As a non-radial approach, a super-efficiency model, Super SBM, was proposed by Tone [15] to rank efficient DMUs. Du et al. [7] extends the Super SBM model to the additive (slacks-based) DEA model. To obtain the super-efficiencies of the DMUs, one needs to identify the efficient DMUs first and then apply the additive super-efficiency model to those efficient DMUs. In this paper, we propose an integrated model so that the efficiencies of the inefficient DMUs and the super-efficiencies of the efficient DMUs can be obtained by a single model. The efficiency scores obtained by our integrated model are the same as those obtained by Du et al. [7] and the additive DEA model.  相似文献

Super-efficiency data envelopment analysis (DEA) model can be used in ranking the performance of efficient decision making units (DMUs). Because of the infeasibility problem associated with the super-efficiency DEA model, ranking has been restricted to the model where constant returns to scale and proportional changes in all inputs or all outputs are assumed. In fact, when super-efficiency is used as an efficiency stability measure, infeasibility means the highest super-efficiency. However, if super-efficiency is interpreted as input saving or output surplus achieved by a specific efficient DMU, infeasibility does not necessarily mean the highest super-efficiency. In order to obtain a complete ranking of efficient DMUs when the two assumptions are relaxed, a modified super-efficiency DEA model is proposed to overcome the infeasibility problem and to correctly capture the super-efficiency represented by the input saving or the output surplus. The current paper suggests using both input- and output-oriented super-efficiency models to characterize the super-efficiency when infeasibility occurs. As a result, we can rank the efficient DMUs if infeasibility occurs. The approach is applied to 20 largest Japanese companies and 15 US cities, respectively.  相似文献

考虑具有相同的投入和产出的两阶段决策单元的固定成本分摊问题。将待分摊的固定成本作为一种新的投入,建立两阶段加性DEA模型。首先证明了各决策单元从自身角度出发可以找到至少一种分摊方案,使其自身整体和阶段效率都达到Pareto有效。然后证明了在公共的权重下,至少存在一种分摊方案可以使得各决策单元整体和阶段效率都达到Pareto有效。并给出了这样的有效成本分摊方案集。为了得到公平的成本分摊方案,定义了各DMU各阶段对分摊方案的满意度,最大化最小的满意度,可以得到最终的成本分摊方案。将问题拓展到两阶段存在共享投入的生产系统中,这些性质定理同样成立。数值算例部分将本文与Yu等(2016)的研究结果进行了对比,验证了本文方法的有效性,指出了本文方法的优越性。本文的方法综合考虑了效率和公平,得到的固定成本分摊方案公平合理。  相似文献

The problem of infeasibility arises in conventional radial super-efficiency data envelopment analysis (DEA) models under variable returns to scale (VRS). To tackle this issue, a Nerlove–Luenberger (N–L) measure of super-efficiency is developed based on a directional distance function. Although this N–L super-efficiency model does not suffer infeasibility problem as in the conventional radial super-efficiency DEA models, it can produce an infeasible solution in two special situations. The current paper proposes to modify the directional distance function by selecting proper feasible reference bundles so that the resulting N–L measure of super-efficiency is always feasible. As a result, our modified VRS super-efficiency model successfully addresses the infeasibility issues occurring either in conventional VRS models or the N–L super-efficiency model. Numerical examples are used to demonstrate our approach and compare results obtained from various super-efficiency measures.  相似文献

数据包络分析是进行效率评价最重要的方法之一。传统的数据包络分析理论主要寻找有效前沿面上的最远距离投影,在极大化无效性指数的同时也面临着效率改进的巨大难度和高额成本。对于具有两阶段内部生产结构的决策单元,本文从考虑最小改进难度的视角出发,提出了最近距离投影的两阶段效率评价方法。该方法首先得到所有强有效决策单元的线性组合,且这些组合均占优于被评价的两阶段决策单元。然后建立了两阶段范围调整效率评价模型,在确定具有最近投影距离的占优组合的同时,得到了两阶段评价效率。最后,本文运用我国32家上市银行的年度数据对所提出方法进行了应用验证。  相似文献

A number of studies have used data envelopment analysis (DEA) to evaluate the performance of the countries in Olympic games. While competition exists among the countries in Olympic games/rankings, all these DEA studies do not model competition among peer decision making units (DMUs) or countries. These DEA studies find a set of weights/multipliers that keep the efficiency scores of all DMUs at or below unity. Although cross efficiency goes a further step by providing an efficiency measure in terms of the best multiplier bundle for the unit and all the other DMUs, it is not always unique. This paper presents a new and modified DEA game cross-efficiency model where each DMU is viewed as a competitor via non-cooperative game. For each competing DMU, a multiplier bundle is determined that optimizes the efficiency score for that DMU, with the additional constraint that the resulting score should be at or above that DMU 's estimated best performance. The problem, of course, arises that we will not know this best performance score for the DMU under evaluation until the best performances of all other DMUs are known. To combat this “chicken and egg” phenomenon, an iterative approach leading to the Nash equilibrium is presented. The current paper provides a modified variable returns to scale (VRS) model that yields non-negative cross-efficiency scores. The approach is applied to the last six Summer Olympic Games. Our results may indicate that our game cross-efficiency model implicitly incorporates the relative importance of gold, silver and bronze medals without the need for specifying the exact assurance regions.  相似文献

In addition to being held accountable for judicial decision, courts, like other public agencies, can and should be evaluated in terms of their administrative efficiency. This paper illustrates how courts can be evaluated in terms of their relative administrative efficiency, using a new approach—data envelopment analysis (DEA)—first proposed by Charnes et al. [1]. The DEA is based upon the economic notion of Pareto optimality which states that a given decision making unit (DMU) is inefficient if some other DMU, or some combination of other DMUs, can produce at least the same amounts of all outputs with less of some resource input and not more of any other resource. Conversely a DMU is said to be efficient if the above is not possible. Charnes et al. [1] generalized the usual input/output ratio measure of efficiency for a given unit in terms of a fractional linear program with fractional constraints. In the case of courts, the efficiency of any particular court is calculated by forming the ratio of a weighted sum of outputs to a weighted sum of inputs, where the weights for both outputs and inputs are to be selected in a manner that calculates the Pareto-Koopmans efficiency of the court. This paper reviews the DEA method and illustrates its application to a data base for 100 criminal superior courts in North Carolina.  相似文献

针对由交叉效率评价策略和交叉效率集结方法的多样性而造成评价结果不一致的问题,提出利用证据推理方法和前景理论,综合各个交叉效率评价策略的评价结果,实现对决策单元的统一评价。首先,分别将选用的交叉效率评价策略以及各个评价策略中的他评效率设置成一级指标和二级指标,依据算数平均和前景理论分别确定一、二级指标的权重;其次,依据他评效率确定二级指标置信度,利用证据推理方法将各个交叉效率评价策略的他评效率综合转换成决策单元被评价为有效的置信度。决策者可通过比较决策单元被识别为有效的置信度的大小来判断决策单元交叉效率的大小,进而实现对决策单元的排序;最后,通过案例验证和说明本文提出方法的有效性和实用性。  相似文献

在数据包络分析中,大量的交叉效率模型已被提出。然而选择不同的目标模型将实现不一样的交叉效率评价。本文基于针对单个决策单元实施的对抗型和仁慈型两个交叉效率模型,用合作博弈方法来研究交叉效率模型的选取,并利用Shapley值对决策单元进行排序。最后通过实例分析显示该排序方法充分利用了最小交叉效率和最大交叉效率的信息完全排序了所有决策单元,具有一定的综合性和合理性。  相似文献

This paper uses the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) technique to solve the problem of allocating a fixed cost across a set of comparable decision making units (DMUs) in a fair way. It first investigates the effect of the fixed cost on each DMU and on the collection of DMUs. Next we prove that there exist some cost allocations which can make each DMU and the collection of DMUs efficient. We show that such a cost allocation is unique and equivalent to the proportional sharing method if the fixed cost allocation problem is a one-dimensional case. In a multidimensional case, the fixed cost allocations may not be unique. This paper defines the concept of satisfaction degree, and proposes a maxmin model and a corresponding algorithm to generate a unique fixed cost allocation. Finally, the proposed approach has been applied to a data set from prior literature.  相似文献

We propose new diversification-consistent DEA models suitable for assessing efficiency of investment opportunities available on financial markets. The formulations based on directional distance measures enable to use several risk measures as inputs and return measures as outputs, which can take both positive and negative values. We show that various models with different strength can be obtained and strongly, semi-strongly or weakly Pareto–Koopmans efficient investment opportunities can be identified. Moreover, the optimal solutions correspond to efficient investment opportunities and can be used by investors to revise the inefficient ones. If we consider discretely distributed returns, we can prove that under proper choice of the inputs (CVaRs) and outputs (expected return), the strongest model is able to identify efficient investment opportunities with respect to the second-order stochastic dominance. Moreover, the model can be formulated as a linear programming problem. In the numerical study, the proposed DEA models are applied to 48 representative industry portfolios from US stock markets.  相似文献

The existing centralized resource allocation models often assume that all of the DMUs are efficient after resource allocation. For the DMU with a very low efficiency score, it means the dramatic reduction of the resources, which can cause the organizational resistance. In addition, in reality, it is particularly difficult for the DMUs to achieve their target efficiencies in a single step, especially when they are far from the efficient frontier. Thus, gradual progress towards benchmarking targets is gaining importance. In this paper, we present a new approach for resource allocation based on efficiency analysis under a centralized decision-making environment. Through our approach, the central decision-maker can obtain a sequence of intermediate benchmark targets based on efficiency analysis, which provide a level-wise improvement path to direct the DMUs to reach their ultimate targets on the efficient frontier in an implementable and realistic manner. Numerical examples are presented to illustrate the application procedure of the proposed approach.  相似文献

传统交叉效率评价方法因决策单元偏好权重不唯一而难以操作,因交叉效率有效性分值平均化集结而难以被接受。目前的学者通常围绕决策单元指标权重的确定性分配方法、交叉效率有效性分值的去平均化集结等分别开展研究。本文将交叉效率评价方法中自评互评相结合的评价模式看作群决策过程,即每个决策单元既是一个被评对象,又是一个决策"专家",提出了一种决策单元交叉效率的自适应群评价方法,将决策单元偏好权重的确定和交叉效率有效性分值的去平均化集结作为同一个决策过程,根据每个决策单元的评价结果与群体评价结果的接近程度,同步迭代调整决策单元的"专家"权重和决策单元自评产生的、并提供给其他被评价决策单元的一组确定的偏好指标权重。实验验证与实例运用分析表明,该方法收敛效果良好,能得到客观稳定的决策单元交叉效率有效性分值及排序。  相似文献

Conventional data envelopment analysis (DEA) treats the production system as a black box when measuring efficiency, ignoring its internal structure. By taking the operations of the component processes of the system into consideration, several network DEA models have been developed. Of these, the slacks-based measure (SBM) approach has attracted much attention for its ability to provide suitable efficiency measures, especially for weakly efficient production units. This paper proposes a general SBM model for network systems, and is able to decompose the system efficiency into a weighted average of the process efficiencies. This relationship holds for all types of network structure. An example shows that the network model has stronger discriminating power than the conventional black-box model, and the system efficiency is indeed a weighted average of the process efficiencies. The decomposition of the system efficiency helps identify key factors to improve the performance of a production unit.  相似文献

本文研究了一类典型并行系统的效率评价问题:(1)决策单元由两个并行的子单元组成;(2)在整个系统中,某一子单元居于主导地位,另一子单元居于从属地位;(3)两个子单元之间存在部分共享的投入资源,且无法明显区别该资源在不同子单元之间的分配比例。在分析决策单元整体效率及内部子单元效率的基础上,基于主从博弈思想,提出一种能同时确定系统整体效率及内部子单元效率的评价方法,该方法能够在评价系统效率的同时,实现共享资源的有效分配。最后,采用一个实例分析说明了所提方法的合理性和有效性。  相似文献

In this paper, we extend the standard data envelopment analysis (DEA) model to include longer term top management goals. This extension is in recognition of the fact that benchmarking for decision making units (DMUs) is more than a purely monitoring process, and includes a component of future planning. The new model uses a goal programming structure to find points on the efficient frontier which are realistically achievable by DMUs, but at the same time achieving a closer approach to long term organizational goals (as distinct from the local performance of individual DMUs). Consideration is given to the possibility of adjusting constraints on the DMU by investment in extended inputs or new technologies, in which case minimization of associated investment costs becomes an additional management objective.  相似文献

Current data envelopment analysis (DEA) models with diversification cannot discriminate the performance of efficient mutual funds. Based on the directional distance function and diversification DEA models, this paper proposes two diversification super-efficiency models for discriminating the performance of efficient mutual funds on financial market. The proposed diversification super-efficiency models as well as the corresponding diversification DEA models are feasible and can deal with negative values in risk measures, transaction costs and return measures. The proposed methods generate bounded super-efficiency scores for all the funds. Under the assumption of discrete return distributions, all the models in the proposed diversification super-efficiency methods can be transformed into linear programming (LP) problems by choosing proper risk and return measures. To demonstrate the validity and practicality of the proposed diversification super-efficiency methods, we apply them to evaluate the performance of mutual funds in the American market. The empirical results show that the proposed diversification super-efficiency models can distinguish efficient funds well and the linear combination of efficient funds might be inefficient. Moreover, the backtesting results show that the proposed diversification super-efficiency models generally have a good practice value for the actual portfolio selection.  相似文献
