Homogeneity of dispersion parameters and zero-inflation parameters is a standard assumption in zero-inflated generalized Poisson regression (ZIGPR) models. However, this assumption may be not appropriate in some situations. This work develops a score test for varying dispersion and/or zero-inflation parameter in the ZIGPR models, and corresponding test statistics are obtained. Two numerical examples are given to illustrate our methodology, and the properties of score test statistics are investigated through Monte Carlo simulations.  相似文献

The data of Bissell [A.F. Bissell, A negative binomial model with varying element sizes, Biometrika 59 (1972) 435–441] are counts of the number of flaws in rolls of textile fabric of different lengths. Given that the simple Poisson model is rejected due to overdispersion, we propose an analysis of the data by means of a general family of discrete laws, indexed by a parameter that distinguishes several well-known distributions. Our methodology provides some insight into the quality of the production and a relatively straightforward way to evaluate the probability distribution of the aggregate cost of the defects, avoiding the evaluation of convolutions.  相似文献

In many applications, the clustered count data often contain excess zeros and the zero-inflated generalized Poisson mixed (ZIGPM) regression model may be suitable. However, dispersion in ZIGPM is often treated as fixed unknown parameter, and this assumption may be not appropriate in some situations. In this article, a score test for homogeneity of dispersion parameter in ZIGPM regression model is developed and corresponding test statistic is obtained. Sampling distribution and power of the score test statistic are investigated through Monte Carlo simulation. Finally, results from a biological example illustrate the usefulness of the diagnostic statistic.  相似文献

A number of methods have been proposed for dealing with extra-Poisson variation when doing regression analysis of count data. This paper studies negative-binomial regression models and examines efficiency and robustness properties of inference procedures based on them. The methods are compared with quasilikelihood methods.  相似文献

We address the issue of model selection in beta regressions with varying dispersion. The model consists of two submodels, namely: for the mean and for the dispersion. Our focus is on the selection of the covariates for each submodel. Our Monte Carlo evidence reveals that the joint selection of covariates for the two submodels is not accurate in finite samples. We introduce two new model selection criteria that explicitly account for varying dispersion and propose a fast two step model selection scheme which is considerably more accurate and is computationally less costly than usual joint model selection. Monte Carlo evidence is presented and discussed. We also present the results of an empirical application.  相似文献

Most of the current research on optimal experimental designs for generalized linear models focuses on logistic regression models. In this paper, D-optimal designs for Poisson regression models are discussed. For the one-variable first-order Poisson regression model, it has been found that the D-optimal design, in terms of effective dose levels, is independent of the model parameters. However, it is not the case for more complicated models. We investigate how the D-optimal designs depend on the model parameters for the one-variable second-order model and two-variable interaction model. The performance of some “standard” designs that appeal to practitioners is also studied.  相似文献

Overdispersion has been a common phenomenon in count data and usually treated with the negative binomial model. This paper shows that measurement errors in covariates in general also lead to overdispersion on the observed data if the true data generating process is indeed the Poisson regression. This kind of overdispersion cannot be treated using the negative binomial model, as otherwise, biases will occur. To provide consistent estimates, we propose a new type of corrected score estimator assuming that the distribution of the latent variables is known. The consistency and asymptotic normality of the proposed estimator are established. Simulation results show that this estimator has good finite sample performance. We also illustrate that the Akaike information criterion and Bayesian information criterion work well for selecting the correct model if the true model is the errors-in-variables Poisson regression.  相似文献

The beta regression models are commonly used by practitioners to model variables that assume values in the standard unit interval (0, 1). In this paper, we consider the issue of variable selection for beta regression models with varying dispersion (VBRM), in which both the mean and the dispersion depend upon predictor variables. Based on a penalized likelihood method, the consistency and the oracle property of the penalized estimators are established. Following the coordinate descent algorithm idea of generalized linear models, we develop new variable selection procedure for the VBRM, which can efficiently simultaneously estimate and select important variables in both mean model and dispersion model. Simulation studies and body fat data analysis are presented to illustrate the proposed methods.  相似文献

This paper deals with the estimation of conditional quantiles in varying coefficient models by estimating the coefficients. Varying coefficient models are among popular models that have been proposed to alleviate the curse of dimensionality. Previous works on varying coefficient models deal with conditional means directly or indirectly. However, quantiles themselves can be defined without moment conditions and plotting several conditional quantiles would give us more understanding of the data than plotting just the conditional mean. Particularly, we estimate the conditional median by estimating varying coefficients by local L1 regression.  相似文献

When a generalized linear mixed model with multiple (two or more) sources of random effects is considered, the inferences may vary depending on the nature of the random effects. In this paper, we consider a familial Poisson mixed model where each of the count responses of a family are influenced by two independent unobservable familial random effects with two distinct components of dispersion. A generalized quasilikelihood (GQL) approach is discussed for the estimation of the dispersion components as well as the regression effects of the model. A simulation study is conducted to examine the relative performance of the GQL approach as opposed to a simpler method of moments. Furthermore, the GQL estimation methodology is illustrated by using health care utilization data that follow a Poisson mixed model with one component of dispersion and by using simulated asthma data that follow a Poisson mixed model with two sources of random effects with two distinct components of dispersion.  相似文献

In this paper, we develop diagnostic methods for generalized Poisson regression (GPR) models with errors in variables based on the corrected likelihood. The one-step approximations of the estimates in the case-deletion model are given and case-deletion and local influence measures are presented. Meanwhile, based on a corrected score function, the testing statistics for the significance of dispersion parameters in GPR models with measurement errors are investigated. Finally, illustration of our methodology is given through numerical examples.  相似文献

Varying coefficient models are flexible models to describe the dynamic structure in longitudinal data. Quantile regression, more than mean regression, gives partial information on the conditional distribution of the response given the covariates. In the literature, the focus has been so far mostly on homoscedastic quantile regression models, whereas there is an interest in looking into heteroscedastic modelling. This paper contributes to the area by modelling the heteroscedastic structure and estimating it from the data, together with estimating the quantile functions. The use of the proposed methods is illustrated on real-data applications. The finite-sample behaviour of the methods is investigated via a simulation study, which includes a comparison with an existing method.  相似文献

Based on a compound Poisson distribution, new bivariate regression models are introduced and studied. The parameters of the bivariate regression models are estimated by using the maximum likelihood method. Two applications on real datasets are presented to illustrate the models. The results show that these models are compatible to other bivariate Poisson models.  相似文献

Time series of counts occur in many fields of practice, with the Poisson distribution as a popular choice for the marginal process distribution. A great variety of serial dependence structures of stationary count processes can be modelled by the INARMA family. In this article, we propose a new approach to the INMA(q) family in general, including previously known results as special cases. In the particular case of Poisson marginals, we will derive new results concerning regression properties and the serial dependence structure of INAR(1) and INMA(q) models. Finally, we present explicit expressions for the distribution of jumps in such processes.  相似文献

The statistical methods for analyzing spatial count data have often been based on random fields so that a latent variable can be used to specify the spatial dependence. In this article, we introduce two frequentist approaches for estimating the parameters of model-based spatial count variables. The comparison has been carried out by a simulation study. The performance is also evaluated using a real dataset and also by the simulation study. The simulation results show that the maximum likelihood estimator appears to be with the better sampling properties.  相似文献

The objective of this paper is to suggest a method of estimating the individual response coefficients in varying coefficients regression models. An empirical

application of the method is demonstrated, using farm-level micro data from the Philip-

As a useful supplement to mean regression, quantile regression is a completely distribution-free approach and is more robust to heavy-tailed random errors. In this paper, a variable selection procedure for quantile varying coefficient models is proposed by combining local polynomial smoothing with adaptive group LASSO. With an appropriate selection of tuning parameters by the BIC criterion, the theoretical properties of the new procedure, including consistency in variable selection and the oracle property in estimation, are established. The finite sample performance of the newly proposed method is investigated through simulation studies and the analysis of Boston house price data. Numerical studies confirm that the newly proposed procedure (QKLASSO) has both robustness and efficiency for varying coefficient models irrespective of error distribution, which is a good alternative and necessary supplement to the KLASSO method.  相似文献

The class of nonlinear reproductive dispersion mixed models (NRDMMs) is an extension of nonlinear reproductive dispersion models and generalized linear mixed models. This paper discusses the influence analysis of the model based on Laplace approximation. The equivalence of case-deletion models and mean-shift outlier models in NRDMMs is investigated, and some diagnostic measures are proposed via the case-deletion method. We also investigate the assessment of local influence of various perturbation schemes. The proposed method is illustrated with an example.  相似文献

Multivariate Poisson regression with covariance structure   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
In recent years the applications of multivariate Poisson models have increased, mainly because of the gradual increase in computer performance. The multivariate Poisson model used in practice is based on a common covariance term for all the pairs of variables. This is rather restrictive and does not allow for modelling the covariance structure of the data in a flexible way. In this paper we propose inference for a multivariate Poisson model with larger structure, i.e. different covariance for each pair of variables. Maximum likelihood estimation, as well as Bayesian estimation methods are proposed. Both are based on a data augmentation scheme that reflects the multivariate reduction derivation of the joint probability function. In order to enlarge the applicability of the model we allow for covariates in the specification of both the mean and the covariance parameters. Extension to models with complete structure with many multi-way covariance terms is discussed. The method is demonstrated by analyzing a real life data set.  相似文献

Count data are very often analyzed under the assumption of a Poisson model [(Agresti, A., 1996. An Introduction to Categorical Data Analysis. Wiley, New York; Generalized Linear Models, second ed. Chapman & Hall, New York)]. However, the derived inference is generally erroneous if the underlying distribution is not Poisson (Biometrika 70, 269–274).A parametric robust regression approach is proposed for the analysis of count data. More specifically it will be demonstrated that the Poisson regression model could be properly adjusted to become asymptotically valid for inference about regression parameters, even if the Poisson assumption fails. With large samples the novel robust methodology provides legitimate likelihood functions for regression parameters, so long as the true underlying distributions have finite second moments. Adjustments that robustify the Poisson regression will be given, respectively, under log link and identity link functions. Simulation studies will be used to demonstrate the efficacy of the robust Poisson regression model.  相似文献
