研究性教学法在大学思政课的应用

市场营销学课程教学改革——基于研究性教学视角

本文从市场营销学课程的特点出发,分析了目前该课程的教学现状,指出应该改善目前的教学方式,增强学生在学习过程中的主体地位.接着本文分析了研究性教学的特点及其理论基础,最后从教学内容的组织安排,教学方法的整合,教学评价体系的调整等方面提出了加强研究性教学的对策措施.

高职院校英语听力分层教学模式探讨

由于高职院校学生入学时的英语听力基础普遍差异较大,两极分化的现象日益加剧,为使所有学生都能得到发展,必须打破传统的课堂教学组织形式．实施分层教学。分层教学模式为学生确定不同层次的教学目标,设置不同的教学内容,采取不同的教学方式以及不同的考核内容和评价标准,使不同层次的学生在适合自己学习程度的班级学习,激发学生的学习兴趣和学习潜能,从而提高英语听力水平和理解能力。     

Teaching without being taught how: social work practice faculty voices

ABSTRACT

Social work practice faculty have an important role in socializing MSW students to the field and practice of social work. This study, based on interviews with 15 faculty teaching an advanced clinical practice course in the United States, examines how faculty conceptualize teaching and learning. Faculty were asked about the theories or frameworks that guided their teaching, their own journeys to teaching and the resources that support their teaching. The study found that participants drew largely on their own experiences as student learners and social work practitioners and did not have much formal training in teaching and student learning. Furthermore, while half of the participants were able to identify a learning theory that guided their teaching, the other half were not. Finally, while participants articulated the need for support regarding their own teaching, many of the schools did not have formal faculty development opportunities. The paper ends with recommendations for supporting current and new faculty regarding teaching and student learning.     

Technology-Enhanced Practice Courses and Collaborative Learning in Distance Education

This article describes the use of a research-based teaching model using digital technology to enhance self-efficacy and group work practice skills in an undergraduate social work course. Our project focused on the development of group leadership interactional skill training for undergraduate social work students. We present pedagogical and theoretical approaches explaining a teaching model, which is designed to utilize digital technology and collaborative learning strategies in Interactive Video Connected (IVC) and traditional face-to-face classrooms. We explore how the teaching model impacts student perception of self-efficacy regarding group work practice skills.

Intercultural teaching competence: a multi-disciplinary model for instructor reflection

Abstract

This article presents a model for Intercultural Teaching Competence (ITC) that instructors may use as a tool for reflection as they prepare to facilitate learning across cultures. Building on previous research on intercultural competence, culturally relevant teaching, intercultural trainer competencies, and student-centred approaches to teaching, the model identifies concrete facilitation techniques for instructors who would like to further develop their own teaching practice or mentor colleagues in effective teaching across cultures. The model consists of 20 instructor competencies grouped into three categories: foundational skills, facilitation skills, and curriculum development skills for intercultural learning. While intended as a tool to guide instructors in individual and group reflection on inclusive teaching practices, the ITC model may also be used by educational developers to guide feedback during classroom observations or while supporting curriculum internationalisation initiatives. Recommendations for use in faculty learning communities and workshops are included at the end of the article. The ITC model will benefit instructors in a variety of disciplines who teach in diverse and multidisciplinary classrooms, discuss global or social justice issues in their class, and those who seek to include intercultural and Indigenous perspectives in their curriculum.     

Using Student-Written Cases to Enhance Competency-Based Assessment and Diagnostic Skills

Abstract

The current article describes the use of student-written cases as a pedagogical tool in helping direct practice graduate students improve competency-based assessment and diagnostic skills. The history of the case method and case writing is presented, followed by an example of a student-written case that was assigned in a course that covers mental disorders. The use of the student-written case is explored in regard to its efficacy in helping students improve their assessment and diagnostic skills using the competency-based model. Student-written cases are then discussed in terms of their benefit to: (1) the student writing the case; (2) the student learning from the case; and (3) the instructor who uses the case as a teaching tool.     

Solving Current Social Challenges: Engaging Undergraduates in Policy Practice

This article explores an innovation in teaching policy practice at the undergraduate level. It analyzes an experiential learning model that uses current social challenges as a compelling way to generate student learning about policy practice. Over the course of the semester, students examine antecedents, current issues, and potential solutions to a contemporary social issue through a series of assignments that build knowledge and skills and link the topic to larger social policy concerns. Using quantitative and qualitative evidence from seven semesters, the article explores benefits and challenges of this approach to teaching, and derives lessons for social work education.
