新中国体育事业发展的历史,是一段不断填补空白、不断打破纪录的历史,一批批优秀的运动员,用他们的汗水和努力,洗雪了东亚病夫的耻辱,为中国和世界体育事业的进步做出了贡献。而如今,21世纪的中华民族正由一个体育大国向体育强国努力转型。中国军团在2008北京奥运会上的颠峰辉煌无疑是中国体育史上承前启后的重要里程碑。让我们铭记历史,期冀未来!     

Poverty,Partner Abuse,and Women's Mental Health: New Knowledge for Better Practice

ABSTRACT.

To better understand how poverty and poor mental health impact women who are abused by intimate partners, a convenience sample of 300 abused women using shelters or justice services for the 1st time were interviewed. The 300 women were categorized as having no income, being above poverty, and being below poverty according to U.S. Poverty Guidelines. Results indicated that no direct effect of income on poor mental health was noted; however, an interaction between type and severity of abuse and income level had an impact on poor mental health. Abused women who were above poverty with the highest incomes reported the highest levels of depression in the presence of high physical and sexual abuse. In contrast, women reporting no income reported no significant effect of severity or type of abuse on depression scores. Women just above the poverty level who experienced severe abuse were at highest risk for mental health problems. Poverty impacts the mental health of abused women according to the degree of poverty and type and severity of abuse. More research is needed to specify programs to maximize the mental health functioning and economic solvency of abused women.     

A New Paradigm for Understanding Women's Sexuality and Sexual Orientation

Major scientific findings about women's sexuality and sexual orientation are reviewed. Sexual orientation is unrelated to mental health. There is no inherent association between gender conformity and women's sexual orientation; masculinity and femininity are linked to sexual orientation in some social contexts but not in others. Research has so far failed to identify major biological or childhood antecedents of women's sexual orientation. Women's sexuality and sexual orientation are potentially fluid, changeable over time, and variable across social contexts. Regardless of sexual orientation, there are important commonalities in women's sexuality. In particular, women tend to have a relational or partner-centered orientation to sexuality. Together, these findings provide the basis for a paradigm shift in the conceptualization of women's sexual orientation.     

农业社会的神圣叙事与宗教祭祀——读曹书杰的《后稷传说与后稷文化》

长期以来,学术界一直认为中国古代神话凌乱不成系统,是神话的历史化导致了神话的衰亡。《后稷传说与后稷文化》一书和近些年的本土神话个案研究表明,这一套用西方理论得出的结论,并不符合中国的历史事实。《后稷传说与后稷文化》对稷祀形成演变的梳理,不仅表明神灵的神圣叙事总是伴随着神圣的宗教祭典,而且表明中国古代一直存在着一个有别于道教佛教的强大的政治宗教体系和鲜活的民间信仰系统。《后稷传说与后稷文化》对后稷的传说形态、文化形态及其学术层面的演变、发展过程等,第一次做了比较全面、完整的梳理辨析,也是第一次对稷祀文化做了比较深入系统的研究考察,是对后稷起源传说研究的学术大总结,为我们提供了学术史上的详细资料,为上古神话传说的研究提供了一个较为成功的范例。

侯孝贤的电影创作自20世纪90年代中期发生了较明显的变化.一是影片表现的空间范围不断扩展,由中国台湾地区延伸向中国大陆,而后扩展到世界其他国家,获得了开阔的视野和多样化的空间视角;二是出现了时间跨越的现象,经常在电影中将不同的时间年代进行并置,以更加灵活的多重时间视点进行艺术表达;三是以另类女性为主人公的影片明显增多,着重表现边缘女性非常规式的生活状态,揭示她们自我执着的独立人格,呈现其孤独意识和生命体验.上述变化使侯孝贤电影具备了广阔的表现范围、 深度的人文关怀和自觉的文化意识,是对以往创作的发展与有益补充,但也存在重形式轻内容、生活质感不足等问题.     

Gender, Feminism, and Partisanship among Women's PAC Contributors

Objective . We examine the political attitudes and priorities of contributors to two prominent women's PACs for evidence of a gender gap. Methods . A survey of contributors to EMILY's List and to WISH List shows that contributors to both organizations are overwhelmingly women. However, because EMILY's List is so large, there is a sufficient number of men to compare to the two groups of women using percentages and difference-of-means tests. Results . Partisanship is the overriding influence on political priorities and attitudes toward economic and social welfare policy. However, partisanship and gender interact to influence political attitudes in at least two areas. First, EMILY's List men are more supportive of militarism and use of force than are EMILY's List women, but they are less supportive than WISH List women. Second, the women of EMILY's List are more staunchly feminist than either EMILY's List men or WISH List women. Conclusions . We conclude that the source of each group's financial commitment to women's political equality and reproductive rights is different: for EMILY's List women, it is liberal feminism; for WISH List women, it is libertarianism; and for EMILY's List men, it is general egalitarianism.
