This paper presents a set of new tables and procedures for the selection of the following three types of Quick Switching (QS) systems for a given Acceptable Quality Level (AQL), Limiting Quality Level (LQL), producer's risk and consumer's risk.

(1) A Single sampling QS system with equal sample sizes but with different acceptance numbers

(2) A Single sampling QS system with two different sample sizes but with same acceptance number and

(3) A QS systen with double sampling normal inspection and single sampling tightened inspection

The third type of QS systen is the one newly presented in this paper. The tables provide unique plans for a given set of conditions as well as providing a smaller sample size or a smaller sum of Average Sample Numbers(ASN) at the AQL and LQL     

A note on the operating characteristic curve of the known sigma single sampling variables plan

The operating characteristic curves of certain known sigma variables sampling plans may not be satisfactory in that they have a tendency to reject even lots of acceptable quality. This note presents the theory and a method to identify such known sigma variables plans possessing unsatisfactory operating characteristic curves.

A procedure for selection of a gamma-Poisson single sampling plan by attributes

Design and evaluation of sampling plans by attributes and by variables are important aspects in the area of acceptance sampling research. Various procedures for the selection of conventional single sampling by attributes have been developed and are available in the literature. This paper presents a design methodology and tables for the selection of parameters of single sampling plans for specified requirements (strengths) under the conditions of a gamma prior and Poisson sampling distribution. The relative efficiency of gamma-Poisson single sampling plans over conventional plans is discussed through empirical illustrations.     

Lot Sampling Distributions for Bounded Number of Nonconformities

Attributes sampling is an important inspection tool in areas like product quality control, service quality control or auditing. The classical item quality scheme of attributes sampling distinguishes between conforming and nonconforming items, and measures lot quality by the lot fraction nonconforming. A more refined quality scheme rates item quality by the number of nonconformities occurring on the item, e.g., the number of defective components in a composite product or the number of erroneous entries in an accounting record, where lot quality is measured by the average number of nonconformities occurring on items in the lot. Statistical models of sampling for nonconformities rest on the idealizing assumption that the number of nonconformities on an item is unbounded. In most real cases, however, the number of nonconformities on an item has an upper bound, e.g., the number of product components or the number of entries in an accounting record. The present study develops two statistical models of sampling lots for nonconformities in the presence of an upper bound a for the number of nonconformities on each single item. For both models, the statistical properties of the sample statistics and the operating characteristics of single sampling plans are investigated. A broad numerical study compares single sampling plans with prescribed statistical properties under the bounded and unbounded quality schemes. In a large number of cases, the sample sizes for the realistic bounded models are smaller than the sample sizes for the idealizing unbounded model.
