For estimating the coefficients in a linear regression model, the double k–class estimators are considered and the small disturbance asymptotic approximation for their density function is obtained. Then employing the criterion of concentration probability around the true parameter values, a comparison is made between the estimators possessing finite moments and the estimators having no finite moments.  相似文献

In this paper, we present the asymptotic properties of maximum quasi-likelihood estimators (MQLEs) in generalized linear models with adaptive designs under some mild regular conditions. The existence of MQLEs in quasi-likelihood equation is discussed. The rate of convergence and asymptotic normality of MQLEs are also established. The results are illustrated by Monte-Carlo simulations.  相似文献

In this paper, we deal with the hypothesis testing problems for the univariate linear calibration, where a normally distributed response variable and an explanatory variable are involved, and the observations of the response variable corresponding to known values of the explanatory variable are used for making inferences concerning a single unknown value of the explanatory variable. The uniformly most powerful unbiased tests for both one-sided and two-sided hypotheses are constructed and verified. The power behaviour of the proposed tests is numerically compared with that of the existing method, and simulations show that the proposed tests make the powers improved.  相似文献

Let Y be distributed symmetrically about Xβ. Natural generalizations of odd location statistics, say T‘Y’, and even location-free statistics, say W‘Y’, that were used by Hogg ‘1960, 1967)’ are introduced. We show that T‘Y’ is distributed symmetrically about β and thus E[T‘Y’] = β and that each element of T‘Y’ is uncorrelated with each element of W‘Y’. Applications of this result are made to R-estiraators and the result is extended to a multivariate linear model situation.  相似文献

The asymptotic structure of a vector of weighted sums of signs of residuals, in the general linear model, is studied. The vector can be used as a basis for outlier-detection tests, or alternatively, setting the vector to zero and solving for the parameter yields a class of robust estimators which are analogues of the sample median. Asymptotic results for both estimates and tests are obtained. The question of optimal weights is investigated, and the optimal estimators in the case of simple linear regression are found to coincide with estimators introduced by Adichie.  相似文献

In this paper, the restricted almost unbiased ridge regression estimator and restricted almost unbiased Liu estimator are introduced for the vector of parameters in a multiple linear regression model with linear restrictions. The bias, variance matrices and mean square error (MSE) of the proposed estimators are derived and compared. It is shown that the proposed estimators will have smaller quadratic bias but larger variance than the corresponding competitors in literatures. However, they will respectively outperform the latter according to the MSE criterion under certain conditions. Finally, a simulation study and a numerical example are given to illustrate some of the theoretical results.  相似文献

Accurate moments of maximum likelihood and moment estimators for the scale and shape parameters of a two parameter gamma density are given, the former being tabulated over a segment of the parameter space. In addition, joint acceptance regions are given for a particular case. The three parameter model is also considered and comments made on second order asymptotics for the maximum likelihood estimators  相似文献

The traditional method for estimating or predicting linear combinations of the fixed effects and realized values of the random effects in mixed linear models is first to estimate the variance components and then to proceed as if the estimated values of the variance components were the true values. This two-stage procedure gives unbiased estimators or predictors of the linear combinations provided the data vector is symmetrically distributed about its expected value and provided the variance component estimators are translation-invariant and are even functions of the data vector. The standard procedures for estimating the variance components yield even, translation-invariant estimators.  相似文献

At one site and year often numerous variety trials are performed. Sometimes these trials only have a small number of control varieties in common. It is possible to obtain best linear unbiased estimators (BLUEs) of estimable linear combinations of the variety parameters without analysing the joint observations of all trials as a whole. The unbiased local estimator of the contrast between the parameter of a new variety and the average of the parameters of the control varieties, calculated at a single trial, can be improved to the BLUE with information from the other trials. This improvement represents a contrast of contrasts between control variety parameters at the various trials. In some situations the local estimator is already the BLUE, e.g. if only one control variety is used or in case of variance-balanced designs.  相似文献

In this article, we consider the variable selection and estimation for high-dimensional generalized linear models when the number of parameters diverges with the sample size. We propose a penalized quasi-likelihood function with the bridge penalty. The consistency and the Oracle property of the quasi-likelihood bridge estimators are obtained. Some simulations and a real data analysis are given to illustrate the performance of the proposed method.  相似文献

Brief Abstract

This article focuses on estimation of multivariate simple linear profiles. While outliers may hamper the expected performance of the ordinary regression estimators, this study resorts to robust estimators as the remedy of the estimation problem in presence of contaminated observations. More specifically, three robust estimators M, S and MM are employed. Extensive simulation runs show that in the absence of outliers or for small amount of contamination, the robust methods perform as well as the classical least square method, while for medium and large amounts of contamination the proposed estimators perform considerably better than classical method.  相似文献

We consider the testing problems of the structural parameters for the multivariate linear functional relationship model. We treat the likelihood ratio test statistics and the test statistics based on the asymptotic distributions of the maximum likelihood estimators. We derive their asymptotic distributions under each null hypothesis respectively. A simulation study is made to evaluate how we can trust our asymptotic results when the sample size is rather small.  相似文献

We present some unbiased estimators at the population mean in a finite population sample surveys with simple random sampling design where information on an auxiliary variance x positively correlated with the main variate y is available. Exact variance and unbiased estimate of the variance are computed for any sample size. These estimators are compared for their precision with the mean per unit and the ratio estimators. Modifications of the estimators are suggested to make them more precise than the mean per unit estimator or the ratio estimator regardless of the value of the population correlation coefficient between the variates x and y. Asymptotic distribution of our estimators and confidnece intervals for the population mean are also obtained.  相似文献

As an alternative to an estimation based on a simple random sample (BLUE-SRS) for the simple linear regression model, Moussa-Hamouda and Leone [E. Moussa-Hamouda and F.C. Leone, The o-blue estimators for complete and censored samples in linear regression, Technometrics, 16 (3) (1974), pp. 441–446.] discussed the best linear unbiased estimators based on order statistics (BLUE-OS), and showed that BLUE-OS is more efficient than BLUE-SRS for normal data. Using the ranked set sampling, Barreto and Barnett [M.C.M. Barreto and V. Barnett, Best linear unbiased estimators for the simple linear regression model using ranked set sampling. Environ. Ecoll. Stat. 6 (1999), pp. 119–133.] derived the best linear unbiased estimators (BLUE-RSS) for simple linear regression model and showed that BLUE-RSS is more efficient for the estimation of the regression parameters (intercept and slope) than BLUE-SRS for normal data, but not so for the estimation of the residual standard deviation in the case of small sample size. As an alternative to RSS, this paper considers the best linear unbiased estimators based on order statistics from a ranked set sample (BLUE-ORSS) and shows that BLUE-ORSS is uniformly more efficient than BLUE-RSS and BLUE-OS for normal data.  相似文献

Sugden and Smith [2002. Exact linear unbiased estimation in survey sampling. J. Stat. Plann. Inf. 102, 25–38] and Rao [2002. Discussion of “Exact linear unbiased estimation in survey sampling”. J. Stat. Plann. Inf. 102, 39–40] suggested some useful techniques of deriving a linear unbiased estimator of a finite population total by modifying a given linear estimator. In this paper we suggest various generalizations of their results. In particular, we search for estimators satisfying the calibration property with respect to a related auxiliary variable and obtain some new calibrated unbiased ratio-type estimators for arbitrary sampling designs. We also explore a few properties of one of the estimators suggested in Sugden and Smith [2002. Exact linear unbiased estimation in survey sampling. J. Stat. Plann. Inf. 102, 25–38].  相似文献

We consider the problem of estimating the coefficient vector β of a linear regression model with quadratic loss function. Some biased estimators which utilize the prior information about β are considered. Also studied is the problem of estimating the parameters of an over-identified structural equation from undersized samples.  相似文献

This work deals with estimating the vector of means of certain characteristics of small areas. In this context, a unit level multivariate model with correlated sampling errors is considered. An approximation is obtained for the mean-squared and cross-product errors of the empirical best linear unbiased predictors of the means, when model parameters are estimated either by maximum likelihood (ML) or by restricted ML. This approach has been implemented on a Monte Carlo study using social and labour data from the Spanish Labour Force Survey.  相似文献
