Evaluating Communicative Teaching Method With Consideration of Psycholinguistics

Communicative language teaching has been in vogue in the past ten years. Being a language teaching method, it is closely related to linguistics, sociology, educeational theories and so on, psycholinguisties, a branch of linguistics focusing on the mental processes involved in human being's language acquisition and production, play a most important role in the study of language teaching, including communicative language teaching (CLT) of course. In this paper the writer will evaluate the CLT with the consideration of psycholinguistics to what extent CLT is helpful for second language teaching and learning.

营养信息干预对农户作物营养强化新品种采纳的影响

Biofortification is an emerging intervention to alleviate hidden hunger in China.How to increase farmers’ adoption of biofortified agricultural products is a real problem of biofortification in a context of information asymmetry.Based on experimental method to investigate the influence of nutrition-information intervention on farmer’s willingness to adopt biofortified agricultural products,our research takes the example of iron-rich rice and discuss the moderating effect of value appeals,source of nutrition-information and the scale of farmer operations.The result reveals:1) in the context of information asymmetry,the nutrition-information intervention has a significant positive effect on farmers’ willingness to adopt biofortified agricultural products; 2) the relationship between nutrition-information intervention and farmers’ willingness to adopt is moderated by the farmers’ value appeals.No matter which value appeals farmers hold,nutrition-information intervention can improve their willingness to adopt,and the nutrition-information intervention has a more significant effect on nutrition oriented farmers’ willingness to adopt; 3) the relationship between nutrition-information intervention and farmers’ willingness to adopt is moderated by the scale of farmer.Compared with small-scale and large-scale farmers,nutrition-information intervention has a more significant effect on medium-scale farmers’ willingness to adopt iron-rich rice; 4) the relationship between nutrition-information intervention and farmers’ willingness to adopt is moderated by the source of nutrition-information.Compared with the information from seed companies,nutrition-information intervention has a more significant effect on farmers’ willingness to adopt when the information comes from government agencies,interpersonal communication and media.Therefore,it is suggested to enforce nutrition information intervention and pay attention to the moderating effect of farmers’ value appeals,source of nutrition-information and the scale of farmer operations on the impact of nutrition information intervention on farmers’ willingness to adopt.     

大学英语教师职业倦怠现状的调查研究

This study aims to examine the prevalence of job burnout and its probable causes among College English teachers. Data were collected among a random sampling of 270 College English Teachers who filled out the Chinese Maslach Burnout Inventory （ CMBI） and a socio-demographic inventory. The findings indicate that College English Teachers register a low-to-average degree of job burnout with the detection rate of 75. 4% . Group differences on the three dimensions are determined by different factors. Reduced personal accomplishment shows significant difference on gender and marital status. Emotional exhaustion shows significant difference on highest degree and number of years on the job. Differences on all three dimensions are observed concerning academic title and school type,though not significant.

Professor and Dr. Shi Qing-huan, female and Han nationality, was born in Shuangliao, Jilin Province in 1958. She is a professor of School of History in Liaoning University currently and taught in History. Department of Heilongjiang University and Northeast Normal University in the past. She is a member of Council on American History Research Association of China. Her teaching and research focus on the modern--contemporary world history and American political system history. She got funds from United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia and did research on ＂The Comparative Studies on Bureaucracy between China and The West＂ in Augustana College of the United State from 1997 to 1998. She again got funds from Fulbright Program and worked on ＂The Civil Service and Bureaucracy in The United States＂ in Texas University at San Antonio of the United States from 2001 to 2002. She has published four books which mainly include The United States Civil Service and Bureaucracy in the 20th Century. Additionally she has published more than thirty articles in core social science journals of China such as World History, American Studies, Journal of Historical Science and Journal of Historical Collection.

Abstracts and Key Words of Major Articles Wang Guowei and Gong Zizhen PENG Yu-ping （Department of Chinese, Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, Guangdong 510275） Abstract： The poems and Ci of Gong Zizhen are unique in style. Besides, situated in the Chinese transitional stage, the internal world that his works carried and the historical responsibilities his works assumed co-existed paradoxically. The six volume Gongding＇an quanji edited by Wang Guowei was thus logically influential on Wang＇s literature and academic practice. This paper has Gong Zizhen＇s influence on Wang Guowei as the basic thread, with the large number of uses of ＂renjian＂ （human world） by both, and exposes their likely common derivation and the differences between them. There is strongly theoretical co-relatlon between Gong Zizhen＇ s zunqing （respect of emotion） and the natural expression of the real scenes and real feelings stressed in Wang Guowei＇s Jingjieshuo （theory of state）. ＂Wan＂（~） illustrated by Gong Zizhen was actually the basic principle on which Wang Guowei interpreted the works of Qu Yuan. In the process in which Wang Guowei absorbed some of the thoughts of Gong Zizhen, Wu Changshou, who edited Ding＇an wenji （Anthology of Ding＇an） and compiled Ding＇an xiansheng nianpu （Chronicle of Mr. Ding＇an）, played an important role. From Wang Guowei, some of the influence of Gong Zizhen on the creation of poetry and poetic thoughts in the 20th century can be seen.     

An Experimental Investigation on Hydrostatic Extrusion of Tubes

Through qualitative and quantitative analysis of the specimens hydroextruded, we explore the effecis of the technology parameters on the rules of the metal-flow deformation. Visioplasticity method is applied to numerical analysis of tubes(or rods). Based on the results of numerical analysis, it is noticed that there is considerable tensile strain in the inner wall of the billet near the inner side of the outlet of the die. The place and the form of fractures are discussed. In analysing some groups of specimens with variable parameters, different materials and different heat-treatment techniques are used. It should be pointed out here that rules of axisymmetric laminal flow of metallic billets hydroextruded are dependent upon the material and mechanical boundary conditions. Such flow rules have influenced not only the stress fields of the deformation zone of billet, but also the distribution of residual stresses of the tube. The optimization of the parameters is also discussed.     

Development and Utilization of Global/World Models in International Affairs

The development and utilization of global/world models in the context of political implications of world economic trends is overviewed in terms of three streams of research, that of the multidisciplinary social scientists, of the econometricians, and of the system engineers. Socio-political processes impinge on world economic trends, just as such trends in turn impact on politics, both national and international. The use of simulations rich in system dynamics for the study of international affairs is found to have much potential, as documented in findings obtained by researchers throughout the world.

SUPERVISION AND NATURAL MONOPOLY IN NATURAL GAS TRANSMISSION AND DISTRIBUTION
Abstract：Natural gas transmission and distribution is of a very high level of natural monopoly, which provides the basis for economies of scale but on the other hand has some drawbacks. For the purposes of consumer rights and sus- tainable development of natural gas industry, effective supervision must be implemented by government. Based on natural monopoly theory and natural gas supervision policies overseas, this paper suggests that supervision of natural gas transmission and distribution in China should cover the following aspects：establishment of natural gas network access system, restriction on pipeline transportation prices and franchise to natural gas transmission and distribution. Strategies of effective supervision are also suggested.

Taking Advantage of Local Medical Colleges and Universities to Serve the Development of Public Health Undertakings on the West Side of the Taiwan Straits

Abstract：The paper sets out to analyze common problems existing in public health services on the west side of the Taiwan Straits, and then probes into potential roles local medical colleges and universities would play in the control and prevention of public health emergencies, building of public health care system in communities, and policy-making in relation to public health care, as well as the policy and financial support local governments are expected to provide. It is hoped that the ideas presented in this paper might provide beneficial references for further development of public health undertakings on the west side of the Taiwan Straits.

严谨莫如辞书 千虑不可一失

This paper presents a brief survey on the status quo of domestically published bilanguage dictionaries in English and Chinese. It consists of three parts. Tart one is concerned with the author's concept on impeccable classic dictionary. The second part specifies the mistakes in some of the bilanguage dictionaries and makes analyses of them. In the third part the author stresses the view - point that the first important thing for dictionary compilers to do is to comprehend fully whtat dictionary is. Only when compilers make penetrating comprehension of it can they pay painstaking efforts in dictionary- editing work, and can impeccable classic dictionaries be produced.
