To compare two samples under Type I censorship, this article proposes a method of semiparametric inference for the two-sample location-scale problem when the model for two samples is characterized by an unknown distribution and two unknown parameters. Simultaneous estimators for both the location shift and scale change parameters are given. It is shown that the two estimators are strongly consistent and asymptotically normal. The approach in this article can also be used for scale-shape models. Monte Carlo studies indicate that the proposed estimation procedure performs well in finite and heavily censored samples, maintains high relative efficiencies for a wide range of censoring proportions and is robust to the model misspecification, and also outperforms other competitive estimators.  相似文献

This article introduces a novel method, named JC 1, for obtaining G-efficient mixture design to fit quadratic models. The advantage of JC 1 method over existing algorithms is that it gives G-efficient designs without need of generating all the extreme vertices, edge centroids and constraint plane centroids of the mixture experimental region. The performance of the new method is illustrated and its comparison is given with popularly used algorithms—Snee (1975) algorithm and Welch (1985 Welch , W. J. ( 1985 ). ACED: Algorithms for the construction of experimental designs . Amer. Statistician 39 : 146 .[Crossref] [Google Scholar]) ACED algorithm for second-order (quadratic model) designs and it is observed that JC 1 method performs as well as the existing methods or sometimes better than those with additional advantage of large savings in computational efforts.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

A two-dimensionally indexed random coefficients autoregressive models (2D ? RCAR) and the corresponding statistical inference are important tools for the analysis of spatial lattice data. The study of such models is motivated by their second-order properties that are similar to those of 2D ? (G)ARCH which play an important role in spatial econometrics. In this article, we study the asymptotic properties of two-stage generalized moment method (2S ? GMM) under general asymptotic framework for 2D ? RCA models. So, the efficiency, strong consistency, the asymptotic normality, and hypothesis tests of 2S ? GMM estimation are derived. A simulation experiment is presented to highlight the theoretical results.  相似文献

In this article, we consider the application of the empirical likelihood method to the generalized random coefficient autoregressive (GRCA) model. When the order of the model is 1, we derive an empirical likelihood ratio test statistic to test the stationary-ergodicity. Some simulation studies are also conducted to investigate the finite sample performances of the proposed test.  相似文献

In this article, we consider the empirical likelihood for the autoregressive error-in-explanatory variable models. With the help of validation, we first develop an empirical likelihood ratio test statistic for the parameters of interest, and prove that its asymptotic distribution is that of a weighted sum of independent standard χ21 random variables with unknown weights. Also, we propose an adjusted empirical likelihood and prove that its asymptotic distribution is a standard χ2. Furthermore, an empirical likelihood-based confidence region is given. Simulation results indicate that the proposed method works well for practical situations.  相似文献

This article develops empirical likelihood for threshold autoregressive models. We propose general estimating equations based on moment constraint. Under some suitable conditions, we show the empirical likelihood estimators for parameter are asymptotically normally distributed, and the proposed log empirical likelihood ratio statistic asymptotically follows a standard chi-squared distribution.  相似文献

The kernel estimator of spatial regression function is investigated for stationary long memory (long range dependent) random fields observed over a finite set of spatial points. A general result on the strong consistency of the kernel density estimator is first obtained for the long memory random fields, and then, under some mild regularity assumptions, the asymptotic behaviors of the regression estimator are established. For the linear long memory random fields, a weak convergence theorem is also obtained for kernel density estimator. Finally, some related issues on the inference of long memory random fields are discussed through a simulation example.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the problem of testing for a parameter change in Poisson autoregressive models. We suggest two types of cumulative sum (CUSUM) tests, namely, those based on estimates and residuals. We first demonstrate that the conditional maximum likelihood estimator (CMLE) is strongly consistent and asymptotically normal and then construct the CMLE‐based CUSUM test. It is shown that under regularity conditions, its limiting null distribution is a function of independent Brownian bridges. Next, we construct the residual‐based CUSUM test and derive its limiting null distribution. Simulation results are provided for illustration. A real‐data analysis is performed on data for polio incidence and campylobacteriosis infections.  相似文献

In the paper, we consider a linear mixed model (LMM) for longitudinal data under linear restriction and find the estimators for the parameters of interest. The strong consistency and asymptotic normality of the estimators are obtained under some regularity conditions. Besides, we derive the strong consistent estimator of the fourth moment for the error which is useful for statistical inference for random effects and error variance. Simulations and an example are reported for illustration.  相似文献

In this article, the moment estimation of the parameters in two-parameter Rayleigh distribution is studied. For given sample values, the necessary and sufficient conditions on the estimating equations which have unique solution are obtained, and it is also proved that these conditions are satisfied on asymptotic probability 1. Furthermore, the strong consistency and asymptotic normality are obtained. Finally, some simulation experiments are made to show the conclusions.  相似文献

In this article, we investigate estimating moments, up to fourth order, in linear mixed models. For this estimation, we only assume the existence of moments. The obtained estimators of the model parameters and the third and fourth moments of the errors and random effects are proved to be consistent or asymptotically normal. The estimation provides a base for further statistical inference such as confidence region construction and hypothesis testing for the parameters of interest. Moreover, the method is readily extended to estimate higher moments. A simulation is carried out to examine the performance of this estimating method.  相似文献

Longitudinal count data with excessive zeros frequently occur in social, biological, medical, and health research. To model such data, zero-inflated Poisson (ZIP) models are commonly used, after separating zero and positive responses. As longitudinal count responses are likely to be serially correlated, such separation may destroy the underlying serial correlation structure. To overcome this problem recently observation- and parameter-driven modelling approaches have been proposed. In the observation-driven model, the response at a specific time point is modelled through the responses at previous time points after incorporating serial correlation. One limitation of the observation-driven model is that it fails to accommodate the presence of any possible over-dispersion, which frequently occurs in the count responses. This limitation is overcome in a parameter-driven model, where the serial correlation is captured through the latent process using random effects. We compare the results obtained by the two models. A quasi-likelihood approach has been developed to estimate the model parameters. The methodology is illustrated with analysis of two real life datasets. To examine model performance the models are also compared through a simulation study.  相似文献

Abstract

This article concerns the stochastically constrained linear model under a biased assumption. We propose a quasi-stochastically constrained least squares estimator. Furthermore, we provide the expectation of this estimator, demonstrate its consistency and asymptotic normality. In the end of the article, the simulation study of the new estimator shows that it is superior to the least squares estimator, ridge estimator, and the linear constrained estimators under certain conditions by comparing the mean squared errors of these estimators.  相似文献

This article proposes a mixture double autoregressive model by introducing the flexibility of mixture models to the double autoregressive model, a novel conditional heteroscedastic model recently proposed in the literature. To make it more flexible, the mixing proportions are further assumed to be time varying, and probabilistic properties including strict stationarity and higher order moments are derived. Inference tools including the maximum likelihood estimation, an expectation–maximization (EM) algorithm for searching the estimator and an information criterion for model selection are carefully studied for the logistic mixture double autoregressive model, which has two components and is encountered more frequently in practice. Monte Carlo experiments give further support to the new models, and the analysis of an empirical example is also reported.  相似文献

In this article, we use the empirical likelihood method to construct the confidence region for parameters in autoregressive model with martingale difference error. It is shown that the empirical log-likelihood ratio at the true parameter converges to the standard chi-square distribution. The simulation results suggest that the empirical likelihood method outperforms the normal approximation based method in terms of coverage probability.  相似文献

This article deals with the study of some properties of a mixture periodically correlated autoregressive (MPAR S ) time series model, which extends the mixture time invariant parameter autoregressive (MAR) model, that has recently received a considerable interest from many economic time series analysts, to mixture periodic parameter autoregressive model. The aim behind this extension is to make the model able to capture, in addition to all features captured by the classical MAR model, the periodicity feature exhibited by the autocovariance structure of many encountered financial and environmental time series with eventual multimodal distributions. Our main contribution here is obtaining of the second moment periodically stationary condition for a MPAR S (K; 2,…, 2) model, furthermore the closed-form of the second moment is obtained.  相似文献

Abstract. Generalized autoregressive conditional heteroscedastic (GARCH) models have been widely used for analyzing financial time series with time‐varying volatilities. To overcome the defect of the Gaussian quasi‐maximum likelihood estimator (QMLE) when the innovations follow either heavy‐tailed or skewed distributions, Berkes & Horváth (Ann. Statist., 32, 633, 2004) and Lee & Lee (Scand. J. Statist. 36, 157, 2009) considered likelihood methods that use two‐sided exponential, Cauchy and normal mixture distributions. In this paper, we extend their methods for Box–Cox transformed threshold GARCH model by allowing distributions used in the construction of likelihood functions to include parameters and employing the estimated quasi‐likelihood estimators (QELE) to handle those parameters. We also demonstrate that the proposed QMLE and QELE are consistent and asymptotically normal under regularity conditions. Simulation results are provided for illustration.  相似文献
