As doctors of fine arts graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts are rare, and all of them boasted a long list of achievements, I was surprised to find that his resume was less than 100 words long. Believing that his secretary had made a mistake, I sent him an email and asked him to give me an ＂accurate and complete＂ version as soon as possible.

The increasing serious population aging is one of the challengeable problems attracting attentions of the international communities. ＂Active aging＂ theory provides another perspective in problemsolving for how to meet the challenge of population aging. By reviewing both the development of international active aging theories and practices and China＇s changes in population aging policies and practices, this article tries to analyze the aging problem in China in the political, economic, and cultural view to describe the realistic picture of China＇s aging and to find a proper road for China＇s active aging.

Spatial Effect of Population –Economic Distribution Consistency in China

China＇s male marriage squeeze and its potential consequence have attracted much attention and given rise to debate, but most studies contribute this squeeze to sex structure and neglect the age structure, and some studies use flawed method to study the contribution of age structure in this squeeze. In this paper we develop an indicator of Spousal Sex Ratio （SSR） and apply a decomposition method into age and sex structure. Based on the data from China＇s 2010 census and projection, we predict that from 2010 to 2020, the age structure will be the dominant factor for China＇s male marriage squeeze, and from 2020 to 2034, the contribution of sex structure will be increasing, whereas that of age structure will be decreasing. From 2034 to 2045, China＇s male marriage squeeze will mainly from imbalanced sex structure, and the age structure will contribute little or negatively to China＇s male marriage squeeze.     

Family Migration Pattern in China

Do an increase in ageing in developed countries and ＂getting old before getting rich＂ in developing countries indicate that fluctuations in the population age structure have produced a qualitative change？ What is a qualitative change and what is a quantitative change＇？ Here we propose a new concept of Shadow Population,then establish a new standard for evaluating population age structure,finally present a typical five stage population age structure type transition model. The model simulation shows that all world regions are still in the adult stage and that population ageing belongs to the category of quantitative change. However, sustained low fertility will lead to a qualitative change in the ageing population. The current pressure of population aging in the adult stage placed on the pension security system shows that this system is truly not retirement age and Long-term stability in a sustainable system,Gradually raising the replacement fertility is the key to solving the socioeconomic development dilemma presented by future population ageing in low fertility regions or cotlntries,but the latter is more urgent.

The research of Longevity Population of the Sixth Census in China

The concept of＂urbanization on city and town level＂ is an expression of Chinese version, or a mainland understanding of China. However, city and town are on the different levels. In the light of census＇ measures on city population＂ and ＂town population, the paper tries to analyze population size aud its change on both ＂city＂ and ＂town＂ levels： to compare the different population density and their effect; to observe the mobile population between ＂city＂ and ＂town＂ level, and their age structure. China’s urban population exceeded rural population for the first time in Chinese history,reaching 51.27% in 2011.However,the level of urbanization has been exaggerated.If deducting the landless peasants under forced urbanization and migrant workers being not treated equally in the cities,China’ s actual urbanization level stood at 41.6% .There are challenges ahead.For example,an urban social value system has not been established in our society; we don’ t have a clear understanding of the role of cities and how to develop a city; urban management has not prepared well for urbanization development; and there is a long way to go in achieving equal treatment for all of the Urban residents.To cope with the challenges of urbanization,we need to improve the quality of urbanization,correctly understand the role of urbanization and its substance,follow the law of the urban development,and to explore building of an urban culture system.     

Continuity or Change？ Chinese Family in Transitional Era

In China, the increase of the sex ratio at birth （SRB） associates with the decline of the fertility level. The change of the parity structure, one of the main reasons of the low fertility level, may also play an important part in the change of the SRB. We find that the decrease of the proportion of the second and higher parity deters the imbalance of the SRB in China. The increase of the SRB in China is mainly caused by the increase of the second and higher parity＇s correspondent level of SRB before 2000, and the first parity＇s SRB also Plays more and more important role after 2000.

Servile Straw Mat and Precious Memory——Impression of Huang Ming’s Still Life

Almost in the same period of time, I was acquainted with Huang Ming, Fan Bo and Lei Bo. Five years ago, Huang Ming was a neighbor of Fan Bo when he lived in Beijing. So, if I visited one of them, the other one would be called to join the gathering. It was interesting to discover although they had totally different personality and style of painting, they had one single commonality in the form of expression, which gave me the deepest impression. Their paintings showed two core elements. In many paintings of Fan, you would see a withered tree and a man under the tree; while in many of Huang’s paintings, you would see an aged object and a straw mat underneath.
