The techniques for recursive estimation of the general linear model with dependent errors and known second order properties, is generalised to allow for simultaneous addition of an arbitrary number of additional observations. Computational formulae for recursive updating of parameter estimates are derived, together with a sequence of univariate recursive residuals for testing the constancy of the regression relation over time.  相似文献

The stochastic version of the logistic model for population growth is generalized to take account of continuously distributed time delay with an exponentially decaying kernel. The theory of diffusion processes is used to analyse the probability density function of the population size. The explicit expression for the stationary distribution is worked out and the effect of time delay on various statistics is discussed.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

System failure data is often analyzed to estimate component reliabilities. Due to cost and time constraints, the exact component causing the failure of the system cannot be identified in some cases. This phenomenon is called masking. Further, it is sometimes necessary for us to take account of the influence of the operating environment. Here we consider a series system, operating under unknown environment, of two components whose failure times follow the Marshall-Olkin bivariate exponential distribution. We present a maximum likelihood approach for obtaining estimators from the masked data for this system. From a simulation study, we found that the relative errors of the estimates are almost well behaved even for small or moderate expected number of systems whose cause of failure is identified.  相似文献

This paper describes the properties of a two-stage estimator of the dependence parameter in the Clayton-Oakes multivariate failure time model. The parameter is estimated from a likelihood function in which the marginal hazard functions are replaced by estimates. The method extends the approach of Shih and Louis (1995) and Genest, Ghoudi and Rivest (1995) to allow the marginal hazard for failure times to follow a stratified Cox (1972) model. The method is computationally simple and under mild regularity conditions produces a consistent, asymptotically normal estimator.  相似文献

We describe how a log-linear model can be used to compute the nonparametric maximum likelihood estimate of the survival curve from interval-censored data. This permits such computation to be performed with the aid of readily available statistical software such as GLIM or SAS. The method is illustrated with reference to data from a cohort of Danish homosexual men, each of whom was tested for HIV positivity on one or more of six possible follow-up times.  相似文献

Muitivariate failure time data are common in medical research; com¬monly used statistical models for such correlated failure-time data include frailty and marginal models. Both types of models most often assume pro¬portional hazards (Cox, 1972); but the Cox model may not fit the data well This article presents a class of linear transformation frailty models that in¬cludes, as a special case, the proportional hazards model with frailty. We then propose approximate procedures to derive the best linear unbiased es¬timates and predictors of the regression parameters and frailties. We apply the proposed methods to analyze results of a clinical trial of different dose levels of didansine (ddl) among HIV-infected patients who were intolerant of zidovudine (ZDV). These methods yield estimates of treatment effects and of frailties corresponding to patient groups defined by clinical history prior to entry into the trial.  相似文献
