多彩活动庆中欧建交30周年(英文)

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of EU-China diplomatic relations, the European Commission Delegation in Beijing held some special competitions this year. The painting competition with the theme of "EU and Me" was open to students of the 3,000 EU-sponsored primary schools in Gansu Province. The competition was organized by the EU Delegation, together with the Department of Education of Gansu Province and the EU-China Basic Education Project. The 10 winners were invited to Beijing, as guests of the delegation, for three days of fun including Children's Day celebrations. The Gansu Basic Education Project is jointly

Safe-Healthy Growth Project Trips to the Northeast安康计划东北行活动启动On September 3, the All-China Women's Federation started the activities "safe-healthy growth project trips to the Northeast" in Fuxin City of Northeast China's Liaoning Province. The safe-healthy growth project was established in 2000 by the ACWF. Its aim is to help children stay in school and protect them from illness, injury and crime.

The conference to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Safe and Healthy Growth Project, or Ankang Project, was held on November 2 in the Great Hall of the People, in Beijing. Chen Zhili, Vice-Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People＇s Congress, President of the All-China Women＇s Federation （ACWF） and President of the China Children and Teenagers＇ Fund （CCTF）, delivered a speech at the event.     

Canada Aids Chinese Women~! s Project

"THE Canada-China Women in Development Project is like a seed which, after being nurtured by women's federations across China, has grown, fruited and expanded." Spring Bud Project Yields Fruit

The forty-five students of the "Spring Bud" class of Dalangtang Primary School, Miao Autonomous County, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, finished their primary school education and graduated with excellent marks. These Miao and Yao ethnic girls, who had previously dropped out of school, were funded by the "Spring Bud Project" to continue their education several years ago. Seven girls have won the second and third prizes in the Liuzhou prefectural math contest, and three girls have won third and consolation prizes in the essay contest of soliciting of contributions with rewards for the subject of "Spring Bud Project and Me."

The Sharing Blue Sky, Growing Up Happily -- Caring For Children Project was implemented provincewide by Jilin Women＇s Federation on June 8. The project is intended to help disabled children, migrant children and left-behind children （in rural areas） to grow up in a healthy way. Officials from the women＇s federation intend to help 10,000 children, and their parents, this year.

‘3 1 Mechanism’Project Completed “3 1机制”项目获得成功 With the support of the International Labor Organization (ILO), and implemented in accordance with the "3 1 mechanism" (the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, the All-China Federation of Trade Unions and the China Enterprise Confederation, plus the All-China Women's Federation), the project, aimed at enhancing gender mainstreaming capacity in China, was completed in April 2006.

SHEN Peiyi grew up influenced by nature, art and religion. Her achievements in dancing won her the honor "national first class dancer" when she was 21 years old. Recalling the Iron Girls

The phrase "iron girl" is symbolic of an era. Widely used in the 1960s and the early 1970s, it was a term that described women who, in the spirit of sexual equality, found in themselves a physical strength that surpassed their psychologi cal expectations. With their might and power, they proved to society that women could do everything that men could. The title of "iron girl" was their pride.The well-known writer Fan Xiaoqing, was one such iron girl. She says the "iron girls" were nothing less than a quest for perfection.

Hani Women Gear Up for Opening

Most of the 1.253 million Hani people live in mountainous areas between the Honghe and Lancang rivers in the south of Yunnan Province. The Hani language, with a Latin alphabet similar to the Yi language, was formulated in 1957. Both the Hani and Yi nationalities evolved from the ancient Qiang people. The tribe, called Heyi 300 B.C., is said to be the ancestors of the Hani. The tribe moved south to Mount Ailao and Mount Wuliang, the present home of the Hani. The social development of the Hani was unbalanced at the founding of New China in 1949. The area inhabited by the Hani nationality belonged to the feudal society, with some areas still at the end of the primitive society. The Hani people tend to live in the mountainous areas at between 1000- 2500 meters above sea level. The Hani, who have engaged in agriculture for generations, have mastered method for reclaiming the terraced fields, which was included in the "Agriculture Encyclopedia" by Xu Guangqi, a scientist in the Ming Dynasty. The Project Postal Parcel for Mothers was launched in Northwest China＇s Qinghai Province in 2012.Since then, employees of Qinghai Women and Children＇s Development Foundation have helped the project＇s organizers raise more than 2.9 million yuan （US $475,409）. All of that money has been used to help about 30,000 impoverished mothers.

The Chicheng area in Hebei Province is a remote and under developed rural district. In 1999, film director Zhang Yimou made his movie "Not One Less" there.
