Abstract

Over the course of the past three years, a group of women residents of a forty-five-year-old public housing project have struggled with the housing authority to participate in the revitalization of that project. This article examines the emergence of a “critical consciousness” and action on the part of these women as a consequence of their going on-line on the Internet with their own home page. This article also looks at the historical and social context of their relationship with the local community and the housing authority as well as the women's ultimate challenge to the housing authority's sense of “exclusive” possession and use of information and data.  相似文献

人才资源是决定区域经济发展的关键因素。国内各区域的人才发展困境主要包括人力资本积累过程中结构性失衡、人才质量低、人才浪费、人才服务配套措施不完善,人才市场在人才资源配置中作用有待进一步加强等问题。虽然各区域在人才引进、人才激励、人才培养以及人才服务体系建设等方面采取了多种人才规划措施,但仍存在一定的误区与不足。为此,需要进一步加入教育投入、完善人才引入和激励政策,明确以人为本、投资于人、以用为重及吸引与培养并重的原则,并实施相应的配套政策,才能在人才竞争和区域竞争中占据领先位置。  相似文献

Research was conducted in Ghana to (1) determine the extent to which the 1994–95 Official Development Assistance (ODA) donors to Ghana subscribed to inclusionary disability policies or mandates, (2) determine the extent to which disabled people were included in their mainstream development activities, (3) estimate the proportion of Ghana's 1994–95 ODA that went to activities specifically intended to benefit disabled people, and (4) estimate the proportion of those activities that were designed to foster the inclusion and empowerment of disabled people. In 1994–95, only two of the 16 donors examined subscribed to disability policies or mandates, and none took affirmative steps to include disabled people in their mainstream programmes and projects. Only 0.1282% of the total ODA examined for the entire 2-year period went to disability related activities, of which only 44.12% went to inclusionary and empowering activities.  相似文献

Abstract

This paper addresses career development strategy within the context of social work practice in rehabilitation and disability. The author outlines the career development needs of people with disabilities and identifies contemporary ways of thinking about career development. Four specific career development tactics are discussed involving the provision of vicarious experiences, identification and appreciation of performance accomplishments, verbal persuasion to support appropriate risk-taking, and emotional arousal that facilitates the expression of feelings and the motivation to act. These tactics are promising avenues for strengthening vocational and career self-efficacy with the aim of helping people with disabilities to augment their career maturity and increase their personal flexibility.  相似文献
