Today Pottery Yuan Liang came to Beijing and became a signatory ceramicist at Today Art Museum in 2008, after he graduated from the Department of Ceramic Art, under the China Academy of Art, in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang Province. Also that year, the museum helpedYuan establish Today Pottery, as a training center, to teach children how to make potteries. Within two years, Today Pottery was independent from the museum. CCTF, Nestle Team Up to Improve Health of Newborns, Women
The China Children and Teenagers' Foundation (CCTF), on April 22, 2014, received a donation of 30 million yuan (US $4.9 million) from Nestl6 China to fund a project aimed at improving the health of women and newborns in China. The donation was made in Beijing. The project, entitled "1,000 Days Action for Newborn and Maternal Health," is intended to raise public awareness of the significance of the 1,000 days from conception to a child's second birthday, through various types of publicity and training. The ACWF and the Chinese Women's Research Society (CWRS) held, in Beijing on October 30, a seminar on eradicating sexual harassment in universities. Tan Lin, Member of ACWF's Secretariat and Vice-President of CWRS, Gao Shawei, Director of ACWF's Legal Department, and Xu Tao, Director of the Teachers' Department of China's Ministry of Education, spoke during the event. More than 50 people -- including leaders and teachers from 22 universities (in various regions of China), each of which has established a women and gender research and training base with ACWF and CWRS's help -- attended. Women's Writing Competition Jointly Organized by Both Sides of the Taiwan Straits 海峡两岸联合举办女性征文竞赛A writing competition entitled "I am a new woman in China," jointly sponsored by the magazine "i" under Women of China (in Chinese) and the magazine "girl" under China Times (Taiwan), announced its results in Beijing on April 6.
