In this paper a criterion showing when the orbit of a subgraph of a given rank 3 graph forms a block design, is given. As an application several classes of block designs are derived from the triangular graph T(n) and the lattice graph L2(n).  相似文献

In Table 4 of Draper and Lin (1990) the authors present eleven 2k − pR designs for which doubt is expressed as to whether they are saturated. This note removes doubt on nine of these designs indicating that they are indeed saturated. Some observations are made in terms of the resolution of a design for the remaining two designs among the 11. The conclusions are derived by properly interpreting an updated table of binary linear codes of Verhoeff (1987).  相似文献

We consider a centered stochastic process {X(t):tT} with known and continuous covariance function. On the basis of observations X(t1), …, X(tn) we approximate the whole path by orthogonal projection and measure the performance of the chosen design d = (t1, …, tn)′ by the corresponding mean squared L2-distance. For covariance functions on T2 = [0, 1]2, which satisfy a generalized Sacks-Ylvisaker regularity condition of order zero, we construct asymptotically optimal sequences of designs. Moreover, we characterize the achievement of a lower error bound, given by Micchelli and Wahba (1981), and study the question of whether this bound can be attained.  相似文献

New series of incomplete block designs for symmetrical parallel lines are proposed. From these designs important contrasts like Lp, L1 and L1 are estimated free from block effects. Designs for quadratic and cubic regression are considered when the possible choices of the controlable variable are points x=( x1,x2,…,xq) in the q-dimensional. Full of radius R, Bq(R) ={x:Σ4ix2i?R2}. The designs that are optimum among rotatable designs with respect to the D-, A-, and E-optimality criteria are compared in their performance relative to these and other criteria, including extrapolation. Additionally, the performance of a design optimum for one value of R, when it is implemented for a different value of R, is investigated. Some of the results are developed algebraically; others, numerically. For example, in quadratic regression the A-optimum design appears to be fairly robust in its efficiency, under variation of criterion.  相似文献

Let (X,Y) be a pair of random variables with supp(X)⊆[0,1] and EY2<∞. Let m be the corresponding regression function. Estimation of m from i.i.d. data is considered. The L2 error with integration with respect to the design measure μ (i.e., the distribution of X) is used as an error criterion.Estimates are constructed by estimating the coefficients of an orthonormal expansion of the regression function. This orthonormal expansion is done with respect to a family of piecewise polynomials, which are orthonormal in L2(μn), where μn denotes the empirical design measure.It is shown that the estimates are weakly and strongly consistent for every distribution of (X,Y). Furthermore, the estimates behave nearly as well as an ideal (but not applicable) estimate constructed by fitting a piecewise polynomial to the data, where the partition of the piecewise polynomial is chosen optimally for the underlying distribution. This implies e.g., that the estimates achieve up to a logarithmic factor the rate n−2p/(2p+1), if the underlying regression function is piecewise p-smooth, although their definition depends neither on the smoothness nor on the location of the discontinuities of the regression function.  相似文献

A weighted A-optimality (WA-optimality) criterion is discussed for selecting a fractional 2m factorial design of resolution V. A WA-optimality criterion having one weight may be considered for designs. It is shown that designs derived from orthogonal arrays are WA-optimal for any weight. From a WA-optimal design, a procedure for finding WA-optimal designs for various weights is given. WA-optimal balanced designs are presented for 4 ⩽ m ⩽ 7 and for the values of n assemblies in certain ranges. It is pointed out that designs for m = 7 and for n = 41, 42 given in Chopra and Srivastava (1973a) or in the corrected paper by Chopra et al. (1986), are not A-optimal.  相似文献

For measuring the goodness of 2 m 41 designs, Wu and Zhang (1993) proposed the minimum aberration (MA) criterion. MA 2 m 41 designs have been constructed using the idea of complementary designs when the number of two-level factors, m, exceeds n/2, where n is the total number of runs. In this paper, the structures of MA 2 m 41 designs are obtained when m>5n/16. Based on these structures, some methods are developed for constructing MA 2 m 41 designs for 5n/16<m<n/2 as well as for n/2≤m<n. When m≤5n/16, there is no general method for constructing MA 2 m 41 designs. In this case, we obtain lower bounds for A 30 and A 31, where A 30 and A 31 are the numbers of type 0 and type 1 words with length three respectively. And a method for constructing weak minimum aberration (WMA) 2 m 41 designs (A 30 and A 31 achieving the lower bounds) is demonstrated. Some MA or WMA 2 m 41 designs with 32 or 64 runs are tabulated for practical use, which supplement the tables in Wu and Zhang (1993), Zhang and Shao (2001) and Mukerjee and Wu (2001).  相似文献

A Balanced Incomplete Block Design (BIBD) is a pair (V, B) where V is a v-set and B is a collection of b k-subsets of V, called blocks, such that every element of V occurs in exactly r of the k-subsets and every 2-subset of V occurs in exactly λ of the blocks. The number of non-isomorphic designs of a BIBD (22, 44, 14, 7, 4) whose automorphism group is divisible by 7 or 11 are investigated. From this work, results are obtained on the number of non-isomorphic BIBDs (15, 42, 14, 5, 4).  相似文献

The purpose of this article is to introduce a new class of extended E(s2)-optimal two level supersaturated designs obtained by adding runs to an existing E(s2)-optimal two level supersaturated design. The extended design is a union of two optimal SSDs belonging to different classes. New lower bound to E(s2) has been obtained for the extended supersaturated designs. Some examples and a small catalogue of E(s2)-optimal SSDs are also included.  相似文献

The objective of this article is to study the issue of employing the uniformity criterion measured by wrap-around L2-discrepancy to assess the optimal foldover plans. For mixed two- and three-level fractional factorials as the original designs, general foldover plan and combined design under a foldover plan are defined, and the equivalence between any foldover plan and its complementary foldover plan is investigated. A lower bound of wrap-around L2-discrepancy of combined designs under a general foldover plan is obtained, which can be used as a benchmark for searching optimal foldover plans. Moreover, it also provides a theoretical justification for optimal foldover plans in terms of uniformity criterion.  相似文献

Uniform designs are widely used in various applications. However, it is computationally intractable to construct uniform designs, even for moderate number of runs, factors and levels. We establish a linear relationship between average squared centered L2-discrepancy and generalized wordlength pattern, and then based on it, we propose a general method for constructing uniform designs with arbitrary number of levels. The main idea is to choose a generalized minimum aberration design and then permute its levels. We propose a novel stochastic algorithm and obtain many new uniform designs that have smaller centered L2-discrepancies than the existing ones.  相似文献

Optimality properties of approximate block designs are studied under variations of (1) the class of competing designs, (2) the optimality criterion, (3) the parametric function of interest, and (4) the statistical model. The designs which are optimal turn out to be the product of their treatment and block marginals, and uniform designs when the support is specified in advance. Optimality here means uniform, universal, and simultaneous jp-optimality. The classical balanced incomplete block designs are embedded into this approach, and shown to be simultaneously jp-optimal for a maximal system of identifiable parameters. A geometric account of universal optimality is given which applies beyond the context of block designs.  相似文献

The present paper deals with E(fNOD)-optimal multi-level supersaturated designs. We present a new technique for the construction of supplementary difference sets. Based on the new supplementary difference sets, we also provide E(fNOD)-optimal multi-level supersaturated designs with a large number of columns when compared with other designs. The uniformity can be utilized as a measure for comparing factorial designs. Fang and Mukerjee (Biometrika 87 (2000) 193–198) and Fang et al. (in: K.T. Fang, F.J. Hickernell, H. Niederreiter (Eds.), Monte Carlo and Quasi-Monte Carlo Methods 2000, Springer, Berlin, 2002) found links among uniformity in terms of some non-uniformity measures, orthogonality and aberration for regular symmetric factorials. In this paper we extend their results to asymmetric factorials by considering a so-called wrap-around L2-discrepancy to evaluate the uniformity of factorials. Furthermore, a lower bound of wrap-around L2-discrepancy is obtained for asymmetric factorials and two new ways of construction of factorial designs with mixed levels are proposed.  相似文献

Solutions are known in special cases.A comprehensive existence/uniqueness theory is presented, and many consequences are explored. Unique solutions occur when − log X and − log V have spectrally positive infinitely divisible laws. We study the construction of regression designs, when the random errors are autocorrelated. Our model of dependence assumes that the spectral density g(ω) of the error process is of the form g(ω) = (1 − α)g0(ω) + αg1(ω), where g0(ω) is uniform (corresponding to uncorrelated errors), α ϵ [0, 1) is fixed, and g1(ω) is arbitrary. We consider regression responses which are exactly, or only approximately, linear in the parameters. Our main results are that a design which is asymptotically (minimax) optimal for uncorrelated errors retains its optimality under autocorrelation if the design points are a random sample, or a random permutation, of points from this distribution. Our results are then a partial extension of those of Wu (Ann. Statist. 9 (1981), 1168–1177), on the robustness of randomized experimental designs, to the field of regression design.  相似文献
