The Water-splashing Festival may be the most well-known festival of the ethnic minoritiesby people in China. It became popular because Zhou Enlai the first premier of New China participated in the festival, and is also remembered by generations of people because the story has been written in primary school textbooks. Like many other Chinese, the festival is quite a mystery and attraction to me. I always has the hope to experience it on my own.  相似文献

Status QuoAn epidemiological survey jointly conducted by China and the WHO and UNAIDS indicates that China now has 840,000 people living with HIV/AIDS, 80,000 of whom are AIDS patients. Although this figure translates into a mere 0.6‰ of the country's total population, the total number comes the second place in Asia and the 14th in the world. The prevalence rate among adults is less than 0.1%, but the epidemic has been found in all the 31 provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions) of the country and the number of newly-infected people is increasing fast. Major methods of HIV transmission include drug-taking, blood donation (a major means of living for farmers in some impoverished regions) and sex.  相似文献

China is a transitional and developing country with the largest population and number of farmers in the world, and shows a striking feature of urban-rural dual structure. The major content in China's rising modernization is the process of urbanization transformation, urbanization of small and middle-sized city in China should become the basic path selection. Which involves three important issues: concept, people, and institution. Only based on the modernization of concept, people and institution, there will automatically generate the modernization of industry, agriculture, technology and national defense, and thus consistently developing prosperous of both the country and the citizens.  相似文献

A Revolutionary Change Reform by nature is a complicated undertaking;the most important thing is to develop a modern spirit and vision first. After more than 30 years of arduous efforts,China achieved a stable, low fertility rate in the late-1990s,an impressive feat. However, the country s population and family planning sector still retained many remnants of the planned-economy era, which is increasingly incompatible with socioeconomic reform. It has become imperative that the family planning sector catch up with the pace of overall reform in China. Reform against such a backdrop has therefore assumed a special importance and urgency. It is not a piecemeal fix of the original system, but rather a revolutionary change. The basic starting point is putting people first and letting people be the greatest beneficiary of reform.  相似文献

On the basis of MARKAL-MACRO model of"Energy-Economy-Environment"system and Keyfitz model of demography, energy demand in China in the future was calculated.Three scenarios were put forward taking into account of energy efficiency, energy structure and restriction of climate change.CO2 Emissions in China will reach peak value 11.85 Gt in 2042 in reference scenario;10.75 Gt in 2036 in optimized scenario;and 9.47 Gt in 2031 in restriction scenario of climate change. Compare with reference scenario, carbon emissions in restriction scenario of climate change will decline by 2.38 Gt,and peak time will be llyears earlier. With the development of urbanization and industrialization, carbon emissions from electric power, cement, steel will rise gradually then go down;but emissions from traffic will go up continuously because of the increase of vehicle fleet.  相似文献
