The additive AR-2D model has been successfully related to the modeling of satelital images both optic and of radar of synthetic opening. Having in mind the errors that are produced in the process of captation and quantification of the image, an interesting subject, is the robust estimation of the parameters in this model. Besides the robust methods in image models are also applied in some important image processing situations such as segmentation by texture and image restoration in the presence of outliers. This paper is concerned with the development and performance of the robust RA estimator proposed by Ojeda (1998) for the estimation of parameters in contaminated AR-2D models. Here, we implement this estimator and we show by simulation study that it has a better performance than the classic least square estimator and the robust M and GM estimators in an additive outlier contaminated image model.  相似文献

We consider the static linear panel data model with a single regressor. For this model, we derive the LIML estimator. We study the asymptotic behavior of this estimator under many-instruments asymptotics, by showing its consistency, deriving its asymptotic variance, and by presenting an estimator of the asymptotic variance that is consistent under many-instruments asymptotics. We briefly indicate the extension to the static panel data model with multiple regressors.  相似文献

In this paper a new robust estimator, modified median estimator, is introduced and studied for the logistic regression model. This estimator is based on the median estimator considered in Hobza et al. [Robust median estimator in logistic regression. J Stat Plan Inference. 2008;138:3822–3840]. Its asymptotic distribution is obtained. Using the modified median estimator, we also consider a Wald-type test statistic for testing linear hypotheses in the logistic regression model and we obtain its asymptotic distribution under the assumption of random regressors. An extensive simulation study is presented in order to analyse the efficiency as well as the robustness of the modified median estimator and Wald-type test based on it.  相似文献

We consider the problem of estimating the quantiles of a distribution function in a fixed design regression model in which the observations are subject to random right censoring. The quantile estimator is defined via a conditional Kaplan-Meier type estimator for the distribution at a given design point. We establish an a.s. asymptotic representation for this quantile estimator, from which we obtain its asymptotic normality. Because a complicated estimation procedure is necessary for estimating the asymptotic bias and variance, we use a resampling procedure, which provides us, via an asymptotic representation for the bootstrapped estimator, with an alternative for the normal approximation.  相似文献

This paper compares least squares (LS)/maximum likelihood (ML) and generalised method of moments (GMM) estimation in a simple. Gaussian autoregressive of order one (AR(1)) model. First, we show that the usual LS/ML estimator is a corner solution to a general minimisation problem that involves two moment conditions, while the new GMM we devise is not. Secondly, we examine asymptotic and finite sample properties of the new GMM estimator in comparison to the usual LS/ML estimator in a simple AR(1) model. For both stable and unstable (unit root) specifications, we show asymptotic equivalence of the distributions of the two estimators. However, in finite samples, the new GMM estimator performs better.  相似文献

In this paper we consider the conditional Koziol–Green model of Braekers and Veraverbeke [2008. A conditional Koziol–Green model under dependent censoring. Statist. Probab. Lett., accepted for publication] in which they generalized the Koziol–Green model of Veraverbeke and Cadarso Suárez [2000. Estimation of the conditional distribution in a conditional Koziol–Green model. Test 9, 97–122] by assuming that the association between a censoring time and a time until an event is described by a known Archimedean copula function. They got in this way, an informative censoring model with two different types of informative censoring. Braekers and Veraverbeke [2008. A conditional Koziol–Green model under dependent censoring. Statist. Probab. Lett., accepted for publication] derived in this model a non-parametric Koziol–Green estimator for the conditional distribution function of the time until an event, for which they showed the uniform consistency and the asymptotic normality. In this paper we extend their results and prove the weak convergence of the process associated to this estimator. Furthermore we show that the conditional Koziol–Green estimator is asymptotically more efficient in this model than the general copula-graphic estimator of Braekers and Veraverbeke [2005. A copula-graphic estimator for the conditional survival function under dependent censoring. Canad. J. Statist. 33, 429–447]. As last result, we construct an asymptotic confidence band for the conditional Koziol–Green estimator. Through a simulation study, we investigate the small sample properties of this asymptotic confidence band. Afterwards we apply this estimator and its confidence band on a practical data set.  相似文献

We discuss three classes of bivariate symmetry models and study the estimation of their distribution functions (DFs). Under radial symmetry, an estimator based on the mean of the empirical and survival DFs is considered. For exchangeable symmetry, an estimator based on the mean of the empirical DF and its exchangeable image is presented. At their intersection, we define radial exchangeability and study estimation of its DF. The symmetrized estimators coincide with the non parametric maximum likelihood estimators of the DF under each model. We obtain their mean and variance and state their asymptotic normality. The relative efficiency of the estimators for the bivariate normal distribution is obtained.  相似文献

Abstract

The main goal of this paper is to study the estimation of the conditional hazard function of a scalar response variable Y given a hilbertian random variable X in functional single-index model. We construct an estimator of this nonparametric function and we study its asymptotic properties, under quasi-associated structure. Precisely, we establish the asymptotic normality of the constructed estimator. We carried out simulation experiments to examine the behavior of this asymptotic property over finite sample data.  相似文献

This paper considers a non parametric longitudinal model, where the within-subject correlation structure is represented by a time-depending autoregressive error process. An initial estimator without taking into account the within-subject correlation is obtained to fit the time-depending autoregressive error process. With the initial estimator, we construct a two-stage local linear estimator of the mean function. According to the asymptotic normality of the initial and two-stage estimators, it is discovered that the two-stage estimator has a smaller asymptotic variance. The simulation results show us that the two-stage estimation has some good properties. The analysis of a data set demonstrates its application.  相似文献

In this paper we propose a new nonparametric estimator of the conditional distribution function under a semiparametric censorship model. We establish an asymptotic representation of the estimator as a sum of iid random variables, balanced by some kernel weights. This representation is used for obtaining large sample results such as the rate of uniform convergence of the estimator, or its limit distributional law. We prove that the new estimator outperforms the conditional Kaplan–Meier estimator for censored data, in the sense that it exhibits lower asymptotic variance. Illustration through real data analysis is provided.  相似文献

We consider asymptotic expansion of the nonparametric M-estimator in a fixed-design nonlinear regression model when the errors are generated by long-memory linear processes. Under mild conditions, we show that the nonparametric M-estimator is first-order equivalent to the Nadaraya-Watson (NW) estimator, which implies that the nonparametric M-estimator has the same asymptotic distribution as that of the NW estimator. Furthermore, we study the second-order asymptotic expansion of the nonparametric M-estimator and show that the difference between the nonparametric M-estimator and the NW estimator has a limiting distribution after suitable standardization. The nature of the limiting distribution depends on the range of long-memory parameter α. We also compare the finite sample behavior of the two estimators through a numerical example when the errors are long-memory.  相似文献

In this article we establish pointwise asymptotic normality of nonparametric kernel estimator of regression function for a left truncation model. It is assumed that the lifetime observations with multivariate covariates form a stationary α-mixing sequence. Also, the asymptotic normality of the estimation of the covariable's density is considered. As a by-product, we obtain a uniform weak convergence rate for the product-limit estimator of the lifetime and truncated distributions under dependence, which is interesting independently. Finite sample behavior of the estimator of the regression function is investigated as well.  相似文献

The problem of interest is to estimate the concentration curve and the area under the curve (AUC) by estimating the parameters of a linear regression model with an autocorrelated error process. We introduce a simple linear unbiased estimator of the concentration curve and the AUC. We show that this estimator constructed from a sampling design generated by an appropriate density is asymptotically optimal in the sense that it has exactly the same asymptotic performance as the best linear unbiased estimator. Moreover, we prove that the optimal design is robust with respect to a minimax criterion. When repeated observations are available, this estimator is consistent and has an asymptotic normal distribution. Finally, a simulated annealing algorithm is applied to a pharmacokinetic model with correlated errors.  相似文献

Abstract. In this article, we develop a test for the null hypothesis that a real‐valued function belongs to a given parametric set against the non‐parametric alternative that it is monotone, say decreasing. The method is described in a general model that covers the monotone density model, the monotone regression and the right‐censoring model with monotone hazard rate. The criterion for testing is an ‐distance between a Grenander‐type non‐parametric estimator and a parametric estimator computed under the null hypothesis. A normalized version of this distance is shown to have an asymptotic normal distribution under the null, whence a test can be developed. Moreover, a bootstrap procedure is shown to be consistent to calibrate the test.  相似文献

In this paper, we define the nonlinear wavelet estimator of density for the right censoring model with the censoring indicator missing at random (MAR), and develop its asymptotic expression for mean integrated squared error (MISE). Unlike for kernel estimator, the MISE expression of the estimator is not affected by the presence of discontinuities in the curve. Meanwhile, asymptotic normality of the estimator is established. The proposed estimator can reduce to the estimator defined by Li [Non-linear wavelet-based density estimators under random censorship. J Statist Plann Inference. 2003;117(1):35–58] when the censoring indicator MAR does not occur and a bandwidth in non-parametric estimation is close to zero. Also, we define another two nonlinear wavelet estimators of the density. A simulation is done to show the performance of the three proposed estimators.  相似文献

We estimate model parameters of Lévy‐driven causal continuous‐time autoregressive moving average random fields by fitting the empirical variogram to the theoretical counterpart using a weighted least squares (WLS) approach. Subsequent to deriving asymptotic results for the variogram estimator, we show strong consistency and asymptotic normality of the parameter estimator. Furthermore, we conduct a simulation study to assess the quality of the WLS estimator for finite samples. For the simulation, we utilize numerical approximation schemes based on truncation and discretization of stochastic integrals and we analyze the associated simulation errors in detail. Finally, we apply our results to real data of the cosmic microwave background.  相似文献

In this paper, we show that if the Euclidean parameter of a semiparametric model can be estimated through an estimating function, we can extend straightforwardly conditions by Dmitrienko and Govindarajulu [2000. Ann. Statist. 28 (5), 1472–1501] in order to prove that the estimator indexed by any regular sequence (sequential estimator), has the same asymptotic behavior as the non-sequential estimator. These conditions also allow us to obtain the asymptotic normality of the stopping rule, for the special case of sequential confidence sets. These results are applied to the proportional hazards model, for which we show that after slight modifications, the classical assumptions given by Andersen and Gill [1982. Ann. Statist. 10(4), 1100–1120] are sufficient to obtain the asymptotic behavior of the sequential version of the well-known [Cox, 1972. J. Roy. Statist. Soc. Ser. B (34), 187–220] partial maximum likelihood estimator. To prove this result we need to establish a strong convergence result for the regression parameter estimator, involving mainly exponential inequalities for both continuous martingales and some basic empirical processes. A typical example of a fixed-width confidence interval is given and illustrated by a Monte Carlo study.  相似文献

In this paper we propose a nonparametric kernel method of estimating response coefficients in the stochastic regressors model. The method is straightforward, and the estimator is easy to calculate. The asymptotic normality of the proposed estimator is established, and an illustrative example is presented.  相似文献

We consider the estimation of a location parameter θ in a one-sample problem. A measure of the asymptotic performance of an estimator sequence {Tn} = T is given by the exponential rate of convergence to zero of the tail probability, which for consistent estimator sequences is bounded by a constant, B (θ, ?), called the Bahadur bound. We consider two consistent estimators: the maximum-likelihood estimator (mle) and a consistent estimator based on a likelihood-ratio statistic, which we call the probability-ratio estimator (pre). In order to compare the local behaviour of these estimators, we obtain Taylor series expansions in ? for B (θ, ?) and the exponential rates of the mle and pre. Finally, some numerical work is presented in which we consider a variety of underlying distributions.  相似文献

Likelihood Analysis of the I(2) Model   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The I (2) model is defined as a submodel of the general vector autoregressive model, by two reduced rank conditions. The model describes stochastic processes with stationary second difference. A parametrization is suggested which makes likelihood inference feasible. Consistency of the maximum likelihood estimator is proved, and the asymptotic distribution of the maximum likelihood estimator is given. It is shown that the asymptotic distribution is either Gaussian, mixed Gaussian or, in some cases, even more complicated.  相似文献
