Patriota and Lemonte [24] introduced a quite general multivariate normal regression model. This model considers that the mean vector and the covariance matrix share the same vector of parameters. In this paper we present some influence assessment for this model, such as the local influence, total local influence of an individual and generalized leverage which are discussed. In this paper we present various diagnostic methods for a linear regression model under a logarithmic Birnbaum-Saunders distribution for the errors, which may be applied for accelerated life testing or to compare the median lives of several populations. Some influence methods, such as the local influence, total local influence of an individual and generalized leverage are derived, analysed and discussed. We also present a connection between the local influence and generalized leverage methods. A discussion of the computation of the likelihood displacement as well as the normal curvature in the local influence method are presented. This article investigates case-deletion influence analysis via Cook’s distance and local influence analysis via conformal normal curvature for partially linear models with response missing at random. Local influence approach is developed to assess the sensitivity of parameter and nonparametric estimators to various perturbations such as case-weight, response variable, explanatory variable, and parameter perturbations on the basis of semiparametric estimating equations, which are constructed using the inverse probability weighted approach, rather than likelihood function. Residual and generalized leverage are also defined. Simulation studies and a dataset taken from the AIDS Clinical Trials are used to illustrate the proposed methods.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a multivariate log-linear Birnbaum–Saunders regression model. We discuss maximum-likelihood estimation of the model parameters and provide closed-form expressions for the score function and for Fisher's information matrix. Hypothesis testing is performed using approximations obtained from the asymptotic normality of the maximum-likelihood estimator. Some influence methods, such as the local influence and generalized leverage are discussed and the normal curvatures for studying local influence are derived under some perturbation schemes. Further, a test for the homogeneity of the shape parameter of the multivariate regression model is investigated. A real data set is presented for illustrative purposes.  相似文献

Calculations of local influence curvatures have been well developed when the ordinary least squares method is applied. In this article, we discuss the assessment of local influence under the modified ridge regression. Using a pseudo-likelihood function, we express the normal curvatures of local influence for three useful perturbation schemes in interpretable forms. This paper introduces a skewed log-Birnbaum–Saunders regression model based on the skewed sinh-normal distribution proposed by Leiva et al. [A skewed sinh-normal distribution and its properties and application to air pollution, Comm. Statist. Theory Methods 39 (2010), pp. 426–443]. Some influence methods, such as the local influence and generalized leverage, are presented. Additionally, we derived the normal curvatures of local influence under some perturbation schemes. In this paper we introduce a general elliptical multivariate regression model in which the mean vector and the scale matrix have parameters (or/and covariates) in common. This approach unifies several important elliptical models, such as nonlinear regressions, mixed-effects model with nonlinear fixed effects, errors-in-variables models, and so forth. We discuss maximum likelihood estimation of the model parameters and obtain the information matrix, both observed and expected. Additionally, we derived the generalized leverage as well as the normal curvatures of local influence under some perturbation schemes. This paper examines local influence assessment in generalized autoregressive conditional heteroscesdasticity models with Gaussian and Student-t errors, where influence is examined via the likelihood displacement. The analysis of local influence is discussed under three perturbation schemes: data perturbation, innovative model perturbation and additive model perturbation. For each case, expressions for slope and curvature diagnostics are derived. Monte Carlo experiments are presented to determine the threshold values for locating influential observations. The empirical study of daily returns of the New York Stock Exchange composite index shows that local influence analysis is a useful technique for detecting influential observations; most of the observations detected as influential are associated with historical shocks in the market. Finally, based on this empirical study and the analysis of simulated data, some advice is given on how to use the discussed methodology.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to develop influence diagnostics for AR(1) models under the innovative and the data perturbation schemes. There are four main contributions. First, we derive analytical expressions for the slope and curvature statistics. Second, we establish a relationship between the slope and curvature showing that the standardised slope and standardised curvature are equal for the innovative perturbation scheme, and these vectors are nearly identical for several values of the autoregressive parameter, for the data perturbation scheme. Third, we present a connection between the influence statistics and the tests for outlier detection. Fourth, for the innovative perturbation scheme, we derive the asymptotic distribution of a new influence statistic, whereas for the data perturbation scheme, the distribution of the influence statistics is obtained via Monte Carlo simulation. We additionally discuss practical guidelines for the use of local influence statistics, which are illustrated on a chemical process data set.  相似文献

The robust estimation and the local influence analysis for linear regression models with scale mixtures of multivariate skew-normal distributions have been developed in this article. The main virtue of considering the linear regression model under the class of scale mixtures of skew-normal distributions is that they have a nice hierarchical representation which allows an easy implementation of inference. Inspired by the expectation maximization algorithm, we have developed a local influence analysis based on the conditional expectation of the complete-data log-likelihood function, which is a measurement invariant under reparametrizations. This is because the observed data log-likelihood function associated with the proposed model is somewhat complex and with Cook's well-known approach it can be very difficult to obtain measures of the local influence. Some useful perturbation schemes are discussed. In order to examine the robust aspect of this flexible class against outlying and influential observations, some simulation studies have also been presented. Finally, a real data set has been analyzed, illustrating the usefulness of the proposed methodology.  相似文献

In this paper we discuss estimation and diagnostic procedures in elliptical multivariate regression models with equicorrelated random errors. Two procedures are proposed for the parameter estimation and the local influence curvatures are derived under some usual perturbation schemes to assess the sensitivity of the maximum likelihood estimates (MLEs). Two motivating examples preliminarily analyzed under normal errors are reanalyzed considering appropriate elliptical distributions. Abstract

In this work we mainly study the local influence in nonlinear mixed effects model with M-estimation. A robust method to obtain maximum likelihood estimates for parameters is presented, and the local influence of nonlinear mixed models based on robust estimation (M-estimation) by use of the curvature method is systematically discussed. The counting formulas of curvature for case weights perturbation, response variable perturbation and random error covariance perturbation are derived. Simulation studies are carried to access performance of the methods we proposed. We illustrate the diagnostics by an example presented in Davidian and Giltinan, which was analyzed under the non-robust situation.  相似文献

The failure rate function commonly has a bathtub shape in practice. In this paper we discuss a regression model considering new Weibull extended distribution developed by Xie et al. (2002) that can be used to model this type of failure rate function. Assuming censored data, we discuss parameter estimation: maximum likelihood method and a Bayesian approach where Gibbs algorithms along with Metropolis steps are used to obtain the posterior summaries of interest. We derive the appropriate matrices for assessing the local influence on the parameter estimates under different perturbation schemes, and we also present some ways to perform global influence. Also, some discussions on case deletion influence diagnostics are developed for the joint posterior distribution based on the Kullback–Leibler divergence. Besides, for different parameter settings, sample sizes and censoring percentages, are performed various simulations and display and compare the empirical distribution of the Martingale-type residual with the standard normal distribution. These studies suggest that the residual analysis usually performed in normal linear regression models can be straightforwardly extended to the martingale-type residual in log-Weibull extended models with censored data. Finally, we analyze a real data set under a log-Weibull extended regression model. We perform diagnostic analysis and model check based on the martingale-type residual to select an appropriate model.  相似文献

The class of nonlinear reproductive dispersion mixed models (NRDMMs) is an extension of nonlinear reproductive dispersion models and generalized linear mixed models. This paper discusses the influence analysis of the model based on Laplace approximation. The equivalence of case-deletion models and mean-shift outlier models in NRDMMs is investigated, and some diagnostic measures are proposed via the case-deletion method. We also investigate the assessment of local influence of various perturbation schemes. The proposed method is illustrated with an example.  相似文献

Through an investigation of normal curvature functions for influence graphs of a family of perturbed models, we develop the concept of local conditional influence. This concept can be used to study masking and boosting effects in local influence. We identify the situation under which the influence graph of the unperturbed model contains all the information on these effects. The linear regression model is used for illustration and it is shown that the concept developed is consistent with Lawrance's (1995) approach of conditional influence in Cook's distance.  相似文献

Detection of outliers or influential observations is an important work in statistical modeling, especially for the correlated time series data. In this paper we propose a new procedure to detect patch of influential observations in the generalized autoregressive conditional heteroskedasticity (GARCH) model. Firstly we compare the performance of innovative perturbation scheme, additive perturbation scheme and data perturbation scheme in local influence analysis. We find that the innovative perturbation scheme give better result than other two schemes although this perturbation scheme may suffer from masking effects. Then we use the stepwise local influence method under innovative perturbation scheme to detect patch of influential observations and uncover the masking effects. The simulated studies show that the new technique can successfully detect a patch of influential observations or outliers under innovative perturbation scheme. The analysis based on simulation studies and two real data sets show that the stepwise local influence method under innovative perturbation scheme is efficient for detecting multiple influential observations and dealing with masking effects in the GARCH model.  相似文献

In this paper, the generalized log-gamma regression model is modified to allow the possibility that long-term survivors may be present in the data. This modification leads to a generalized log-gamma regression model with a cure rate, encompassing, as special cases, the log-exponential, log-Weibull and log-normal regression models with a cure rate typically used to model such data. The models attempt to simultaneously estimate the effects of explanatory variables on the timing acceleration/deceleration of a given event and the surviving fraction, that is, the proportion of the population for which the event never occurs. The normal curvatures of local influence are derived under some usual perturbation schemes and two martingale-type residuals are proposed to assess departures from the generalized log-gamma error assumption as well as to detect outlying observations. Finally, a data set from the medical area is analyzed.  相似文献

Skew scale mixtures of normal distributions are often used for statistical procedures involving asymmetric data and heavy-tailed. The main virtue of the members of this family of distributions is that they are easy to simulate from and they also supply genuine expectation-maximization (EM) algorithms for maximum likelihood estimation. In this paper, we extend the EM algorithm for linear regression models and we develop diagnostics analyses via local influence and generalized leverage, following Zhu and Lee's approach. This is because Cook's well-known approach cannot be used to obtain measures of local influence. The EM-type algorithm has been discussed with an emphasis on the skew Student-t-normal, skew slash, skew-contaminated normal and skew power-exponential distributions. Finally, results obtained for a real data set are reported, illustrating the usefulness of the proposed method.  相似文献

We propose some statistical tools for diagnosing the class of generalized Weibull linear regression models [A.A. Prudente and G.M. Cordeiro, Generalized Weibull linear models, Comm. Statist. Theory Methods 39 (2010), pp. 3739–3755]. This class of models is an alternative means of analysing positive, continuous and skewed data and, due to its statistical properties, is very competitive with gamma regression models. First, we show that the Weibull model induces ma-ximum likelihood estimators asymptotically more efficient than the gamma model. Standardized residuals are defined, and their statistical properties are examined empirically. Some measures are derived based on the case-deletion model, including the generalized Cook's distance and measures for identifying influential observations on partial F-tests. The results of a simulation study conducted to assess behaviour of the global influence approach are also presented. Further, we perform a local influence analysis under the case-weights, response and explanatory variables perturbation schemes. The Weibull, gamma and other Weibull-type regression models are fitted into three data sets to illustrate the proposed diagnostic tools. Statistical analyses indicate that the Weibull model fitted into these data yields better fits than other common alternative models.  相似文献
