The present study suggests the use of the normalized Johnson transformation trimmed t statistic in the one-sample case when the assumption of normality is violated. The performance of the proposed method was evaluated by Monte Carlo simulation, and was compared with the conventional Student t statistic, the trimmed t statistic and the normalized Johnson's transformation untrimmed t statistic respectively. The simulated results indicate that the proposed method can control type I error very well and that its power is greater than the other competitors for various conditions of non-normality. The method can be easily computer programmed and provides an alternative for the conventional t test.  相似文献

A scan statistic is proposed for the prospective monitoring of spatiotemporal count data with an excess of zeros. The method that is based on an outbreak model for the zero‐inflated Poisson distribution is shown to be superior to traditional scan statistics based on the Poisson distribution in the presence of structural zeros. The spatial accuracy and the detection timeliness of the proposed scan statistic are investigated by means of simulation, and an application on the weekly cases of Campylobacteriosis in Germany illustrates how the scan statistic could be used to detect emerging disease outbreaks. An implementation of the method is provided in the open‐source R package scanstatistics available on the Comprehensive R Archive Network.  相似文献

This paper presents a new random weighting-based adaptive importance resampling method to estimate the sampling distribution of a statistic. A random weighting-based cross-entropy procedure is developed to iteratively calculate the optimal resampling probability weights by minimizing the Kullback-Leibler distance between the optimal importance resampling distribution and a family of parameterized distributions. Subsequently, the random weighting estimation of the sampling distribution is constructed from the obtained optimal importance resampling distribution. The convergence of the proposed method is rigorously proved. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can effectively estimate the sampling distribution of a statistic.  相似文献

对半参数变系数回归模型,构造了新的空间相关性检验统计量,利用三阶矩 逼近方法导出了其检验 值的近似计算公式,蒙特卡罗模拟结果表明该统计量在检测空间相关性方面具有较高的准确性和可靠性。同时考察了误差项服从不同分布时的检验功效,体现出该检验方法的稳健性。进一步,我们还给出了检验统计量的Bootstrap方法以及检验水平的模拟效果。  相似文献

We are interested in comparing logistic regressions for several test treatments or populations with a logistic regression for a standard treatment or population. The research was motivated by some real life problems, which are discussed as data examples. We propose a step-down likelihood ratio method for declaring differences between the test treatments or populations and the standard treatment or population. Competitors based on the sequentially rejective Bonferroni Wald statistic, sequentially rejective exact Wald statistic and Reiers?l's statistic are also discussed. It is shown that the proposed method asymptotically controls the probability of type I error. A Monte Carlo simulation shows that the proposed method performs well for relatively small sample sizes, outperforming its competitors.  相似文献

An empirical likelihood-based inferential procedure is developed for a class of general additive-multiplicative hazard models. The proposed log-empirical likelihood ratio test statistic for the parameter vector is shown to have a chi-squared limiting distribution. The result can be used to make inference about the entire parameter vector as well as any linear combination of it. The asymptotic power of the proposed test statistic under contiguous alternatives is discussed. The method is illustrated by extensive simulation studies and a real example.  相似文献

The Gini index and its generalizations have been used extensively for measuring inequality and poverty in the social sciences. Recently, interval estimation based on nonparametric statistics has been proposed in the literature, for example the naive bootstrap method, the iterated bootstrap method and the bootstrap method via a pivotal statistic. In this paper, we propose empirical likelihood methods to construct confidence intervals for the Gini index or the difference of two Gini indices. Simulation studies show that the proposed empirical likelihood method performs slightly worse than the bootstrap method based on a pivotal statistic in terms of coverage accuracy, but it requires less computation. However, the bootstrap calibration of the empirical likelihood method performs better than the bootstrap method based on a pivotal statistic.  相似文献

For a segmented regression system with an unknown changepoint over two domains of a predictor, a new empirical likelihood ratio statistic is proposed to test the null hypothesis of no change. Under the null hypothesis of no change, the proposed test statistic is shown empirically to be Gumbel distributed with robust location and scale estimators against various parameter settings and error distributions. A power analysis is conducted to illustrate the performance of the test. Under the alternative hypothesis with a changepoint, the test statistic is utilized to estimate the changepoint between the two domains. A comparison of the frequency distributions between the proposed estimator and two parametric methods indicates that the proposed method is effective in capturing the true changepoint.  相似文献

A new statistic and a new method of analysis are proposed for data where a sample of respondents provides a preference ordering of some treatments. The new preference statistic is compared with the Friedman statistic, particularly for an example where 12 home owners each ranked four grasses. The new analysis provides a more natural and less misleading assessment of where the differences occur than an analysis based on the rank sums of the Friedman statistic. The new analysis is also more robust to deviations from the classical location problem, is not related to election methods known to have undesirable characteristics and adheres to the Condorcet criterion for election methods.  相似文献

We propose a new method to test the order between two high-dimensional mean curves. The new statistic extends the approach of Follmann (1996) to high-dimensional data by adapting the strategy of Bai and Saranadasa (1996). The proposed procedure is an alternative to the non-negative basis matrix factorization (NBMF) based test of Lee et al. (2008) for the same hypothesis, but it is much easier to implement. We derive the asymptotic mean and variance of the proposed test statistic under the null hypothesis of equal mean curves. Based on theoretical results, we put forward a permutation procedure to approximate the null distribution of the new test statistic. We compare the power of the proposed test with that of the NBMF-based test via simulations. We illustrate the approach by an application to tidal volume traces.  相似文献

Empirical-likelihood based inference for the parameters in a generalized partially linear single-index models (GPLSIM) is investigated. Based on the local linear estimators of the nonparametric parts of the GPLSIM, an estimated empirical likelihood-based statistic of the parametric components is proposed. We show that the resulting statistic is asymptotically standard chi-squared distributed, the confidence regions for the parametric components are constructed. The authors study the problem of testing whether two populations have the same law by comparing kernel estimators of the two density functions. The proposed test statistic is based on a local empirical likelihood approach. They obtain the asymptotic distribution of the test statistic and propose a bootstrap approximation to calibrate the test. A simulation study is carried out in which the proposed method is compared with two competitors, and a procedure to select the bandwidth parameter is studied. In this paper, a modified exponentially weighted moving average (EWMA) statistic is proposed. The approximate distribution of the proposed modified EWMA statistic is derived. A variable acceptance sampling plan is designed using the proposed EWMA statistic. The plan parameters of the proposed sampling plan are determined such that the given producer's risk and consumer's risk are satisfied. The efficiency of the proposed plan based on the new EWMA statistic is compared with the existing EWMA plan in terms of the sample size required. A test statistic for examining the equality of an individual eigenvalue in two populations of high dimension is proposed. The asymptotic distribution of the proposed statistic is derived and the validity of the permutation test is discussed. Simulations were used to investigate the power of the suggested statistic. In this paper, bootstrap detection and ratio estimation are proposed to analysis mean change in heavy-tailed distribution. First, the test statistic is constructed into a ratio form on the CUSUM process. Then, the asymptotic distribution of test statistic is obtained and the consistency of the test is proved. To solve the problem that the null distribution of the test statistic contains unknown tail index, we present a bootstrap approximation method to determine the critical values of the null distribution. We also discuss how to estimate change point based on ratio method. The consistency and rate of convergence for the change-point estimator are established. Finally, the excellent performance of our method is demonstrated through simulations using artificial and real data sets. Especially the simulation results of bootstrap test are better than those of another existing method.  相似文献

部分函数型线性变系数模型(PFLVCM)是近几年出现的一个比较灵活、应用广泛的新模型。在实际应用中,搜集到的经济和金融数据往往存在序列相关性。如果不考虑数据间的相关性直接对其进行建模,会影响模型中参数估计的精度和有效性。本文主要研究了PFLVCM中误差的序列相关性的检验问题,基于经验似然,把标量时间序列数据相关性检验的方法拓展到函数型数据中,提出了经验对数似然比检验统计量,并在零假设下得到了检验统计量的近似分布。通过蒙特卡洛数值模拟说明该统计量在有限样本下有良好的水平和功效。最后,把该方法用于检验美国商业用电消费数据是否有序列相关性,证明该统计量的有效性和实用性。  相似文献

In this article, a partially linear errors-in-variables model is considered, and empirical log-likelihood ratio statistic for the unknown parameter in the model is suggested. It is proved that the proposed statistic is asymptotically standard chi-square distribution under some suitable conditions, and hence it can be used to construct the confidence region of the parameter. A simulation study indicates that, in terms of coverage probabilities and average lengths of the confidence intervals, the proposed method performs better than the least-squares method.  相似文献

Consider the problem of testing the isotonic of several p-variate normal mean vectors against all alternatives. It is difficult to compute the exact p-value for this problem of testing with the classical method when the covariance matrices are completely unknown. In the present paper, a test statistic is proposed for this problem of testing. In this article we show the effectiveness and the accuracy of the test statistic based on the expnnent of the saddlepoint approximation for the density of M-estimators, proposed by Robinson, Ronchetti and Young (1999), for testing simultaneous hypotheses on the mean and on the variance of a wrapped normal distribution. We base this test statistic on the trigonometric method of moments estimator proposed by Gatto and Jammalamadaka (l999b), which admits the M-estimator representation necessary for this test. This test statistic has an approximate chi-squared distribution, asympiotically up to the second order, and the high accuracy of this approximation is shown by numerical simulations.  相似文献

When testing hypotheses in two-sample problem, the Lepage test statistic is often used to jointly test the location and scale parameters, and this test statistic has been discussed by many authors over the years. Since two-sample nonparametric testing plays an important role in biometry, the Cucconi test statistic is generalized to the location, scale, and location–scale parameters in two-sample problem. The limiting distribution of the suggested test statistic is derived under the hypotheses. Deriving the exact critical value of the test statistic is difficult when the sample sizes are increased. A gamma approximation is used to evaluate the upper tail probability for the proposed test statistic given finite sample sizes. The asymptotic efficiencies of the proposed test statistic are determined for various distributions. The consistency of the original Cucconi test statistic is shown on the specific cases. Finally, the original Cucconi statistic is discussed in the theory of ties.  相似文献
