Abstract

In this article we consider an unreliable MX/G/1 queue with two types of general heterogeneous service and optional repeated service subject to server’s break down and delayed repair under randomized vacation policy. We assume that customer arrive to the system according to a compound Poisson process. The server provides two types of general heterogeneous service and a customer can choose either type of service before its service start. After the completion of either type of service, the customer has the further option to repeat the same type of service once again. While the server is working with any types of service or repeated service, it may breakdown at any instant. Further the concept of randomized vacation is also introduced. For this model, we first derive the joint distribution of state of the server and queue size by considering both elapsed and remaining time, which is one of the objective of this article. Next, we derive Laplace Stieltjes transform of busy period distribution. Finally, we obtain some important performance measure and reliability indices of this model.  相似文献

This paper studies an M/G/1 clearing queueing system with setup time and multiple vacations, in which all present customers in the system are served simultaneously and breakdowns may occur in busy or setup period. We investigate the stationary distribution of system size and the Laplace–Stieltjes transform of sojourn time. In addition, various performance measures are discussed, such as the mean system size at arbitrary time and the mean length of a vacation circle. Moreover, a cost analysis is carried out for this queueing system. Numerical results are presented to study the sensitivity of the system parameters on the expected cost function and system performances.  相似文献

A queuing system with two incongruent arrivals and services is considered. Two kinds of customers enter the system by Poisson process and the service times are assumed to have general distribution. After first kind service completion, it may feedback to repeat the first service, leave the system or go to give second service. The same policy is applied for the other kind of customer. All stochastic processes involved in this system are independent. We derive the probability generating function for each kind and for the system that yield the performance measures. Some numerical approaches examined the validity of the results.  相似文献

In this article we study the problem of classification of three-level multivariate data, where multiple qq-variate observations are measured on uu-sites and over pp-time points, under the assumption of multivariate normality. The new classification rules with certain structured and unstructured mean vectors and covariance structures are very efficient in small sample scenario, when the number of observations is not adequate to estimate the unknown variance–covariance matrix. These classification rules successfully model the correlation structure on successive repeated measurements over time. Computation algorithms for maximum likelihood estimates of the unknown population parameters are presented. Simulation results show that the introduction of sites in the classification rules improves their performance over the existing classification rules without the sites.  相似文献

The basic model in this paper is an AR(1) model with a structural break in the AR parameter β at an unknown time k0. That is, yt = β1yt ? 1I{t ? k0} + β2yt ? 1I{t > k0} + ?t, t = 1, 2, ???, T, where I{ · } denotes the indicator function. Suppose |β1| < 1, |β2| < 1, and {?t, t ? 1} is a sequence of i.i.d. random variables which are in the domain of attraction of the normal law with zero mean and possibly infinite variance, then the limiting distributions for the least squares estimators of β1 and β2 are studied in the present paper, which extend some results in Chong (2001 Chong, T.L. (2001). Structural change in AR(1) models. Econometric Theory 17:87155.[Crossref], [Web of Science ®] [Google Scholar]).  相似文献

This paper is concerned with testing the equality of scale parameters of K(> 2) two-parameter exponential distributions in presence of unspecified location parameters based on complete and type II censored samples. We develop a marginal likelihood ratio statistic, a quadratic statistic (Qu) (Nelson, 1982) based on maximum marginal likelihood estimates of the scale parameters under the null and the alternative hypotheses, a C(a) statistic (CPL) (Neyman, 1959) based on the profile likelihood estimate of the scale parameter under the null hypothesis and an extremal scale parameter ratio statistic (ESP) (McCool, 1979). We show that the marginal likelihood ratio statistic is equivalent to the modified Bartlett test statistic. We use Bartlett's small sample correction to the marginal likelihood ratio statistic and call it the modified marginal likelihood ratio statistic (MLB). We then compare the four statistics, MLBi Qut CPL and ESP in terms of size and power by using Monte Carlo simulation experiments. For the variety of sample sizes and censoring combinations and nominal levels considered the statistic MLB holds nominal level most accurately and based on empirically calculated critical values, this statistic performs best or as good as others in most situations. Two examples are given.  相似文献

We consider a search design for the 2m type such that at most knonnegative effects can be searched among (l+1)-factor interactions and estimated along with the effects up to l- factor interactions, provided (l+1)-factor and higher order interactions are negligible except for the k effects. We investigate some properties of a search design which is yielded by a balanced 2m design of resolution 2l+1 derived from a balanced array of strength 2(l+1). A necessary and sufficient condition for the balanced design of resolution 2l+1 to be a search design for k=1 is given. Optimal search designs for k=1 in the class of the balanced 2m designs of resolution V (l=2), with respect to the AD-optimality criterion given by Srivastava (1977), with N assemblies are also presented, where the range of (m,N) is (m=6; 28≤N≤41), (m=7; 35≤N≤63) and (m=8; 44≤N≤74).  相似文献

Complete sets of orthogonal F-squares of order n = sp, where g is a prime or prime power and p is a positive integer have been constructed by Hedayat, Raghavarao, and Seiden (1975). Federer (1977) has constructed complete sets of orthogonal F-squares of order n = 4t, where t is a positive integer. We give a general procedure for constructing orthogonal F-squares of order n from an orthogonal array (n, k, s, 2) and an OL(s, t) set, where n is not necessarily a prime or prime power. In particular, we show how to construct sets of orthogonal F-squares of order n = 2sp, where s is a prime or prime power and p is a positive integer. These sets are shown to be near complete and approach complete sets as s and/or p become large. We have also shown how to construct orthogonal arrays by these methods. In addition, the best upper bound on the number t of orthogonal F(n, λ1), F(n, λ2), …, F(n, λ1) squares is given.  相似文献

The effect of influental observation son the parameter estimates of ordinary least squares regression models has received considerable a t t e n t i o n fn the last decade. However, very little attention has been given to the problem of influential observation sinthea naysis of variace . The purpose of this paper is to show by way of examples that in fluential observations can alter the conclusions of tests of hypotheses in the analysis of variance . Regression diagno stics for identifying both extreme points and out liers can be used toreveal potential data and design problems.  相似文献

Extending the results in Sargan (1976 Sargan , J. D. ( 1976 ). Econometric estimators and the Edgeworth approximation . Econometrica 44 : 421448 .[Crossref], [Web of Science ®] [Google Scholar]) and Tanaka (1984 Tanaka , K. ( 1984 ). An asymptotic expansion associated with the maximum likelihood estimators in ARMA models . J. Roy. Statist. Soc. B 46 : 5867 . [Google Scholar]), we derive the asymptotic expansions of the distribution, the bias and the mean squared error of the MM and QML estimators of the first-order autocorrelation and the MA parameter for the MA(1) model. It turns out that the asymptotic properties of the estimators depend on whether the mean of the process is known or estimated. A comparison of the moment expansions, either in terms of bias or MSE, reveals that there is not uniform superiority of neither of the estimators, when the mean of the process is estimated. This is also confirmed by simulations. In the zero-mean case, and on theoretical grounds, the QMLEs are superior to the MM ones in both bias and MSE terms. We also discuss how the approximations are affected by moderate deviations from the unit root case. The results presented here are important for bias correction and increasing the efficiency of the estimators.  相似文献
