A group of photographers visited the Sun Village, a charity center for children whose parents are in jail, in Beijing on December 22, 2013, the year＇s winter solstice. The winter solstice is a traditional Chinese festival and is often marked by lamily reunions. Members of the China Women Photographers Association, including President Wang Yao and Vice-President and Secretary-General Lv Jingbo, visited the Village. They spent the day at the village playing games and cooking for the children.     

《贪婪青春的20个片段》

The book 20 Fragments of a Ravenous Youth is Xiaolu Guo＇s work before A Concise Chinese-English Dictionary for Lovers. It was published after Dictionary, and Guo won the 2007 Orange Fiction prize for the novel. Like Dictionary, 20 Fragments features a young Chinese woman＇s growth and experiences in a strange new place; she dives into romantic relationships, which help shape her character.     

《长恨歌》

The Song of Everlasting Sorrow is critically acclaimed and widely considered to be Wang Anyi＇s greatest masterpiece -- and quite possibly one of the greatest examples of modern Chinese literature. It has enjoyed a good deal of success： It won the prestigious Mao Dun Prize, in 2000, for its original Chinese version, Chang Hen Ge. The novel was published in 1995 and later translated into English by Michael Berry and Susan Chan Egan. It was given the English title The Song of Everlasting Sorrow： A Novel of Shanghai.     

《团圆》

On the heels of the international success of Tuya＇s Marriage, Wang Quan＇an directs the heart-touching Apart Together （Tuan Yuan, in Chinese）, which means happily reunited. Again, his focus is on family, which is ripped apart by misfortune. Family is one of Wang＇s universal themes, and in Apart Together. it is well translated for both Eastern and Western audiences.

The ＂Chinese Dream＂ has become deeply rooted in Chinese people＇s hearts because it involves China＇s prosperity and rejuvenation, and because it involves Chinese people＇s happiness. The dreams of Chinese women are not merely a part of the ＂Chinese Dream;＂ instead, the dreams make up a key foundation of the ＂Chinese Dream.＂     

Promoting Harmony within Families

The ACWF and the Chinese Women＇s Research Society （CWRS） held, in Beijing on October 30, a seminar on eradicating sexual harassment in universities. Tan Lin, Member of ACWF＇s Secretariat and Vice-President of CWRS, Gao Shawei, Director of ACWF＇s Legal Department, and Xu Tao, Director of the Teachers＇ Department of China＇s Ministry of Education, spoke during the event. More than 50 people -- including leaders and teachers from 22 universities （in various regions of China）, each of which has established a women and gender research and training base with ACWF and CWRS＇s help -- attended. During the seminar, many participants offeredsuggestions on how to curb and prevent sexual harassment.     

国际交流

Invited by the president of Polish Women＇s League, a four-member delegation of Chinese women visited Poland and attended the event to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Polish Women＇s League from October 18-20, 2013. The delegation, headed by Mu Hong, Director-General of the International Department of the All-China Women＇s Federation, visited grass-roots organizations of Polish Women＇s League. A. Michalak, President of Polish Women＇s League, met with the delegation. Both sides shared their opinions on improving the friendly cooperation between Chinese and Polish women. The visit helped to renew the traditional friendship between ACWF and Polish Women＇s League.
