 在颇具争议的收入差距和健康关系研究中,为了降低可能存在的模型设定和遗漏变量偏误,本文提出了随机效应半参数logit模型,其中非参数的设定还可用于数据的初探性分析。随后本文提出了模型非参数和参数部分的估计方法。这里涉及的难点是随机效应的存在导致似然函数中的积分没有解析式,而非参数的存在更加大了估计难度。本文基于惩罚样条非参数估计方法和四阶Laplace近似方法建立了惩罚对数似然函数,其最大化采用了Newton_Raphson近似方法。文章还建立了惩罚样条中重要光滑参数的选取准则。模型在收入差距和健康实例中的估计结果表明数据支持收入差距弱假说,且非参数估计结果表明其具有U型形式,与实例估计结果的比较指出本文提出的估计方法是较准确的。  相似文献

In this paper, we develop a new estimation procedure based on quantile regression for semiparametric partially linear varying-coefficient models. The proposed estimation approach is empirically shown to be much more efficient than the popular least squares estimation method for non-normal error distributions, and almost not lose any efficiency for normal errors. Asymptotic normalities of the proposed estimators for both the parametric and nonparametric parts are established. To achieve sparsity when there exist irrelevant variables in the model, two variable selection procedures based on adaptive penalty are developed to select important parametric covariates as well as significant nonparametric functions. Moreover, both these two variable selection procedures are demonstrated to enjoy the oracle property under some regularity conditions. Some Monte Carlo simulations are conducted to assess the finite sample performance of the proposed estimators, and a real-data example is used to illustrate the application of the proposed methods.  相似文献

The field of nonparametric function estimation has broadened its appeal in recent years with an array of new tools for statistical analysis. In particular, theoretical and applied research on the field of wavelets has had noticeable influence on statistical topics such as nonparametric regression, nonparametric density estimation, nonparametric discrimination and many other related topics. This is a survey article that attempts to synthetize a broad variety of work on wavelets in statistics and includes some recent developments in nonparametric curve estimation that have been omitted from review articles and books on the subject. After a short introduction to wavelet theory, wavelets are treated in the familiar context of estimation of «smooth» functions. Both «linear» and «nonlinear» wavelet estimation methods are discussed and cross-validation methods for choosing the smoothing parameters are addressed. Finally, some areas of related research are mentioned, such as hypothesis testing, model selection, hazard rate estimation for censored data, and nonparametric change-point problems. The closing section formulates some promising research directions relating to wavelets in statistics.  相似文献

This article considers analyzing longitudinal binary data semiparametrically and proposing GEE-Smoothing spline in the estimation of parametric and nonparametric components. The method is an extension of the parametric generalized estimating equation to semiparametric. The nonparametric component is estimated by smoothing spline approach, i.e., natural cubic spline. We use profile algorithm in the estimation of both parametric and nonparametric components. Properties of the estimators are evaluated by simulation.  相似文献

Normalized random measures with independent increments are a general, tractable class of nonparametric prior. This paper describes sequential Monte Carlo methods for both conjugate and non-conjugate nonparametric mixture models with these priors. A simulation study is used to compare the efficiency of the different algorithms for density estimation and comparisons made with Markov chain Monte Carlo methods. The SMC methods are further illustrated by applications to dynamically fitting a nonparametric stochastic volatility model and to estimation of the marginal likelihood in a goodness-of-fit testing example.  相似文献

Local maximum likelihood estimation is a nonparametric counterpart of the widely used parametric maximum likelihood technique. It extends the scope of the parametric maximum likelihood method to a much wider class of parametric spaces. Associated with this nonparametric estimation scheme is the issue of bandwidth selection and bias and variance assessment. This paper provides a unified approach to selecting a bandwidth and constructing confidence intervals in local maximum likelihood estimation. The approach is then applied to least squares nonparametric regression and to nonparametric logistic regression. Our experiences in these two settings show that the general idea outlined here is powerful and encouraging.  相似文献

This article discusses estimation of the cure rate by means of the bounded cumulative hazard (BCH) model using interval censored data. The parametric and nonparametric estimation methods within the framework of the EM algorithm were employed for cure rate estimation and their results compared. The Turnbull estimator was used in the nonparametric estimation while in parametric method both the exponential and Weibull distributions were considered. We show via simulation that the nonparametric method is a viable alternative to the parametric one when the censoring rate is rapidly increasing.  相似文献

Single index models are natural extensions of linear models and overcome the so-called curse of dimensionality. They are very useful for longitudinal data analysis. In this paper, we develop a new efficient estimation procedure for single index models with longitudinal data, based on Cholesky decomposition and local linear smoothing method. Asymptotic normality for the proposed estimators of both the parametric and nonparametric parts will be established. Monte Carlo simulation studies show excellent finite sample performance. Furthermore, we illustrate our methods with a real data example.  相似文献

In this article, we suggest a semi-parametric estimation for Forward–Backward Stochastic Differential Equations (FBSDE), with a linear generator. Both the nonparametric and parametric estimators are computationally feasible and the asymptotic properties are standard in the sense of normality. Although there is a plug-in nonparametric estimator in parametric estimation, the high order kernel, under-smoothing and bias correction are not required. Some simulation studies are also given to illustrate our methods.  相似文献

We consider nonparametric estimation of a regression curve when the data are observed with Berkson errors or with a mixture of classical and Berkson errors. In this context, other existing nonparametric procedures can either estimate the regression curve consistently on a very small interval or require complicated inversion of an estimator of the Fourier transform of a nonparametric regression estimator. We introduce a new estimation procedure which is simpler to implement, and study its asymptotic properties. We derive convergence rates which are faster than those previously obtained in the literature, and we prove that these rates are optimal. We suggest a data-driven bandwidth selector and apply our method to some simulated examples.  相似文献

Population size estimation with discrete or nonparametric mixture models is considered, and reliable ways of construction of the nonparametric mixture model estimator are reviewed and set into perspective. Construction of the maximum likelihood estimator of the mixing distribution is done for any number of components up to the global nonparametric maximum likelihood bound using the EM algorithm. In addition, the estimators of Chao and Zelterman are considered with some generalisations of Zelterman’s estimator. All computations are done with CAMCR, a special software developed for population size estimation with mixture models. Several examples and data sets are discussed and the estimators illustrated. Problems using the mixture model-based estimators are highlighted.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the estimation of partially linear additive quantile regression models where the conditional quantile function comprises a linear parametric component and a nonparametric additive component. We propose a two-step estimation approach: in the first step, we approximate the conditional quantile function using a series estimation method. In the second step, the nonparametric additive component is recovered using either a local polynomial estimator or a weighted Nadaraya–Watson estimator. Both consistency and asymptotic normality of the proposed estimators are established. Particularly, we show that the first-stage estimator for the finite-dimensional parameters attains the semiparametric efficiency bound under homoskedasticity, and that the second-stage estimators for the nonparametric additive component have an oracle efficiency property. Monte Carlo experiments are conducted to assess the finite sample performance of the proposed estimators. An application to a real data set is also illustrated.  相似文献

The methods of estimation of nonparametric regression function are quite common in statistical application. In this paper, the new Bayesian wavelet thresholding estimation is considered. The new mixture prior distributions for the estimation of nonparametric regression function by applying wavelet transformation are investigated. The reversible jump algorithm to obtain the appropriate prior distributions and value of thresholding is used. The performance of the proposed estimator is assessed with simulated data from well-known test functions by comparing the convergence rate of the proposed estimator with respect to another by evaluating the average mean square error and standard deviations. Finally by applying the developed method, density function of galaxy data is estimated.  相似文献

The problem of predicting a future value of a time series is considered in this article. If the series follows a stationary Markov process, this can be done by nonparametric estimation of the autoregression function. Two forecasting algorithms are introduced. They only differ in the nonparametric kernel-type estimator used: the Nadaraya-Watson estimator and the local linear estimator. There are three major issues in the implementation of these algorithms: selection of the autoregressor variables, smoothing parameter selection, and computing prediction intervals. These have been tackled using recent techniques borrowed from the nonparametric regression estimation literature under dependence. The performance of these nonparametric algorithms has been studied by applying them to a collection of 43 well-known time series. Their results have been compared to those obtained using classical Box-Jenkins methods. Finally, the practical behavior of the methods is also illustrated by a detailed analysis of two data sets.  相似文献

Multivariate density estimation plays an important role in investigating the mechanism of high-dimensional data. This article describes a nonparametric Bayesian approach to the estimation of multivariate densities. A general procedure is proposed for constructing Feller priors for multivariate densities and their theoretical properties as nonparametric priors are established. A blocked Gibbs sampling algorithm is devised to sample from the posterior of the multivariate density. A simulation study is conducted to evaluate the performance of the procedure.  相似文献

A method for nonparametric estimation of density based on a randomly censored sample is presented. The density is expressed as a linear combination of cubic M -splines, and the coefficients are determined by pseudo-maximum-likelihood estimation (likelihood is maximized conditionally on data-dependent knots). By using regression splines (small number of knots) it is possible to reduce the estimation problem to a space of low dimension while preserving flexibility, thus striking a compromise between parametric approaches and ordinary nonparametric approaches based on spline smoothing. The number of knots is determined by the minimum AIC. Examples of simulated and real data are presented. Asymptotic theory and the bootstrap indicate that the precision and the accuracy of the estimates are satisfactory.  相似文献

To estimate parameters defined by estimating equations with covariates missing at random, we consider three bias-corrected nonparametric approaches based on inverse probability weighting, regression and augmented inverse probability weighting. However, when the dimension of covariates is not low, the estimation efficiency will be affected due to the curse of dimensionality. To address this issue, we propose a two-stage estimation procedure by using the dimension-reduced kernel estimation in conjunction with bias-corrected estimating equations. We show that the resulting three estimators are asymptotically equivalent and achieve the desirable properties. The impact of dimension reduction in nonparametric estimation of parameters is also investigated. The finite-sample performance of the proposed estimators is studied through simulation, and an application to an automobile data set is also presented.  相似文献

Nonparametric estimation of the probability density function f° of a lifetime distribution based on arbitrarily right-censor-ed observations from f° has been studied extensively in recent years. In this paper the density estimators from censored data that have been obtained to date are outlined. Histogram, kernel-type, maximum likelihood, series-type, and Bayesian nonparametric estimators are included. Since estimation of the hazard rate function can be considered as giving a density estimate, all known results concerning nonparametric hazard rate estimation from censored samples are also briefly mentioned.  相似文献

Two classes of semiparametric and nonparametric mixture models are defined to represent general kinds of prior information. For these models the nonparametric maximum likelihood estimator (NPMLE) of an unknown probability distribution is derived and is shown to be consistent and relative efficient. Linear functionals are used for the estimation of parameters. Their consistency is proved, the gain of efficiency is derived and asymptotical distributions are given.  相似文献
