湖北省“母乳喂养支持”试点项目在汉启动

In conjunction with China＇s 20）. the Office of the Working Breastfeeding Day （on May Committee on Children and Women of Hubei Province （in Central China）, the Health and Family Planning Commission of Hubei Province, and the Hubei Federation of Trade Unions on May 19 launched a pilot project to support breastfeeding in Wuhan （capital of Hubei Province）. Wu Hongya, Vice-President of Hubei Women＇s Federation, hosted the event.     

关爱儿童

Officials from the China Family Education Society （CFES） and the Department for Children, under the All-China Women＇s Federation （ACWF）, hosted social work and family education training at the Foshan Training Base （in Guangdong Province） of CFES from October 9-12. More than 70 people, from the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, women＇s federations and departments of Education from 12 provinces, autonomous regions or municipalities, participated.     

河北省石家庄市关注儿童健康成长

Sun Ruibin, Secretary of the Shijiazhuang （a city in Hebei Province） Municipal CPC （Communist Party of China） Committee, leaders from the Shijiazhuang Municipal Government, Education Bureau and the women＇s federation, on May 29 made a special tour of Chang＇an District No. 1 Kindergarten, to celebrate International Children＇s Day （June I） with the kids.     

Chongqing Improving Kindergarten Education for Migrant Workers＇ Children

A team, composed of representatives of the Office of the National Working Colnmittee on Children and Women （NWCCW）, the Office of the United Nations International Children＇s Emergency Fund （UNICEF） in China. the UNICEF Geneva Office and the IKEA Foundation, on September 5 monitored Chongqing （a municipality in Southwest China）＇s efforts to improve kindergarten education for migrant workers＇ children.     

全国妇联启动“家庭和美”短信、彩信征集活动

The All-China Women＇s Federation （ACWF） oil March 7 （on the eve of International Women＇s Day） launched the activity of collecting both short and multimedia messages that dealt with the pro,notion of harmonious relations amongst family members. The activity was sponsored by ACWF, with support from China Women＇s News, Women of China Chinese monthly, and China Society for the Study of Marriage and Family.

“美丽中国爱心行”走进玉树 Led by Chen Xiaoxia, Secretary-General of the China Children and Teenagers＇ Foundation （CCTF）, a group from the foundation＇s ＂Love Travel in China＂ project began a two-day visit to Yushu Tibetan Prefecture, in northwestern China＇s Qinghai Province, on September 24, 2013. The prefecture was rocked by a 7.1-magnitude earthquake on April 14, 2010.     

家庭教育专家谈“家风”

The All-China Women＇s Federation （ACWF） is looking for the most beautiful family in China. In conjunction with the search, officials from ACWF＇s Department for Children and the China Family Education Society （CFES） have held discussions about ＂family tradition.＂     

Promoting Harmony within Families

The ACWF and the Chinese Women＇s Research Society （CWRS） held, in Beijing on October 30, a seminar on eradicating sexual harassment in universities. Tan Lin, Member of ACWF＇s Secretariat and Vice-President of CWRS, Gao Shawei, Director of ACWF＇s Legal Department, and Xu Tao, Director of the Teachers＇ Department of China＇s Ministry of Education, spoke during the event. More than 50 people -- including leaders and teachers from 22 universities （in various regions of China）, each of which has established a women and gender research and training base with ACWF and CWRS＇s help -- attended. During the seminar, many participants offeredsuggestions on how to curb and prevent sexual harassment.     

“好妈好爸好家风”宣传展示活动全面开展

The Good Mother, Good Father and Good Family Tradition activity was launched, in April, by the Department for Children, under the All-China Women＇s Federation （ACWF）, the China Family Education Society and the National On-line Parent School. The activity is scheduled to end in August.     

Protecting Rural Women＇s Land-related Rights

The China Society for the Study of Marriage and Family （CSSMF） and zhenai.com, one of China＇s best-known matchmaking websites, on October 14 hosted the ceremony to launch the First Forum on Marriages and Families and the Projects of Improving Chinese Marriages and Family Relations. The event was held in Beijing.     

国务院妇儿工委办公室组织专家开展“儿童纲要实施项目”国家级督导

To promote the National Program for Children＇s Development （2011-2020）, the Office of the National Working Committee on Children and Women （NWCCW） under the State Council, in cooperation with the United Nations International Children＇s Emergency Fund （UNICEF）, implemented a five-year （2011- 2015） project to promote implementation of the program in the 20 counties, cities or districts in which the project was introduced. The purpose of the project is to help solve the problems children face in their lives, to promote children＇s development and to protect children＇s legal rights and interests.     

国务院妇儿工委办公室编制新两纲研讨会召开

The National Working Committee on Children and Women under the State Council （NWCCW） held a seminar on establishing two programs to promote the development of Chinese women and children. The seminar was held on April 7 2010, in Changsha, Central China＇s Hunan Province.     

国务院妇儿工委办公室领导调研安阳两纲实施工作

Led by Su Fengjie, Deputy Director of the Office of the National Working Committee on Children and Women （NWCCW）, a team from NWCCW recently completed an inspection tour of Anyang （in Central China＇s Henan Province）, during which the team＇s members monitored the city＇s efforts to implement the National Program for Women＇s Development （2011-2020） and the National Program for Children＇s Development （2011-2020） （the two NPAs）.     

青岛市妇儿工委办进一步推进为妇女儿童办实事工作

The Shandong Provincial Party （Communist Party of China） Committee has included work related to the protection of women and children＇s legal rights and interests in the standards for the evaluation of government organs＇ work. Officials of the Qingdao （a city in East China＇s Shandong Province） Working Committee on Children and Women recently monitored the city＇s work related to women and children, and they concluded the city had done the following during the first half of this year：     

Educating Juvenile Offenders

Leaders of Zaozhuang （a city in East China＇s Shandong Province） Women＇s Federation visit orphans and disabled children in Zaozhuang Children＇s Welfare Office. The hospital of the 22nd Regiment of the Second Agricultural Division of the Xinjiang （in Northwest China） Production and Construction Corps, in Xinjiang＇s Hejing County, recently distributed, among doctors and nurses, a handbook to illustrate the importance of working in the frontier.     

反家庭暴力立法国际经验交流会在京召开

The Department for Women＇s Rights and Interests of the All-China Women＇s Federation （ACWF） and the United Nations in China held, in Beijing on April 10- 11, the International Roundtable on the Family Violence Legislation in China.     

全国妇联、国务院妇儿工委办公窒召开反家暴立法研讨会

The All-China Women＇s Federation （ACWF） and the National Working Committee on Children and Women （NWCCW） under the State Council plan to organize experts, who study laws and regulations, to study key and difficult issues related to the promotion of anti-domestic violence legislation. In conjunction with the 14th International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women （on November 25, 2013）, the organizations hosted a seminar to discuss anti-domestic violence legislation in Beijing. Organizers invited experts from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Peking University, China University of Political Science and Law, and the Women＇s Studies Institutes of China, to ACWF＇s headquarters to discuss issues related to the promotion of anti-domestic violence legislation.     

杨澜被任命为联合国儿童基金会中国大使

Well-known Chinese TV hostess and businesswoman Yang Lan was appointed the United Nations Children＇s Fund （UNICEF） Ambassador in China on April 22. Yang became the first ambassador to he appointed by UNICEF＇s office in China.     

弘扬孝老爱亲传统美德 践行社会主义核心价值观——2014“寻找最美孝心少年”大型公益活动成功举办

China Central Television （CCTV） launched the ＂Looking for the Most Beautiful Filial Adolescents＂ campaign in May 2014. Officials from China＇s Ministry of Education, the Office under the Central Commission for Guiding Cultural and Ethical Progress, the Department for Children under the All- China Wolnen＇s Federation （ACWF） and the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League provided guidance during the campaign.     

湘贵甘三省儿童幸福家园项目培训启动

The Office of the National Working Committee on Children and Women （NWCCW） under the State Council and Plan International （China） on August 13 launched, in Shaoyang, in Central China＇s Hunan Province, the training course on the project of happy homcs for children. The project is being undertaken in Hunan, Guizhou （in Southwest China） and Gansu （in Northwest China） provinces.
