ABSTRACT The study examined the impact of an interdisciplinary collaborative on the information literacy of its participants by using legitimate peripheral participation (Lave & Wenger, 1991) as a conceptual framework. The objectives of this exploratory study were to document participants' qualitative gains in information technology knowledge and uses, and to analyze expert involvement in supporting learning by novices. Data were gathered by using a participation observation approach, interviews, and survey. Participants cited more frequently the non-technical aspects of information literacy as being more beneficial than gains in technical know-how. Varying degrees of expert involvement ranging from enabling to instructing were identified. The implications in terms of convening and managing communities of practice and the development of legitimate peripheral participation theory are discussed. 相似文献

目的:探讨醒脑静注射液救治急性有机磷农药中毒昏迷的疗效。方法:选择2012年1月-2014年10月本院收治的急性有机磷农药中毒昏迷患者46例作为研究对象,采用随机数字表法将其分为治疗组与对照组。对照组20例给予常规基本治疗,治疗组26例在对照组基础上采用醒脑静注射液治疗。观察比较两组的治疗效果。结果:治疗组抢救成功率、病死率、平均昏迷时间及并发症发生情况均优于对照组,两组比较差异均有统计学意义(P<0.05)。结论:醒脑静注射液治疗急性有机磷农药中毒昏迷疗效确切。 相似文献

Abstract Objective: To compare the extent to which information efficacy (confidence for acquiring useful information) and media literacy skills predict knowledge and self-efficacy for preventing or treating the health threat of influenza. Participants: A random-sample survey of 1,379 residential students enrolled at a northwestern public university was conducted in fall 2009. Methods: Students accessed an Internet survey through a link provided in an e-mail. Results: Students who self-diagnosed correctly demonstrated higher levels of media literacy skills than those who self-diagnosed incorrectly. Among those who self-diagnosed incorrectly, the only predictor of knowledge was accessibility of information sources; low accessibility was associated with reduced knowledge. Information efficacy predicted self-efficacy for both groups. Conclusions: The results illustrate the limitations of information efficacy in the absence of media literacy skills. To decrease health risks, college health practitioners should promote media literacy while also ensuring easy access to high-quality information. 相似文献

The purpose of the study was to examine the antecedents and impacts of information technology (IT) adoption by small family-owned
businesses, using data from the National Family Business Survey. This research tested a model based on the Diffusion of Innovations
framework and the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). Family business managers’ prior knowledge and level of IT use, business
location, and community size/type were important antecedents to the decision to adopt IT. Ease of use and decision to adopt
IT accounted for over 60% of the variance in usefulness of IT and implementation of internet and IT capabilities. The implementation
of IT capabilities accounted for nearly 40% of the variance in actual use of IT and perceived impact of the internet. 相似文献

ABSTRACT This paper reports relationships among communities, families, and Spanish-speaking children's language and literacy development in kindergarten and grade 1. Findings from a study of 35 communities show that communities with greater concentrations of Latinos are less likely to have printed materials, and available materials are more likely to be in Spanish. Communities with higher income and education levels have more literacy materials in English. Contrary to predictions, there are few associations among community literacy resources, frequency of children's home reading activities, and children's literacy achievement. This lack of association is due to within-community variation in home literacy practices and to schools' impact on home literacy. However, there are associations among community and family language characteristics and child literacy outcomes in Spanish and English, suggesting that at least in the early stages of literacy development, communities' influence on Spanish-speaking children's literacy development is through language-learning opportunities rather than literacy-learning opportunities per se. 相似文献

Summary The following paper addresses significant questions and challenges to defining and pursuing computer literacy in the realm of assessment. This includes attention to practitioner concerns as well as validity and ethical issues. The paper concludes with discussion of promising future directions, including capitalizing on the unique characteristics of the computer and qualitatively different assessment paradigms.
