"The Rime of the Ancient Mariner"belongs to the second group. NONCONTACT MEASUREMENTS OF PERMITTIVITY OF A SMOOTH CONVEX TARGET WITH BISTATIC RADAR

Noncontact measurements of the permittivity of a smooth convex target are described in this paper. Two methods are presented. The first one is a modified Erteza and Doran's method. The second one is measuring the reflection coefficient of the target and then evaluating the permittivity. Both methods are implemented in the open with a S-band bistatic radar. The experimental results are in good agreement with those obtained by the perturbation method.

By using semi—micro—iodometrie method.the comparative studies on thb absorbent power of differant ions by different soil samples have been developed.It is noteworthy that the proposed technique is rapid and more reproucible.The theoretical equations are derived and the exoerimantal proceuresdare described.The maenitude of absorbent power of ion by soils is the intensity factorrespect to that of capacity factor.The reciprocal of coefficent of soil absoreent power of ion has been assumed to reprcsent the magnitude of soil absorbent power when the soil having been taken as reference has been fixedAccording fo this method.results of the absorbent power of different nutritious ions for cerfain paddy soils are presented.we get a linear relationshibatween ion—exchange adsorption of soil and nutritious ions.Tha absorbent power is not only a basic feature of soil except it's chepical and physical property but also a fandamental character for ions.Fathermore,in the practice.the absorbent power of nutritious ionsasNH_4~+,K~+,Ca~(++)and Mg~(++)has been invstigated,The absbent cower of ions bycoarse sandy earth and clayloam,the relationship befween absorbent powemand cultural practice as well as a significant illnstration ete are also discusd in details.All these results have clearly displayed the significance of soil absorbent power in the respect of directing the plant nutrition and the adequatefertilization.     

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE ENGLISH ENVIRONMENT IN ENGLISH TEACHING

Biofortification is an emerging intervention to alleviate hidden hunger in China.How to increase farmers’ adoption of biofortified agricultural products is a real problem of biofortification in a context of information asymmetry.Based on experimental method to investigate the influence of nutrition-information intervention on farmer’s willingness to adopt biofortified agricultural products,our research takes the example of iron-rich rice and discuss the moderating effect of value appeals,source of nutrition-information and the scale of farmer operations.The result reveals:1) in the context of information asymmetry,the nutrition-information intervention has a significant positive effect on farmers’ willingness to adopt biofortified agricultural products; 2) the relationship between nutrition-information intervention and farmers’ willingness to adopt is moderated by the farmers’ value appeals.No matter which value appeals farmers hold,nutrition-information intervention can improve their willingness to adopt,and the nutrition-information intervention has a more significant effect on nutrition oriented farmers’ willingness to adopt; 3) the relationship between nutrition-information intervention and farmers’ willingness to adopt is moderated by the scale of farmer.Compared with small-scale and large-scale farmers,nutrition-information intervention has a more significant effect on medium-scale farmers’ willingness to adopt iron-rich rice; 4) the relationship between nutrition-information intervention and farmers’ willingness to adopt is moderated by the source of nutrition-information.Compared with the information from seed companies,nutrition-information intervention has a more significant effect on farmers’ willingness to adopt when the information comes from government agencies,interpersonal communication and media.Therefore,it is suggested to enforce nutrition information intervention and pay attention to the moderating effect of farmers’ value appeals,source of nutrition-information and the scale of farmer operations on the impact of nutrition information intervention on farmers’ willingness to adopt.

A STUDY OF STUDENTS＇ANXIETYON THE LISTENING PERFORMANCE IN CET BAND IV

This paper mainly focuses on investigating to what extent and how listening comprehension was affected by students‘anxiety, which was considered to be one of the factors to which EFL/ESL teachers must pay attention. The author of the thesis used a questionnaire on trait anxiety and one on state anxiety to look into students‘anxiety levels exhibited in the listening part of the College English Band IV Test. 52 subjects from the Inner Mongolia (Polytechn:c) University of Technology were involved in the investigation. Data collected from the investigation were statistically analyzed using SPSS 10. 0. The research findings indicate that anxiety is a factor to affect the students’ listening performances, that means the reduction of trait anxiety levels may facilitate listening performances of the students. Visualization is a promising technique for treatment.     

On Paraphrase in the English Teaching

To paraphrase is a helpful method frequently used in English teaching. What does it mean? How to do paraphrase? The writer cites some sentences from textbooks and some teaching materials so as to sum up the way of paraphrasing in several aspects. One is paraphrasing the key words and expressions of a sentence in a paraghaph. Aggregation of Oscillating Subsystems

In previous work, the analysis of the effects of aggregating simple dynamic systems has been studied by applying methods developed for thermodynamic systems in order to take account of stochastic effects. This approach is based on the Master Equation for the probability density of the contents of a vector of system levels. The goal of these studies is to determine the dynamic characteristics of systems composed of a population of sub-systems with the same dynamic structure while accounting for novel behavior that is introduced by the process of aggregating the sub-systems into the larger system.
