Dear Women of China,
What a great list of Chinese proverbs in the Chinese language learning section of the December issue. I have been studying Chinese for a few years now, but I can never get enough of Chinese proverbs. After all, there are so many, and learning them can be really useful. Being able to find information like this in a magazine is a great added value. I look forward to seeing more in the future.

In general, I really admire your magazine. I＇ve become addicted and I read your magazine every month. I think it is an essential read for anyone interested in gender equality and （anyone who） supports win-win progress for both men and women. I would like to see more debate on family and cultural issues, though, and read more about the secret to China＇s economic growth. Dear Women of China, i＇m from Taiwan. I inadvertently discovered your magazine, and I thought it was really good. The wedding photos of an elderly couple published in the Vision section, in your March edition, were beautiful.     

EDITORIAL MAILBOX

I was happy to read the June 1996 issue of Women of China by chance and come to know something about Chinese women from your magazine. I found that there are good references and realities concerning Chinese women in your magazine which are useful to those women who are striving for development in other countries, like Nepal.

I＇m interested in your magazine, but there＇s no way for me to get copies of it where I live. I see that your website has an electronic version of the magazine, but it＇s only one issue, it＇s a few months old, it＇s difficult to read （because you have to wait for the pages to enlarge）, and you have to click on the pages to flip them back to the table of contents or reload the whole page. It＇s extremely aggravating and not at all easy for readers to use.

Dear Women of China, I like that you put listings in the back of the magazine.However,I do not find the events interesting.They are not the kind of events that I would normally go to. You should have some information about rock concerts(such as Air coming to China),brand fashion events and such     

THE SITUATION OF CHINESE WOME (Information Office of the State Council of the People's Republic of China)

On June 2. the Information Office of the State Council of the People's Republic of China issued a White Paper in Beijing about the situation of Chinese women.The 20, 000-word white Paper consists of a foreuord and eight parts. Through a large number of facts and data, it introduces in details hou' Chinese uomen obtained historical liberation during the new' democratic rerolution and socialist rerolution led by the Chinese Communist Party, and how under the socialist system Chinese women hare stepped onto the path of equality and derelopment and become an important force in China's construction, derelopment and progress.In Seplember 1995, the United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women is to be held in Beijing. To satisfy our readers' desire to knou' about the situation of Chinese women, we will publish the excerpls of the White paper, "The Situalion, of Chinese Women," in this and the Norember issue of our, magazine.
