In this paper, we consider a monitoring procedure to detect changes of the copula parameter of strong mixing processes. We propose two monitoring procedures based on the cumulative sums of scores evaluated at consistent copula parameter estimates and their fluctuations. We investigate the asymptotic properties of our monitoring procedures under both the null of no change in the copula parameter and its alternative. We also illustrate a simulation study and a real data analysis.  相似文献

We propose tests for parameter constancy in the time series direction in panel data models. We construct a locally best invariant test based on Tanaka [Time series analysis: nonstationary and noninvertible distribution theory. New York: Wiley; 1996] and an asymptotically point optimal test based on Elliott and Müller [Efficient tests for general persistent time variation in regression coefficients. Rev Econ Stud. 2006;73:907–940]. We derive the limiting distributions of the test statistics as T→∞ while N is fixed, and calculate the critical values by applying numerical integration and response surface regression. Simulation results show that the proposed tests perform well if we apply them appropriately.  相似文献

We propose a test to decide if a time series is represented by its linear interpolator better than by its mean value. The same test can be employed to decide if a time series has to be considered white noise. The test is based on a new estimate of the index of linear determinism (Battaglia, 1983, Inverse autocovariances and a measure of linear determinism for a stationary process, J. Time Series Anal. 4, 79-87) and its asymptotic distribution is derived. Comparison with the popular Ljung-Box portmanteau test has been performed based on both asymptotic power and a simulation experiment. The new test  相似文献

In this paper, we develop a monitoring procedure for an early detection of parameter changes in time series models. We design the monitoring procedure in general time series models and apply it to the changes for the autocovariances of linear processes, GARCH parameters, and underlying distributions. Simulation results are provided for illustration.  相似文献

This article examines a semiparametric test for checking the constancy of serial dependence via copula models for Markov time series. A semiparametric score test is proposed for testing the constancy of the copula parameter against stochastically varying copula parameter. The asymptotic null distribution of the test is established. A semiparametric bootstrap procedure is employed for the estimation of the variance of the proposed score test. Illustrations are given based on simulated series and historic interest rate data.  相似文献

In the literature on change-point analysis, much attention has been paid to detecting changes in certain marginal characteristics, such as mean, variance, and marginal distribution. For time series data with nonparametric time trend, we study the change-point problem for the autocovariance structure of the unobservable error process. To derive the asymptotic distribution of the cumulative sum test statistic, we develop substantial theory for uniform convergence of weighted partial sums and weighted quadratic forms. Our asymptotic results improve upon existing works in several important aspects. The performance of the test statistic is examined through simulations and an application to interest rates data.  相似文献

The present work proposes a new integer valued autoregressive model with Poisson marginal distribution based on the mixing Pegram and dependent Bernoulli thinning operators. Properties of the model are discussed. We consider several methods for estimating the unknown parameters of the model. Also, the classical and Bayesian approaches are used for forecasting. Simulations are performed for the performance of these estimators and forecasting methods. Finally, the analysis of two real data has been presented for illustrative purposes.  相似文献

Time series in traded markets such as currencies and securities involve supply/demand interaction, so they might be expected to contain distinctive and identifiable structures in comparison with data based on natural phenomena such as river flows or sunspots. This paper tests this proposition using standard econometric tests including variance ratios, modified rescaled range (R/S) ratios and BDS statistics together with non-linear prediction models. Four time series of each type (market or natural) are subject to a battery of tests for random walk and non-linear dependence. Surprisingly, the tests provide no reliable discrimination between the two types of series or reveal any embedded specification differences.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose several tests for monotonic trend based on the Brillinger's test statistic (1989, Biometrika, 76, 23–30). When there are highly correlated residuals or short record lengths, Brillinger's test procedure tends to have significance level much higher than the nominal level. It is found that this could be related to the discrepancy between the empirical distribution of the test statistic and the asymptotic normal distribution. Hence, in this paper, we propose three bootstrap-based procedures based on the Brillinger's test statistic to test for monotonic trend. The performance of the proposed test procedures is evaluated through an extensive Monte Carlo simulation study, and is compared to other trend test procedures in the literature. It is shown that the proposed bootstrap-based Brillinger test procedures can well control the significance levels and provide satisfactory power performance in testing the monotonic trend under different scenarios.  相似文献

This paper proposes a generalized quasi-likelihood (GQL) function for estimating the vector of regression and over-dispersion effects for the respective series in the bivariate integer-valued autoregressive process of order 1 (BINAR(1)) with Negative Binomial (NB) marginals. The auto-covariance function in the proposed GQL is computed using some ‘robust’ working structures. As for the BINAR(1) process, the inter-relation between the series is induced mainly by the correlated NB innovations that are subject to different levels of over-dispersion. The performance of the GQL approach is tested via some Monte-Carlo simulations under different combination of over-dispersion together with low and high serial- and cross-correlation parameters. The model is also applied to analyse a real-life series of day and night accidents in Mauritius.  相似文献

We consider the problem of testing time series linearity. Existing time domain and spectral domain tests are discussed. A new approach relying on spectral domain properties of a time series under the null hypothesis of linearity is suggested. Under linearity, the normalized bispectral density function Z is a constant. Under the null hypothesis of linearity, properly constructed estimators of 2|Z|2 have a non-central chi-squared distribution with two degrees of freedom and constant non-centrality parameter 2|Z|2. If the null hypothesis is false, the non-centrality parameter is non-constant. This suggests goodness-of-fit tests might be effective in diagnosing non-linearity. Several approaches are introduced.  相似文献

We propose methods for monitoring the residuals of a fitted ARIMA or an autoregressive fractionally integrated moving average (ARFIMA) model in order to detect changes of the parameters in that model. We extend the procedures of Box & Ramirez (1992) and Ramirez (1992) and allow the differencing parameter, d to be fractional or integer. Test statistics are approximated by Wiener processes. We carry out simulations and also apply our method to several real time series. The results show that our method is effective for monitoring all parameters in ARFIMA models.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to develop influence diagnostics for AR(1) models under the innovative and the data perturbation schemes. There are four main contributions. First, we derive analytical expressions for the slope and curvature statistics. Second, we establish a relationship between the slope and curvature showing that the standardised slope and standardised curvature are equal for the innovative perturbation scheme, and these vectors are nearly identical for several values of the autoregressive parameter, for the data perturbation scheme. Third, we present a connection between the influence statistics and the tests for outlier detection. Fourth, for the innovative perturbation scheme, we derive the asymptotic distribution of a new influence statistic, whereas for the data perturbation scheme, the distribution of the influence statistics is obtained via Monte Carlo simulation. We additionally discuss practical guidelines for the use of local influence statistics, which are illustrated on a chemical process data set.  相似文献

This paper addresses the problem of testing for the presence of unit autoregressive roots in seasonal time series with negatively correlated moving average components. For such cases, many of the commonly used tests are known to have exact sizes much higher than their nominal significance level. We propose modifications of available test procedures that are based on suitably prewhitened data and feasible generalized least squares estimators. Monte Carlo experiments show that such modifications are successful in reducing size distortions in samples of moderate size.  相似文献

The Zero Inflated Power Series Distribution (ZIPSD) contains two parameters. The first parameter indicates inflation of zero and the other parameter is that of the Power Series distribution. We provide three asymptotic tests for testing the parameter of Power Series distribution, using an unconditional (standard) likelihood approach, a conditional likelihood approach and a test based on sample mean, respectively. The performance of these three tests has been studied for Zero Inflated Poisson Distribution (ZIPD). Asymptotic Confidence Intervals for the parameter are also provided.  相似文献

This research investigates long memory financial equity markets using three heuristic methodologies namely a proposed modified variance time-aggregated plot, modified rescaled-range plot and periodogram approaches. The intensity of the long memory process is quantified in terms of Hurst parameter (H). Five Malaysian equity market indices are selected in the empirical studies with the inclusion of pre- and post-drastic economic events. Our empirical results evidenced dissimilar long memory behaviours in the different regimes of significant economic events. It is also found that after the short-memory adjustment, all the equity markets exhibited substantial reductions in long memory estimations.  相似文献

In this paper we propose a new stationary first‐order non‐negative integer valued autoregressive process with geometric marginals based on a generalised version of the negative binomial thinning operator. In this manner we obtain another process that we refer to as a generalised stationary integer‐valued autoregressive process of the first order with geometric marginals. This new process will enable one to tackle the problem of overdispersion inherent in the analysis of integer‐valued time series data, and contains the new geometric process as a particular case. In addition various properties of the new process, such as conditional distribution, autocorrelation structure and innovation structure, are derived. We discuss conditional maximum likelihood estimation of the model parameters. We evaluate the performance of the conditional maximum likelihood estimators by a Monte Carlo study. The proposed process is fitted to time series of number of weekly sales (economics) and weekly number of syphilis cases (medicine) illustrating its capabilities in challenging cases of highly overdispersed count data.  相似文献

Abstract

This paper investigates the parameter-change tests for a class of observation-driven models for count time series. We propose two cumulative sum (CUSUM) test procedures for detection of changes in model parameters. Under regularity conditions, the asymptotic null distributions of the test statistics are established. In addition, the integer-valued generalized autoregressive conditional heteroskedastic (INGARCH) processes with conditional negative binomial distributions are investigated. The developed techniques are examined through simulation studies and also are illustrated using an empirical example.  相似文献

In this work, the asymptotic distribution for the discrete Fourier transform of periodically correlated (PC) processes is applied to test the equality of two PC time series. Then the performance of the proposed method is investigated through the Monte Carlo simulations.  相似文献
