ABSTRACT

In this article we introduce some structural relationships between weighted and original variables in the context of maintainability function and reversed repair rate. Furthermore, we prove some characterization theorems for specific models such as power, exponential, Pareto II, beta, and Pearson system of distributions using the relationships between the original and weighted random variables.  相似文献

Record values are closely connected with the occurrence times of a corresponding non-homogeneous Poisson process and in reliability theory, they are used in shock models. In this paper, first, some distribution properties of current records are presented. It is then shown that the hazard (reversed hazard) function of the upper (lower) current records can be expressed in terms of the hazard (reversed hazard) function of the parent distribution. Some reliability relationships between the original variable X and the corresponding current records and with record ranges are established. Also, preservation of some uncertainty measure based on current records is discussed.  相似文献

In this article, first, in order to compare X and X w (the weighted version of X with weight function w(·)) according to reversed mean residual life order, we provide an equivalent condition. We then try to provide conditions under which the reversed mean residual life order is preserved by weighted distributions. For this end, we obtain several independent results. Finally, the problem of preservation of increasing reversed mean residual life class under weighting is investigated, as well. Some examples are also given to illustrate the results.  相似文献

In the present article we study several characteristics of the families of generalized beta- and gamma- generated distributions introduced by Alexander et al. (2011) and Zografos and Balakrishnan (2009), respectively. Simple formulas are established for calculating the failure rate of the members of the aforementioned families by exploiting the failure rate of the parent distribution. In addition, the aging properties of the generalized beta- and gamma-generated distributions are explored in terms of the corresponding aging behavior of the parent family.  相似文献

In survival analysis, it is often of interest to test whether or not two survival time distributions are equal, specifically in the presence of censored data. One very popular test statistic utilized in this testing procedure is the weighted logrank statistic. Much attention has been focused on finding flexible weight functions to use within the weighted logrank statistic, and we propose yet another. We demonstrate our weight function to be more stable than one of the most popular, which is given by Fleming and Harrington, by means of asymptotic normal tests, bootstrap tests and permutation tests performed on two datasets with a variety of characteristics.  相似文献

In many practical situations, order statistics arise naturally with random sample size. In this article, we review results on partial orderings and aging properties of such order statistics. The comparison of order statistics for different sample sizes is also discussed here.  相似文献

Knowledge concerning the family of univariate continuous distributions with density function f and distribution function F defined through the relation f(x) = F α(x)(1 ? F(x))β, α, β ? , is reviewed and modestly extended. Symmetry, modality, tail behavior, order statistics, shape properties based on the mode, L-moments, and—for the first time—transformations between members of the family are the general properties considered. Fully tractable special cases include all the complementary beta distributions (including uniform, power law and cosine distributions), the logistic, exponential and Pareto distributions, the Student t distribution on 2 degrees of freedom and, newly, the distribution corresponding to α = β = 5/2. The logistic distribution is central to some of the developments of the article.  相似文献

This article studies the minima stable property of the general multivariate Pareto distributions MP(k)(I), MP(k)(II), MP(k)(III), MP(k)(IV) which can be applied to characterize the MP(k) distribution via its weighted ordered coordinates minima and marginal distribution. Also, the multivariate semi-Pareto distribution (denoted by MSP) is discerned in the class of geometric minima infinite divisible and geometric minima stable distributions. If the exponent measure is satisfied by some functional equation, then the geometric minima stable property can be used to characterize the MSP distribution. Finally, the finite sample minima infinite divisible property of the MP(k)(I), (II), and (IV) distributions is also discussed.  相似文献

The failure rate of a life time distribution has so for been studied in the time domsin. The present paper extends the failure rate transform in the frequency domain. For this purpose, the parent life time distribution has been taken as the Weibull distribution and different properties of the distribution of the failure rate transform have been presented including some characterisations of the Weibull distribution. Some comparative studies have also been made between the parent distribution and the failure rate transform distribution in respect of convex, star shaped and super additive orderings and expectation.  相似文献

This article investigates some properties of the mean residual life function of (nk+1)-out-of-n systems, when the lifetimes of the system components are independent random variables but not necessarily identically distributed and when the joint distribution of the component lifetimes is exchangeable, extending the results of Asadi and Goliforushani (2008) [On the mean residual life function of coherent systems. IEEE Transactions on Reliability 57 (4) 574-580] for the case of independent and identically distributed components. The extension to a coherent system with exchangeable components is also given.  相似文献
