I'm delighted to write a column in Women of China English Monthly. Here, 1'11 share interesting findings, key insightsand real stories from the work I've been doing with thousands of competent professional women in China -- and around Asia. Given that it's the start of the calendar year, I want to shave a powerful exercise -- on reflection, to set you up for success in the coming year, and beyond. To start, grab a journal, and answer the following questions: What do you think your colleagues would say about you? What have been your key successes during the past year? What are the best practices you used to achieve those successes'?  相似文献

IN the mid- and late-1980s a debate was held in China concerning the issue of women's employment. It was a time when economic reform involved both the management and labor force of the country's state-rum enterprises. What the Chinese women in the workforce had experienced from the late 1980s to the early 1990s in many ways differed from our predictions about the debate. Perhaps we can make a closer analysis of the trend in Chinese women's employment by learning the differences. Both the employment rate and the population of Chinese women in urban and rural areas have steadily grown as the economy has developed. In 1982 the Chinese workforce was  相似文献

Dear Women of China,
I really enjoyed your article on how to be a happy, single Chinese woman on Valentine's Day. I'm not Chinese, but I still found the message in your article both encouraging and meaningful. It's great that you focused on emotional as well as physical health, and that you reminded people that being single on Valentine's Day can still be lots of fun.  相似文献

The Beijing silk figurine is a traditional Chinese handicraft. It originated in the Northern Song Dynasty and has been around for more than 1,000 years. It is called a silk figurine because all parts of the handicraft are made of highquality Chinese silk. The figurine comes in sizes ranging from 16-46 centimeters to suit many decorating tastes. If you look closely you will find that the head and hands are quite exquisite, and the clothes and ornaments are true to lire. The process of making a figurine includes dozens of steps, from sculpting to painting, sewing to doing inlay work. The subjects of Beijing silk figures are wide-ranging and come mostly from Chinese  相似文献

In the November 1993 issue of Woman of China, Chang Ying and Xiao Huan wrote a historical piece called "A Breakthrough in China's Feudal Tradition" translated by Liu Xiaohong. This was an excellent article. It is very important for women to know their history. The picture of the women students in France was wonderful: a picture is worth a thousand words: In two short pages I learned a great deal. But now there are many more things I want to know about the history of the education of women in China.  相似文献

Sexual Harassment, When No Means No hit home《性骚扰,女性不再沉默》令我深思What a great magazine! It is so good, well-written, and has great pictures. I liked the articles on sexual harassment. All the articles were interesting and I loved them! When I received your magazine, it made my day. I have been in and out of the hospital all summer. I have had a tough summer! Sexual Harassment, When No Means No hit home. I have been sexually harassed many times! From the time I was a teenager. On the job, I encountered the same thing. I kept quiet, because I felt no one would believe me. I never told anyone. My husband would say it was my fault. I hope I am not the only one out with this problem. I also love the pictures in your magazine. It gave me insight.Cindy White, USA  相似文献

Beijing Celebrates 10th Anniversary of the CWJA On March 20, more than 200 female journalists gathered in Beijing together to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Capital Women Journalists' Association. The celebration, ended with the establishment of a women's media supervision network. Since its founding in March 1986, the CWJA has accomplished a great deal in uniting as many female journalists as possible. The association has made great strides in developing socialist journalism, promoting exchanges between Chinese and foreign female journalists, reporting on the achievements of women from all walks of life, and safeguarding the legal rights of women. The CWJA membership has grown from the original 5,000 women from 60 media units, to the current total of more than 7,000 from nearly 100 media units.  相似文献
