论雁塔节场的再生

大雁塔是古城西安的标志性建筑。自唐代以来,就一直有传统的庙会在大慈恩寺内举行。同时这里也是文人墨客荟萃之地。今天,庙会的习俗已经离我们远去,但人们对于民俗节场的需求却仍然存在。新修建的大雁塔北广场以大雁塔为核心,结合主题水景、唐风仿古建筑群、万佛灯塔等景观,把人和环境协调在统一的文化氛围之下,使这里逐渐成为了西安南郊地区的一个颇具特色的文化交流场所。大雁塔北广场和以前的雁塔庙会有很多相似之处:都有大量的附近居民参与,都有一定的时间限制性。另外,在集会的同时,都穿插有大量的商业活动和少量的宗教活动。大雁塔北广场的存在,增强了当地的可识别性,使当地居民产生了归属感。每当广场喷泉表演开始时,昔日雁塔节场的盛况似乎又浮现了出来。

五四精神的命运

“五四”精神是西方现代文化的自由民主精神,它是对中国传统文化的反叛,是中国现代文化的生长点。“五四”救亡运动与启蒙运动属于不同的文化体系,这造成了以东方文化为背景的、属于传统社会领域的社会革命与以西方文化为背景的、属于现代社会领域的文化革命的错位。这种错位的结果是社会革命的成功,“五四”精神的衰退。当前的改革将消除社会革命与文化革命的错位,复兴“五四”精神,全面实现现代化。

报告文学在当代中国扮演了奇特而重要的文化角色,成为一种时代的"文化战车"。报告文学走向文化舞台,负载沉重文化任务,主要是由于时代的感召与呼唤,由于现实文化语境的需要与刺激,它或者成为时代主流文化的渲染者,或者激发了创作个体的独立文化思考。中国当代报告文学不同时期的文化表现,体现了时代文化状况与创作主体主观倾向的密切关系,包含了颇多深层的文化话题。

中国禅学思想与水上勉的“救济”观念——以《五号街夕雾楼》、《雁寺》为中心

水上勉前期代表作《五号街夕雾楼》和《雁寺》体现了佛教尤其是中国慧能思想对其文学创作的影响,作品中的妓女形象都是作为“佛的化身”登场,用乐观和慈悲使得自我在苦难中得到解脱的同时,也实现了对男性的救济.而这种把苦难仅仅看做一种存在形式不执拗在其中的精神,便是中国禅宗“本来无一物”的思想体现.     

Appropriate Use of the Child Abuse Potential Inventory in a Big Brothers/Big Sisters Agency

The present study investigated the utility of the Child Abuse Potential (CAP) Inventory in screening: volunteers for Big Brothers/Big Sisters (BBDS). CAP Abuse scores effectively discriminated between volunteers who were rated excellent versus bad by BBDS agency staff members and between volunteer applicants who were accepted versus rejected by traditional BBDS agency screening method. In a second study, 21 male sexual offenders against children completed the CAP. The CAP Abuse scores for 47% of these males were elevated, suggesting that the CAP alone is insufficient for screening: this disorder. It is useful only as Dart of a multimodal assessment program. Suggestions for incorporating the CAP into the BB/BS screening program are offered.     

Socially Anxious Children at Risk for Victimization: The Role of Personality

This study examines whether Big Five personality traits affect the extent to which a socially anxious child will be victimized. A total of 1814 children participated in the study (mean age = 11.99 years). Children completed self‐reports and peer reports of victimization, which were aggregated, and self‐reports of social anxiety and Big Five personality traits. A regression analysis was performed to study the moderating effect of personality traits on the relation between social anxiety and victimization. Socially anxious children scoring high on extraversion are less at risk for victimization than socially anxious children scoring low on extraversion. In addition, socially anxious boys scoring high on agreeableness were less at risk for victimization than socially anxious boys scoring low on agreeableness. Conscientiousness, neuroticism, and openness to experience did not moderate the relation between social anxiety and victimization.     

‘He told me to calm down and all that’: a qualitative study of forms of social support in youth mentoring relationships

The worldwide growth in formal youth mentoring programmes over the past two decades is partly a response to the perception that young people facing adversity do not have access to supportive relationships with adults and positive role models in their communities to the degree they once had. Formal mentoring programmes facilitate the development of a friendship or ‘match’ between an older volunteer and a young person, with the objective of supporting the young persons’ personal and social development. Drawing on 66 semi‐structured interviews with young people, parents, mentors and caseworkers associated with nine youth mentoring matches in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Programme in Ireland, this paper analyses the forms of social support evident in the mentor–mentee relationships and highlights how the mentoring relationship was perceived to have impacted on the well‐being of the young people participating. The findings reflect the consensus in the mentoring literature that close, well‐established mentoring relationships have the potential to bring about meaningful change in the lives of young people.     

Legal Control over Big Data Criminal Investigation

The rapid growth of big data technology has become a major trend affecting the pattern of world development. Big data criminal investigation is a new type of criminal detection used extensively in the course of police practice at home and abroad. Its emergence indicates a trend in criminal justice towards ensuring security at the expense of privacy and exchanging rights for information. Big data criminal investigation highlights the backwardness and dysfunction of the traditional framework of legal norms, evident in doubts about the legal attributes of such investigation and the obvious limitations of techniques for distinguishing data content from metadata. This leaves a vacuum in the regulation of investigative power at the preliminary stage of investigation. Big data criminal investigation itself is a double-edge sword; in order to forestall the possible abuses it may entail in terms of deep and broad interventions in basic civil rights, big data criminal investigation should be brought under the necessary legal control. We therefore propose adopting a dual regulatory approach comprising investigative and data norms, selectively adopting the traditional normative framework of the principle of legality and the principle of proportionality, and at the same time supplementing it with other legal principles and mechanisms concerning the protection of personal information and data.

State-level personality and presidential vote share in the 2008 and 2012 presidential elections

Recent research has examined how variation across the states in the “Big Five” personality trait taxonomy helps explain the proportion of votes the presidential candidates receive in the states, concluding that state personality traits had a direct effect on presidential vote share in the 1996, 2000, and 2004 presidential elections. The current study has three goals: First, to examine the influence of personality traits on Barack Obama's vote share in the 2008 and 2012 elections; second to test whether the influence of personality traits on vote share holds under stricter controls for political factors and white racial prejudice; and, third, to test for potential meditating effects of state-level political characteristics and white racial prejudice in linking state-level personality traits with Obama's vote share. The findings indicate that two state personality traits – conscientiousness and openness – had indirect effects on Obama's 2008 and 2012 vote share through their influence on state ideology, partisanship, and white racial prejudice.
