Calculations of local influence curvatures and leverage have been well developed when the parameters are unrestricted. In this article, we discuss the assessment of local influence and leverage under linear equality parameter constraints with extensions to inequality constraints. Using a penalized quadratic function we express the normal curvature of local influence for arbitrary perturbation schemes and the generalized leverage matrix in interpretable forms, which depend on restricted and unrestricted components. The results are quite general and can be applied in various statistical models. In particular, we derive the normal curvature under three useful perturbation schemes for generalized linear models. Four illustrative examples are analyzed by the methodology developed in the article.  相似文献

We develop local influence diagnostics for a general binary regression model, and apply these methods to case-weight perturbations in four examples. In addition, we illustrate the correspondence between case-deletion diagnostics and local case-weight perturbation slopes and curvatures. We demonstrate that local influence diagnostics can provide a more computationally efficient means for obtaining analogous information to that yielded by case-deletion diagnostics, which can be thought of as global influence perturbations. We also assess the global consistency of patterns of local influence using these data examples.  相似文献

Patriota and Lemonte [24] introduced a quite general multivariate normal regression model. This model considers that the mean vector and the covariance matrix share the same vector of parameters. In this paper we present some influence assessment for this model, such as the local influence, total local influence of an individual and generalized leverage which are discussed. Additionally, the normal curvatures for local influence studies are derived under some perturbation schemes.  相似文献

In this paper we discuss estimation and diagnostic procedures in elliptical multivariate regression models with equicorrelated random errors. Two procedures are proposed for the parameter estimation and the local influence curvatures are derived under some usual perturbation schemes to assess the sensitivity of the maximum likelihood estimates (MLEs). Two motivating examples preliminarily analyzed under normal errors are reanalyzed considering appropriate elliptical distributions. The local influence approach is used to compare the sensitivity of the model estimates.  相似文献

This paper introduces a skewed log-Birnbaum–Saunders regression model based on the skewed sinh-normal distribution proposed by Leiva et al. [A skewed sinh-normal distribution and its properties and application to air pollution, Comm. Statist. Theory Methods 39 (2010), pp. 426–443]. Some influence methods, such as the local influence and generalized leverage, are presented. Additionally, we derived the normal curvatures of local influence under some perturbation schemes. An empirical application to a real data set is presented in order to illustrate the usefulness of the proposed model.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a multivariate log-linear Birnbaum–Saunders regression model. We discuss maximum-likelihood estimation of the model parameters and provide closed-form expressions for the score function and for Fisher's information matrix. Hypothesis testing is performed using approximations obtained from the asymptotic normality of the maximum-likelihood estimator. Some influence methods, such as the local influence and generalized leverage are discussed and the normal curvatures for studying local influence are derived under some perturbation schemes. Further, a test for the homogeneity of the shape parameter of the multivariate regression model is investigated. A real data set is presented for illustrative purposes.  相似文献

Object functions other than the likelihood displacement, such as a parameter estimate or a test statistic, can also be used in local influence analysis. The normal curvatures of these object functions have been studied in situations where the slopes were non-zero. In these situations, we show that the normal curvature is not scale invariant and thus ambiguous conclusions will be drawn. Comments on the application of the general normal curvature formula are presented.  相似文献

In this paper we introduce a general elliptical multivariate regression model in which the mean vector and the scale matrix have parameters (or/and covariates) in common. This approach unifies several important elliptical models, such as nonlinear regressions, mixed-effects model with nonlinear fixed effects, errors-in-variables models, and so forth. We discuss maximum likelihood estimation of the model parameters and obtain the information matrix, both observed and expected. Additionally, we derived the generalized leverage as well as the normal curvatures of local influence under some perturbation schemes. An empirical application is presented for illustrative purposes.  相似文献

In this paper, we discuss the bivariate Birnbaum-Saunders accelerated lifetime model, in which we have modeled the dependence structure of bivariate survival data through the use of frailty models. Specifically, we propose the bivariate model Birnbaum-Saunders with the following frailty distributions: gamma, positive stable and logarithmic series. We present a study of inference and diagnostic analysis for the proposed model, more concisely, are proposed a diagnostic analysis based in local influence and residual analysis to assess the fit model, as well as, to detect influential observations. In this regard, we derived the normal curvatures of local influence under different perturbation schemes and we performed some simulation studies for assessing the potential of residuals to detect misspecification in the systematic component, the presence in the stochastic component of the model and to detect outliers. Finally, we apply the methodology studied to real data set from recurrence in times of infections of 38 kidney patients using a portable dialysis machine, we analyzed these data considering independence within the pairs and using the bivariate Birnbaum-Saunders accelerated lifetime model, so that we could make a comparison and verify the importance of modeling dependence within the times of infection associated with the same patient.  相似文献

Influence diagnostics in the tobit censored response model   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
In this article, we develop influence diagnostic tools for the tobit model. Specifically, we discuss global influence methods based on the Cook distance and residuals with envelopes, and total and conformal local influence techniques. In order to analyze the sensitivity of the maximum likelihood estimators of the parameters of the model to small perturbations on the assumptions of the model and/or data, we consider several perturbation schemes, such as case-weight and response perturbations. Finally, we illustrate the developed methodology by means of a real data set.  相似文献

In this article, we present diagnostic methods for the modified ridge regression under elliptical model based on the pseudo-likelihood function. The maximum likelihood estimators of the parameters in the modified ridge elliptical model are given and local influence measures are developed. Finally, illustration of our methodology is given through a numerical example.  相似文献

The robust estimation and the local influence analysis for linear regression models with scale mixtures of multivariate skew-normal distributions have been developed in this article. The main virtue of considering the linear regression model under the class of scale mixtures of skew-normal distributions is that they have a nice hierarchical representation which allows an easy implementation of inference. Inspired by the expectation maximization algorithm, we have developed a local influence analysis based on the conditional expectation of the complete-data log-likelihood function, which is a measurement invariant under reparametrizations. This is because the observed data log-likelihood function associated with the proposed model is somewhat complex and with Cook's well-known approach it can be very difficult to obtain measures of the local influence. Some useful perturbation schemes are discussed. In order to examine the robust aspect of this flexible class against outlying and influential observations, some simulation studies have also been presented. Finally, a real data set has been analyzed, illustrating the usefulness of the proposed methodology.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose nonlinear elliptical models for correlated data with heteroscedastic and/or autoregressive structures. Our aim is to extend the models proposed by Russo et al. 22 by considering a more sophisticated scale structure to deal with variations in data dispersion and/or a possible autocorrelation among measurements taken throughout the same experimental unit. Moreover, to avoid the possible influence of outlying observations or to take into account the non-normal symmetric tails of the data, we assume elliptical contours for the joint distribution of random effects and errors, which allows us to attribute different weights to the observations. We propose an iterative algorithm to obtain the maximum-likelihood estimates for the parameters and derive the local influence curvatures for some specific perturbation schemes. The motivation for this work comes from a pharmacokinetic indomethacin data set, which was analysed previously by Bocheng and Xuping 1 under normality.  相似文献

We introduce a new class of heteroscedastic log-exponentiated Weibull (LEW) regression models. The class of regression models can be applied to censored data and be used more effectively in survival analysis. Maximum likelihood estimation of the model parameters with censored data as well as influence diagnostics for the new regression model is investigated. For different parameter settings, sample sizes and censoring percentages, various simulation studies are performed and compared to the performance of the heteroscedastic LEW regression model. The normal curvatures for studying local influence are derived under various perturbation schemes. An empirical application to a real data set is provided to illustrate the usefulness of the new class of heteroscedastic regression models.  相似文献

Through an investigation of normal curvature functions for influence graphs of a family of perturbed models, we develop the concept of local conditional influence. This concept can be used to study masking and boosting effects in local influence. We identify the situation under which the influence graph of the unperturbed model contains all the information on these effects. The linear regression model is used for illustration and it is shown that the concept developed is consistent with Lawrance's (1995) approach of conditional influence in Cook's distance.  相似文献

Various mixed models were developed to capture the features of between- and within-individual variation for longitudinal data under the normality assumption of the random effect and the within-individual random error. However, the normality assumption may be violated in some applications. To this end, this article assumes that the random effect follows a skew-normal distribution and the within-individual error is distributed as a reproductive dispersion model. An expectation conditional maximization (ECME) algorithm together with the Metropolis-Hastings (MH) algorithm within the Gibbs sampler is presented to simultaneously obtain estimates of parameters and random effects. Several diagnostic measures are developed to identify the potentially influential cases and assess the effect of minor perturbation to model assumptions via the case-deletion method and local influence analysis. To reduce the computational burden, we derive the first-order approximations to case-deletion diagnostics. Several simulation studies and a real data example are presented to illustrate the newly developed methodologies.  相似文献

Since correspondence analysis appears to be sensitive to outliers, it is important to be able to evaluate the sensitivity of the data on the results. This article deals with measuring the influence of rows and columns on the results obtained with correspondence analysis. To establish the influence of individuals on the analysis, we use the notion of influence curve and we propose a general criterion based on the mean square error to measure the sensitivity of the correspondence analysis and its robustness. A numerical example is presented to illustrate the notions developed in this article.  相似文献

In this article, we assess the local influence for the ridge regression of linear models with stochastic linear restrictions in the spirit of Cook by using the log-likelihood of the stochastic restricted ridge regression estimator. The diagnostics under the perturbations of constant variance, responses and individual explanatory variables are derived. We also assess the local influence of the stochastic restricted ridge regression estimator under the approach suggested by Billor and Loynes. At the end, a numerical example on the Longley data is given to illustrate the theoretic results.  相似文献

In this paper, the generalized log-gamma regression model is modified to allow the possibility that long-term survivors may be present in the data. This modification leads to a generalized log-gamma regression model with a cure rate, encompassing, as special cases, the log-exponential, log-Weibull and log-normal regression models with a cure rate typically used to model such data. The models attempt to simultaneously estimate the effects of explanatory variables on the timing acceleration/deceleration of a given event and the surviving fraction, that is, the proportion of the population for which the event never occurs. The normal curvatures of local influence are derived under some usual perturbation schemes and two martingale-type residuals are proposed to assess departures from the generalized log-gamma error assumption as well as to detect outlying observations. Finally, a data set from the medical area is analyzed.  相似文献
