针对目前高校网络迅速发展的现状,在大量问卷调查的基础上,利用结构方程模型分析了网络文化对高校校园文化的影响。选择网络文化与高校校园文化为潜变量,网络意识文化、网络制度文化、网络物质文化、校园精神文化、校园物质文化为可测变量。通过对各可测变量之间的关系进行统计分析,得出网络文化能够对高校校园文化产生重要影响的结论,为促进网络文化与校园文化的共同发展提供了理论依据。  相似文献

Abstract.  Functional data analysis is a growing research field as more and more practical applications involve functional data. In this paper, we focus on the problem of regression and classification with functional predictors: the model suggested combines an efficient dimension reduction procedure [functional sliced inverse regression, first introduced by Ferré & Yao ( Statistics , 37, 2003 , 475)], for which we give a regularized version, with the accuracy of a neural network. Some consistency results are given and the method is successfully confronted to real-life data.  相似文献

A generalized version of inverted exponential distribution (IED) is considered in this paper. This lifetime distribution is capable of modeling various shapes of failure rates, and hence various shapes of aging criteria. The model can be considered as another useful two-parameter generalization of the IED. Maximum likelihood and Bayes estimates for two parameters of the generalized inverted exponential distribution (GIED) are obtained on the basis of a progressively type-II censored sample. We also showed the existence, uniqueness and finiteness of the maximum likelihood estimates of the parameters of GIED based on progressively type-II censored data. Bayesian estimates are obtained using squared error loss function. These Bayesian estimates are evaluated by applying the Lindley's approximation method and via importance sampling technique. The importance sampling technique is used to compute the Bayes estimates and the associated credible intervals. We further consider the Bayes prediction problem based on the observed samples, and provide the appropriate predictive intervals. Monte Carlo simulations are performed to compare the performances of the proposed methods and a data set has been analyzed for illustrative purposes.  相似文献

The paper introduces and discusses different estimation methods for multi-index models where the indices are parametric and the link function is nonparametric. We provide a new algorithm that extends the ideas of Hristache and colleagues by an additional penalization within the search space. We concentrate on an intuitive presentation of the procedure. We provide a comparative simulation study of the proposed algorithm, the original algorithm from Hristache et al. [M. Hristache, A. Juditski, and V. Spokoiny, Structure adaptive approach for dimension reduction, Ann. Stat. 29(6) (2001), pp. 1537–1566.] and a modification of this algorithm. Finally the procedure is illustrated by an analysis of the Boston housing data. All computations are performed using the effective dimension reduction (EDR) package that we make available within the R statistical system.  相似文献

大数据具有数据来源差异性、高维性及稀疏性等特点,如何挖掘数据集间的异质性和共同性并降维去噪是大数据分析的目标与挑战之一。整合分析(Integrative Analysis)同时分析多个独立数据集,避免因地域、时间等因素造成的样本差异而引起模型不稳定,是研究大数据差异性的有效方法。它的特点是将每个解释变量在所有数据集中的系数视为一组,通过惩罚函数对系数组进行压缩,研究变量间的关联性并实现降维。本文从同构数据整合分析、异构数据整合分析以及考虑网络结构的整合分析三方面梳理了惩罚整合分析方法的原理、算法和研究现状。统计模拟发现,在弱相关、一般相关和强相关三种情形下, Group Bridge、 Group MCP、Composite MCP都表现良好,其中 Group Bridge的假阳数最低且最稳定。最后,将整合分析用于研究具有来源差异性的新农合家庭医疗支出,以及具有超高维、小样本等大数据典型特征的癌症基因数据,得到了一些有意义的结论。  相似文献

The dimension reduction in regression is an efficient method of overcoming the curse of dimensionality in non-parametric regression. Motivated by recent developments for dimension reduction in time series, an empirical extension of central mean subspace in time series to a single-input transfer function model is performed in this paper. Here, we use central mean subspace as a tool of dimension reduction for bivariate time series in the case when the dimension and lag are known and estimate the central mean subspace through the Nadaraya–Watson kernel smoother. Furthermore, we develop a data-dependent approach based on a modified Schwarz Bayesian criterion to estimate the unknown dimension and lag. Finally, we show that the approach in bivariate time series works well using an expository demonstration, two simulations, and a real data analysis such as El Niño and fish Population.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce new parametric and semiparametric regression techniques for a recurrent event process subject to random right censoring. We develop models for the cumulative mean function and provide asymptotically normal estimators. Our semiparametric model which relies on a single-index assumption can be seen as a dimension reduction technique that, contrary to a fully nonparametric approach, is not stroke by the curse of dimensionality when the number of covariates is high. We discuss data-driven techniques to choose the parameters involved in the estimation procedures and provide a simulation study to support our theoretical results.  相似文献

A generalized version of inverted exponential distribution (IED) is introduced in this paper. The problem of interaction selection in high-dimensional data analysis has recently received much attention. This note aims to address and clarify several fundamental issues in interaction selection for linear regression models, especially when the input dimension p is much larger than the sample size n. We first discuss how to give a formal definition of “importance” for main and interaction effects. Then we focus on two-stage methods, which are computationally attractive for high-dimensional data analysis but thus far have been regarded as heuristic. We revisit the counterexample of Turlach and provide new insight to justify two-stage methods from the theoretical perspective. In the end, we suggest new strategies for interaction selection under the marginality principle and provide some simulation results.  相似文献

Sufficient dimension reduction methods aim to reduce the dimensionality of predictors while preserving regression information relevant to the response. In this article, we develop Minimum Average Deviance Estimation (MADE) methodology for sufficient dimension reduction. The purpose of MADE is to generalize Minimum Average Variance Estimation (MAVE) beyond its assumption of additive errors to settings where the outcome follows an exponential family distribution. As in MAVE, a local likelihood approach is used to learn the form of the regression function from the data and the main parameter of interest is a dimension reduction subspace. To estimate this parameter within its natural space, we propose an iterative algorithm where one step utilizes optimization on the Stiefel manifold. MAVE is seen to be a special case of MADE in the case of Gaussian outcomes with a common variance. Several procedures are considered to estimate the reduced dimension and to predict the outcome for an arbitrary covariate value. Initial simulations and data analysis examples yield encouraging results and invite further exploration of the methodology.  相似文献

Applications of multivariate statistics in engineering are hard to find, apart from those in quality control. However, we think that further insight into some technological cases may be gained by using adequate multivariate analysis tools. In this paper, we propose a review of the key parameters of rotating electric machines with factor analysis. This statistical technique allows not only the reduction of the dimension of the case we are analysing, but also reveals subtle relationships between the variables under study. We show an application of this methodology by studying the interrelations between the key variables in an electric machine, in this case the squirrel-cage induction motor. Through a step-by-step presentation of the case study, we deal with some of the topics an applied researcher may face, such as the rotation of the original factors, the extraction of higher-order factors and the development of the exploratory model. As a result, we present a worthwhile framework to both confirm our previous knowledge and capture unexplored facts. Moreover, it may provide a new approach to describing and understanding the design, performance and operating characteristics of these machines.  相似文献

Regression analysis is one of the most commonly used techniques in statistics. When the dimension of independent variables is high, it is difficult to conduct efficient non-parametric analysis straightforwardly from the data. As an important alternative to the additive and other non-parametric models, varying-coefficient models can reduce the modelling bias and avoid the "curse of dimensionality" significantly. In addition, the coefficient functions can easily be estimated via a simple local regression. Based on local polynomial techniques, we provide the asymptotic distribution for the maximum of the normalized deviations of the estimated coefficient functions away from the true coefficient functions. Using this result and the pre-asymptotic substitution idea for estimating biases and variances, simultaneous confidence bands for the underlying coefficient functions are constructed. An important question in the varying coefficient models is whether an estimated coefficient function is statistically significantly different from zero or a constant. Based on newly derived asymptotic theory, a formal procedure is proposed for testing whether a particular parametric form fits a given data set. Simulated and real-data examples are used to illustrate our techniques.  相似文献

The idea of dimension reduction without loss of information can be quite helpful for guiding the construction of summary plots in regression without requiring a prespecified model. Central subspaces are designed to capture all the information for the regression and to provide a population structure for dimension reduction. Here, we introduce the central k th-moment subspace to capture information from the mean, variance and so on up to the k th conditional moment of the regression. New methods are studied for estimating these subspaces. Connections with sliced inverse regression are established, and examples illustrating the theory are presented.  相似文献

In high dimensional classification problem, two stage method, reducing the dimension of predictor first and then applying the classification method, is a natural solution and has been widely used in many fields. The consistency of the two stage method is an important issue, since errors induced by dimension reduction method inevitably have impacts on the following classification method. As an effective method for classification problem, boosting has been widely used in practice. In this paper, we study the consistency of two stage method–dimension reduction based boosting algorithm (briefly DRB) for classification problem. Theoretical results show that Lipschitz condition on the base learner is required to guarantee the consistency of DRB. This theoretical findings provide useful guideline for application.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

To estimate causal treatment effects, we propose a new matching approach based on the reduced covariates obtained from sufficient dimension reduction. Compared with the original covariates and the propensity score, which are commonly used for matching in the literature, the reduced covariates are nonparametrically estimable and are effective in imputing the missing potential outcomes, under a mild assumption on the low-dimensional structure of the data. Under the ignorability assumption, the consistency of the proposed approach requires a weaker common support condition. In addition, researchers are allowed to employ different reduced covariates to find matched subjects for different treatment groups. We develop relevant asymptotic results and conduct simulation studies as well as real data analysis to illustrate the usefulness of the proposed approach.  相似文献

Traditionally, time series analysis involves building an appropriate model and using either parametric or nonparametric methods to make inference about the model parameters. Motivated by recent developments for dimension reduction in time series, an empirical application of sufficient dimension reduction (SDR) to nonlinear time series modelling is shown in this article. Here, we use time series central subspace as a tool for SDR and estimate it using mutual information index. Especially, in order to reduce the computational complexity in time series, we propose an efficient estimation method of minimal dimension and lag using a modified Schwarz–Bayesian criterion, when either of the dimensions and the lags is unknown. Through simulations and real data analysis, the approach presented in this article performs well in autoregression and volatility estimation.  相似文献

In many scientific investigations, a large number of input variables are given at the early stage of modeling and identifying the variables predictive of the response is often a main purpose of such investigations. Recently, the support vector machine has become an important tool in classification problems of many fields. Several variants of the support vector machine adopting different penalties in its objective function have been proposed. This paper deals with the Fisher consistency and the oracle property of support vector machines in the setting where the dimension of inputs is fixed. First, we study the Fisher consistency of the support vector machine over the class of affine functions. It is shown that the function class for decision functions is crucial for the Fisher consistency. Second, we study the oracle property of the penalized support vector machines with the smoothly clipped absolute deviation penalty. Once we have addressed the Fisher consistency of the support vector machine over the class of affine functions, the oracle property appears to be meaningful in the context of classification. A simulation study is provided in order to show small sample properties of the penalized support vector machines with the smoothly clipped absolute deviation penalty.  相似文献
