This light green jade pendant, measuring 48 cm, was unearthed at the Zenghouyi tomb. It was made from five pieces of jade which were carved into ornamental shapes, including a dragon, a phoenix, a bi(a round flat piece of jade with a hole in the center), and rings. Three slip-hoops are fashioned into an ellipse. A single jade nail connects the pieces to a pendant which can be folded or taken apart. Some designs often were carved either on one side or both sides of these ornaments. On this piece are found 37 styles of dragons, seven kinds of phoenixes and ten snakes, done by drill-carving, carving on the surface or in intagolio. Also on the pendant is a picture titled "The Claws of the Phoenixes Grasp the Snakes."  相似文献

Bronze Elephant
A rare find among Shang Dynasty bronzes in China, this bronze elephant was unearthed in a hillside in Liling County, Hunan. It was probably buried by slave owners as a sacrifice to the mountains and lakes. The bronze elephant served as a wine vessel. Wine was poured into the large opening at the elephant's back, and was served through its trunk. It is 22.8 cm tall, 26.5 cm long and weighs 2.8 kg. The body of the vessel was carved with animal motifs. The front of the trunk, for example, is carved into the shape of a phoenix with a hooked beak. A tiger is crouched on the comb of the phoenix, and a snake curls out of its beak. The base of the trunk is decorated with another snake, with its head near the mouth of the elephant. The entire trunk is decorated with scales.  相似文献

Unearthed from Hemudu ruins of the New Stone Age in Yuyao, Zhejiang Province in 1977, this rectangular-mouthed container belongs to the Hemudu culture. It is carved with a pig pattern on both sides in realist style. A complete piece, the container has a flat bottom and slightly sloped belly, with a mouth 21.7 cm long and 17.5 cm wide. Most of the artifacts from Hemudu culture are charcoal black pottery. The stem and leaves of the pottery can be seen clearly. The walls of the artifacts are usually thick but porous. The carving lines are rough and the designs are simple and natural, reflecting the ancient people's love of nature and life. The pig's four strong feet and backward bristles carved on the container are vivid, with ears sticking out and mouth  相似文献

LOCATED in Chun'an County, Zhejiang Province, Qiandao Lake (Lake of a Thousand Isles) is a state-level scenic spot and a bright pearl of the golden tourism line between Hangzhou's West Lake and Anhui's Huangshan Mountain. Last autumn, we went to Chun'an. It took only three to four hours by coach to travel from Hangzhou to Chun'an. Flanked by mountains on the west, the small county faces water on the east. A street goes across the county; it takes less than half an hour to walk from one end to the other. Small restaurants and shops line the western side of the road,  相似文献

ONE day I found by chance one of my old photos taken 30 years ago. In it I was still a serious 17-year-old girl with my hair in two short braids and dressed in a blue cloth coat, brown corduroys and a pair of black cloth shoes each fastened by a strap at the side My eyes fixed on the shoes and lingered for quite a long time. A smile quietly crawled over my lips. Isn't it the fashionable "little girl's shoe" which is expected to prevail in the market this year?  相似文献

I INTRODUCTION
The development of human society is a process of differentiation and integration. The differentiation of the society always brings about the language differentiation; while the integration of the society requires the language integration at all time. As a famous linguist Chen Yuan goes: "Language is a variable, and society is another variable. These two variables are influencing each other; interacting each other; restricting each other and changing together. This is what we called CO- VARIANCE." When the society is changing gradually or changing dramatically, language must be changing in pace of the society.  相似文献

Art Appreciation
Modern embossed forged copper has an elegant character. This art form works well as decoration for the walls of buildings. Chen Chuan, the designer, pursues a look of simplicity and powerfulness in his works Auspiciousness and Harmony, which is based on the themes of man and nature. Chen carefully plans the arrangement of convex and concave parts, adding texture by hammering or scraping in many small points and fine lines. With a steel pick, the artist creates a surface sometimes rough and matte, sometimes smooth and shiny. Chen Chuan graduated from the Hubei Institute of Arts in 1965, and was deputy director of the Shandong Provincial Art Gallery from 1984 to 1991. A member of the China Artists Association and the China Graphic Art Association, Chen Chuan is ranked as a first-class artisan, and currently serves as director of the forge copper art office of the Shandong Academy. He has won awards at exhibitions held both at home and abroad.  相似文献

Unearthed from a Liao tomb at Zhangjia Yingzi, Jianping County, Liaoning Province in 1956, this gilded silver crown with double-dragon pattern is 19 cm high and 20.9 cm in diameter. Its shape is suggestive of a mountain: higher in the middle and lower on both sides. On the front is a carving in the shape of a pearl surrounded by an S-shape pattern symbolizing good fortune. There is a lively dragon on either side. The complete design is based on the old theme "two dragons play with a pearl." Traditions of the Qidan, an ancient nationality of northern China, are evident in the design of the crown. It is recorded in  相似文献
