In many occupational safety interventions, the objective is to reduce the injury incidence as well as the mean claims cost once injury has occurred. The claims cost data within a period typically contain a large proportion of zero observations (no claim). The distribution thus comprises a point mass at 0 mixed with a non-degenerate parametric component. Essentially, the likelihood function can be factorized into two orthogonal components. These two components relate respectively to the effect of covariates on the incidence of claims and the magnitude of claims, given that claims are made. Furthermore, the longitudinal nature of the intervention inherently imposes some correlation among the observations. This paper introduces a zero-augmented gamma random effects model for analysing longitudinal data with many zeros. Adopting the generalized linear mixed model (GLMM) approach reduces the original problem to the fitting of two independent GLMMs. The method is applied to evaluate the effectiveness of a workplace risk assessment teams program, trialled within the cleaning services of a Western Australian public hospital.  相似文献

For the first time, we introduce a generalized form of the exponentiated generalized gamma distribution [Cordeiro et al. The exponentiated generalized gamma distribution with application to lifetime data, J. Statist. Comput. Simul. 81 (2011), pp. 827–842.] that is the baseline for the log-exponentiated generalized gamma regression model. The new distribution can accommodate increasing, decreasing, bathtub- and unimodal-shaped hazard functions. A second advantage is that it includes classical distributions reported in the lifetime literature as special cases. We obtain explicit expressions for the moments of the baseline distribution of the new regression model. The proposed model can be applied to censored data since it includes as sub-models several widely known regression models. It therefore can be used more effectively in the analysis of survival data. We obtain maximum likelihood estimates for the model parameters by considering censored data. We show that our extended regression model is very useful by means of two applications to real data.  相似文献

The interval-censored survival data appear very frequently, where the event of interest is not observed exactly but it is only known to occur within some time interval. In this paper, we propose a location-scale regression model based on the log-generalized gamma distribution for modelling interval-censored data. We shall be concerned only with parametric forms. The proposed model for interval-censored data represents a parametric family of models that has, as special submodels, other regression models which are broadly used in lifetime data analysis. Assuming interval-censored data, we consider a frequentist analysis, a Jackknife estimator and a non-parametric bootstrap for the model parameters. We derive the appropriate matrices for assessing local influence on the parameter estimates under different perturbation schemes and present some techniques to perform global influence.  相似文献

The article focuses mainly on a conditional imputation algorithm of quantile-filling to analyze a new kind of censored data, mixed interval-censored and complete data related to interval-censored sample. With the algorithm, the imputed failure times, which are the conditional quantiles, are obtained within the censoring intervals in which some exact failure times are. The algorithm is viable and feasible for the parameter estimation with general distributions, for instance, a case of Weibull distribution that has a moment estimation of closed form by log-transformation. Furthermore, interval-censored sample is a special case of the new censored sample, and the conditional imputation algorithm can also be used to deal with the failure data of interval censored. By comparing the interval-censored data and the new censored data, using the imputation algorithm, in the view of the bias of estimation, we find that the performance of new censored data is better than that of interval censored.  相似文献

Scheike and Zhang [An additive-multiplicative Cox-Aalen regression model. Scand J Stat. 2002;29:75–88] proposed a flexible additive-multiplicative hazard model, called the Cox-Aalen model, by replacing the baseline hazard function in the well-known Cox model with a covariate-dependent Aalen model, which allows for both fixed and dynamic covariate effects. In this paper, based on left-truncated and mixed interval-censored (LT-MIC) data, we consider maximum likelihood estimation for the Cox-Aalen model with fixed covariates. We propose expectation-maximization (EM) algorithms for obtaining the conditional maximum likelihood estimators (cMLE) of the regression coefficients for the Cox-Aalen model. We establish the consistency of the cMLE. Numerical studies show that estimation via the EM algorithms performs well.  相似文献

We propose a four-parameter extended generalized gamma model, which includes as special cases some important distributions and it is very useful for modeling lifetime data. A advantage is that it can represent the error distribution for a new heteroscedastic log-odd log-logistic generalized gamma regression model. The proposed heteroscedastic regression model can be used more effectively in the analysis of survival data since it includes as special models several widely-known regression models. Further, for different parameter settings, sample sizes and censoring percentages, various simulations are performed. Overall, the new regression model is very useful to the analysis of real data.  相似文献

Earlier researchers have studied some aspects of the classes of distribution functions with decreasing α-percentile residual life (DPRL(α)), 0<α<1. The purpose of this paper is to note some further properties of these classes, and to initiate a theory of non-parametric statistical estimation of DPRL(α) functions. Specifically, the close relationship between the DPRL(α) and the increasing failure rate ageing notions is studied. Other close relationships, between the DPRL(α) ageing notions and the percentile residual life stochastic orders, are described, and further properties of the above classes of distributions are derived. Finally, we introduce an estimator of the percentile residual life function, under the condition that it decreases, and we prove its strongly uniform consistency.  相似文献

A new distribution for non-negative integers, or counts, is developed. It is based on the assumption that the waiting times separating consecutive events are independently and identically gamma distributed. Thus, the structural process generating the counts may exhibit duration dependence. In this framework, the frequently observed phenomenon of overdispersion, that is a variance that exceeds the mean, is caused by a decreasing hazard function of the gamma distributed waiting times, while an increasing hazard leads to underdispersion at the level of the counts. A Monte Carlo simulation and an application to fertility data illustrate the performance of the new distribution.  相似文献

In this paper we define a new measure to describe the process of ageing of lifetime distributions. In terms of this measure we will define three partial orderings of lifetime distributions. The relationships between these orderings and other classical orderings are studied.  相似文献

"In this contribution we show how the analysis of data from the German Life History Study sheds light on and extends the official statistics on fertility trends in West Germany. First, the data gathered for the three cohorts 1929-31, 1939-41, and 1949-51, are proved for their representativeness. Then birth rates of the first, second, third, and following order for women and men are presented. At last we discuss results of simple survival analyses of the entry into parenthood for different sociostructural groups of men and women in our cohorts." (SUMMARY IN ENG)  相似文献

Gap times between recurrent events are often of primary interest in medical and observational studies. The additive hazards model, focusing on risk differences rather than risk ratios, has been widely used in practice. However, the marginal additive hazards model does not take the dependence among gap times into account. In this paper, we propose an additive mixed effect model to analyze gap time data, and the proposed model includes a subject-specific random effect to account for the dependence among the gap times. Estimating equation approaches are developed for parameter estimation, and the asymptotic properties of the resulting estimators are established. In addition, some graphical and numerical procedures are presented for model checking. The finite sample behavior of the proposed methods is evaluated through simulation studies, and an application to a data set from a clinic study on chronic granulomatous disease is provided.  相似文献

This article studies computation problem in the context of estimating parameters of linear mixed model for massive data. Our algorithms combine the factored spectrally transformed linear mixed model method with a sequential singular value decomposition calculation algorithm. This combination solves the operation limitation of the method and also makes this algorithm feasible to big dataset, especially when the data has a tall and thin design matrix. Our simulation studies show that our algorithms make the calculation of linear mixed model feasible for massive data on ordinary desktop and have same estimating accuracy with the method based on the whole data.  相似文献

It is purpose of this paper to introduce and describe graphical tools and techniques for (technically oriented) life time data analysis. The aim of this analysis is the determination of a representative statistical parametric or non-parametric model reflecting ageing behaviour over time. The paper intends to demonstrate that a subjective data analysis by graphs can be more sensitive and informative than pure parameter estimation in a predefined model or application of test statistics. In this sense some of those graphical tools are discussed which provide a less formal goodness-of-fit approach analysing the adherence to or deviation from a hypothesized distribution shape in a graph. Various graphical tools will be described and compared concerning their specific advantages and restrictions for life time data analysis. Finally some examples will demonstrate a “combined graphical analysis approach”.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the indentifiability of a latent random effect model for the mixed correlated continuous and ordinal longitudinal responses. We derive conditions for the identifiability of the covariance parameters of the responses. Also, we proposed sensitivity analysis to investigate the perturbation from the non-identifiability of the covariance parameters, it is shown how one can use some elements of covariance structure. These elements associate conditions for identifiability of the covariance parameters of the responses. Influence of small perturbation of these elements on maximal normal curvature is also studied. The model is illustrated using medical data.  相似文献

A multiple regression method based on distance analysis and metric scaling is proposed and studied. This method allow us to predict a continuous response variable from several explanatory variables, is compatible with the general linear model and is found to be useful when the predictor variables are both continuous and categorical. Real data examples are given to illustrate the results obtained.  相似文献

The mixed model is defined. The exact posterior distribution for the fixed effect vector is obtained. The exact posterior distribution for the error variance is obtained. The exact posterior mean and variance of a Bayesian estimator for the variances of random effects is also derived. All computations are non-iterative and avoid numerical integrations.  相似文献

We propose a flexible semiparametric stochastic mixed effects model for bivariate cyclic longitudinal data. The model can handle either single cycle or, more generally, multiple consecutive cycle data. The approach models the mean of responses by parametric fixed effects and a smooth nonparametric function for the underlying time effects, and the relationship across the bivariate responses by a bivariate Gaussian random field and a joint distribution of random effects. The proposed model not only can model complicated individual profiles, but also allows for more flexible within-subject and between-response correlations. The fixed effects regression coefficients and the nonparametric time functions are estimated using maximum penalized likelihood, where the resulting estimator for the nonparametric time function is a cubic smoothing spline. The smoothing parameters and variance components are estimated simultaneously using restricted maximum likelihood. Simulation results show that the parameter estimates are close to the true values. The fit of the proposed model on a real bivariate longitudinal dataset of pre-menopausal women also performs well, both for a single cycle analysis and for a multiple consecutive cycle analysis. Summary.  In longitudinal studies, missingness of data is often an unavoidable problem. Estimators from the linear mixed effects model assume that missing data are missing at random. However, estimators are biased when this assumption is not met. In the paper, theoretical results for the asymptotic bias are established under non-ignorable drop-out, drop-in and other missing data patterns. The asymptotic bias is large when the drop-out subjects have only one or no observation, especially for slope-related parameters of the linear mixed effects model. In the drop-in case, intercept-related parameter estimators show substantial asymptotic bias when subjects enter late in the study. Eight other missing data patterns are considered and these produce asymptotic biases of a variety of magnitudes.  相似文献
