijing University Research Centre for Contemporary China together with the Beijing Municipal Government Policy Research Office. The purpose of the survey is to understand the attitudes of Beijing residents towards the changing social atmosphere under a market economy. It also includes some questions related to women's issues.This BAS survey questions people between the ages of 18 and 70, and is carried out once a year, in order to keep a current database.

CCTF, Nestle Team Up to Improve Health of Newborns, Women
The China Children and Teenagers＇ Foundation （CCTF）, on April 22, 2014, received a donation of 30 million yuan （US $4.9 million） from Nestl6 China to fund a project aimed at improving the health of women and newborns in China. The donation was made in Beijing. The project, entitled ＂1,000 Days Action for Newborn and Maternal Health,＂ is intended to raise public awareness of the significance of the 1,000 days from conception to a child＇s second birthday, through various types of publicity and training. It is also intended to improve the nutrition of newborns and their mothers.

Gillian Mellsop, UNICEF＇s Representative to China, visited a children＇s center in Yichang （a city in Central China＇s Hubei Province） on August 28, 2014. Campaign to Prevent Breast Cancer Launched in Beijing,Tianjin, Sichuan

To promote healthy living and to raise women＇s awareness of the importance of improving their health, the Women＇s Development Department of the All- China Women＇s Federation （ACWF） launched the long-distance-run campaign, entitled ＂running for health and beauty,＂ in late October. Anhui Children Benefit from CCTF Charity Tour

The China Children and Teenagers＇ Fund （CCTF） organized a children＇s charity tour, in East China＇s Anhui Province, from October 26-29, 2014.
