Abstract The present study used a sign to increase the number of pushed in chairs within 2 sections of an undergraduate educational psychology course at a university in the southeastern United States. This may have increased the opportunity for students with mobility limitations to select from a wider variety of seating. After posting a sign, at least 20% more chairs were pushed in across each section. Following removal of the sign, chairs continued to be pushed in at a level consistent with intervention. Compared with other studies that have used signs to effect change, the fact that the same population of users was exposed to the sign may explain the discrepant results in the literature regarding level of behavioral persistence after signs had been withdrawn. Cost efficiency, support for using a behavioral prompt, and future research is discussed. 相似文献

Sport injuries restrict participation, impose a substantial economic burden, and can have persisting adverse effects on health‐related quality of life. The effective use of Internet of Things (IoT), when combined with analytics approaches, can improve player safety through identification of injury risk factors that can be addressed by targeted risk reduction training activities. Use of IoT devices can facilitate highly efficient quantification of relevant functional capabilities prior to sport participation, which could substantially advance the prevailing sport injury management paradigm. This study introduces a framework for using sensor‐derived IoT data to supplement other data for objective estimation of each individual college football player's level of injury risk, which is an approach to injury prevention that has not been previously reported. A cohort of 45 NCAA Division I‐FCS college players provided data in the form of self‐ratings of persisting effects of previous injuries and single‐leg postural stability test. Instantaneous change in body mass acceleration (jerk) during the test was quantified by a smartphone accelerometer, with data wirelessly transmitted to a secure cloud server. Injuries sustained from the beginning of practice sessions until the end of the 13‐game season were documented, along with the number of games played by each athlete over the course of a 13‐game season. Results demonstrate a strong prediction model. Our approach may have strong relevance to the estimation of injury risk for other physically demanding activities. Clearly, there is great potential for improvement of injury prevention initiatives through identification of individual athletes who possess elevated injury risk and targeted interventions. 相似文献

This paper seeks to draw empirical attention to the relationship between legitimacy and reputation in institutionalized fields. Norwegian hospitals find themselves in a strongly institutionalized field and do not want to differentiate from each other, despite seeking a favorable reputation. In order to acquire insights into the conditions that prompt organizations to reject differentiation, we carried out qualitative interviews with the hospitals’ communication directors. Three sets of justifications for not differentiating emerged from an inductive analysis of these interviews. Differentiation is not adapted to the universalistic needs of the hospitals, not in accordance with solidarity norms, and not a pragmatic solution. The analysis suggests that the hospitals face a trade‐off between the contradictory demands of similarity and difference and hence legitimacy and reputation: They renounce the advantage of a unique reputation (i.e. competitive advantage) in order to retain the benefits of conformity (i.e. legitimacy). Implications of these findings for our understanding of the relative salience of legitimacy and reputation and the dynamics between them are discussed. 相似文献

随着物联网技术的快速发展,物联网环境下的农产品供应链模式日趋成熟。我国农产品供应链正处在由传统农产品供应链向现代农产品供应链转型的关键时期。新技术手段的应用、新的供应链运作模式,在提升农产品供应链的价值和降低传统供应链风险的同时,也带来了新的风险。首先,根据物联网环境下的农产品供应链运作模式,按照物联网的三个层次对整个农产品供应链上的风险加以识别,总结出来物联网环境下的农产品供应链风险因素包括感知层风险、网络层风险、应用层风险以及其他风险。然后,使用OWA算子对风险因素进行定量评估与排序,接着依据风险评估的结果使用供应链风险扩散收敛模型找出衡量供应链风险波动的定量指标。最后,根据前面模型的计算结果,提出了物联网环境下的农产品供应链风险管理与控制的措施和建议。 相似文献
