对制造战略的实证研究近年来成为国际上生产和运作管理研究领域的热点.其要点是通过实地或问卷调研,在掌握大量丰富数据后,应用多元统计分析技术,挖掘制造战略各组成因素之间的因果、制约等关系.本文应用聚类分析方法,对中国和日本制造企业的制造战略进行了分类研究.用方差分析方法研究了各分类在市场发展目标、供应商选择、生产改善活动和绩效侧重点上的差异.  相似文献

创新被认为是企业生存和组织竞争优势的关键因素.产品创新是企业创新最直接的体现,它既依赖于新概念、新思想的提出,又依赖于企业的制造实践的发展.本文利用国际制造战略调查(IMSS)的数据,通过对中国和美国制造实践差异及其对产品创新影响的分析,结果发现中国企业的制造实践普遍不如美国企业的制造实践,特别是组织层次过多,供应商和客户数量远低于美国企业,在先进制造技术的应用水平上也低于美国.结构方程模型的分析结果则表明,对美国企业而言,过去所采用的制造实践对产品创新具有较为明显的影响,而中国企业基本上没有影响.  相似文献

Evidence suggests that factory-based service will become the next form of competition among manufacturers. If this is true, then manufacturing executives will have to obtain a clear understanding of the service capabilities of their plants and adjust their strategies accordingly. We define a set of factory-based services, information, problem solving, sales, and support, and suggest that they be considered in developing manufacturing strategy. Several propositions provide a framework for future research by linking service performance variables to conventionally accepted manufacturing performance variables.  相似文献

The techniques of quality control have been developed over a number of decades, during which the technology of manufacturing was essentially static in terms of control and strategy. Advances within the past decade have led to substantial changes in the manufacturing environment. Changes in the extent, type, and breadth of application of automation call into question some of the basic assumptions of classical quality control. Changes in the mode of manufacturing, such as JIT and emphasis on smaller lot sizes, raise further questions as to the validity of classical quality control in the modern manufacturing environment. This paper addresses some of the questions raised by recent advances in manufacturing and identifies issues for research in quality and process control in the modern manufacturing.  相似文献

In spite of the significant progress made by a wide range of manufacturing companies over the past decade, few senior executives in U.S. firms would point to manufacturing as a significant source of competitive advantage. This paper seeks to explore some of the basic reasons for this. It begins by providing a framework for manufacturing competitiveness. It then outlines a handful of characteristics that seem to have been pervasive in a wide range of manufacturing competitiveness programs over the past decade. In contrast to those characteristics, it uses three quite different organizations to illustrate a very different mode for pursuing manufacturing competitiveness. Finally, the paper concludes by outlining three elements that appear to be essential in the successful pursuit of manufacturing advantage.  相似文献

As the sphere of competition has expanded from regional to national to international, successful manufacturing decisions have become ever more complex. The success of manufacturing strategics ultimately rests on proper tactical implementation at the shopfloor level. In order to explore various operating policies and procedures at a basic level, and to contrast them with some commonly held beliefs, this paper examines and compares the shopfloor practices of companies in the small machines too! industry in selected countries in the Pacific rim, namely; Japan,

Abstract

Cloud computing is changing the way industries and enterprises run their businesses. Cloud manufacturing is emerging as an approach to transform the traditional manufacturing business model, while helping the manufacturer to align production efficiency with its business strategy, and creating intelligent factory networks that enable collaboration across the whole enterprise. Many production planning and control (PPC) problems are essentially optimisation problems, where the objective is to develop a plan that meets the demand at minimum cost or maximum profit. Because the underlying optimisation problem will vary in the different business and operation phases, it is important to think about optimisation in a dynamic mechanism and in a number of interlinked sub-problems at the same time. Cloud manufacturing has the potential to offer decision support as a service and medium of communication in PPC. To solve these problems and produce collaboration across the supply chain, this paper provides an overview of the state of the art in cloud manufacturing and presents a model of cloud-based production planning and production system for sheet metal processing.  相似文献

The past decade has seen an upsurgence in the number of manufacturing companies that are attempting to transform into computer-integrated enterprises. However, much of the computer-based integration efforts in these manufacturing organizations have been limited in scope and localized within certain areas of the organization (particularly, technology-intensive areas such as the shop floor). Such compartmentalized and myopic approaches to the development of computer-integrated manufacturing (CIM) systems undermine the ability of these systems to reach their fullest potential. CIM is much larger in scope and can impact an organization along various dimensions and at various levels. The fact that no completely integrated manufacturing enterprise has been developed to date can be attributed, in part, to a lack of understanding of the scope and implications of CIM. The purpose of this paper is, therefore, twofold. First, the paper presents a meta-schema (called TRIAD) for multidimensional and multilevel integration of a manufacturing system. Second, on the basis of the proposed meta-schema, the paper develops a taxonomical framework for defining key integration issues in CIM system design and discusses critical research needs that exist in this area. It is hoped that this paper will serve as a road map for research efforts that will enable the emergence of comprehensive CIM systems.  相似文献

This study explored contextual or determining factors and their impacts on lean manufacturing in small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating in food-processing industries. In order to get an in-depth insight into the real situation at the work floor, this study adopted a multiple-case-study research approach. The inherent characteristics of food industries, such as mandatory quality assurance requirements, low shelf life of food products, and the extremely volatile demand and supply presented barriers to lean manufacturing adoption. In addition, the challenges of ‘change’ in an SME environment are distinct from those faced by large organizations. The small size of the plant, the traditional setup, and inflexible layout make it difficult to implement lean manufacturing in food-processing SMEs. The knowledge of contextual factors influencing lean manufacturing adoption in food processing SMEs will be a contribution to current knowledge. Many studies have explored lean constructs and tools, while far fewer have explored the crucial element of actually implementing these. The study will also help practitioners to anticipate potential obstacles and take proper measures to deal with them during lean implementation.  相似文献

We address the single machine scheduling problem to minimize the total weighted earliness and tardiness about a nonrestrictive common due date. This is a basic problem with applications to the just-in-time manufacturing. The problem is linked to a Boolean programming problem with a quadratic objective function, known as the half-product. An approach to developing a fast fully polynomial-time approximation scheme (FPTAS) for the problem is identified and implemented. The running time matches the best known running time for an FPTAS for minimizing a half-product with no additive constant.  相似文献
