《北京爱情故事》

Beijing Love Story is a spin-off of the massively popular 2012 Chinese TV series of the same title. The film presents a complex series of intertwined love stories in China＇s capital. Chert Sicheng, who wrote and directed the fihn （and directed the TV series）, also costars in the film with his wife, Tong Liya. （They married in January.）

Abdulla Shahid,President of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly,visited China in late November 2021.During his visit,he participated in a virtual meeting with the All-China Women’s Federation(ACWF).The theme of the meeting was“Women’s Roles in Anti-Pandemic Efforts and Post-Pandemic Recovery.”Several outstanding women who participated in the fight against novel coronavirus disease(COVID-19)and the post-pandemic recovery were invited to share their stories with Shahid.

Modern Industrialist Zhang Jian Advocated Women's Vocational Education

IN 1914, China's modern industrialist Zhang Jian used his own money to set up The Nantong Women's Training School in Jiangsu Province. This school specialized in teaching embroidery, one of the more than 20 specialities taught in the vocational schools he set up. By looking at the way the school was established, and its curriculum, we can get a glimpse of Zhang Jian's concept for vocational education. He thougbt it was important to train women to be knowledgeable and skillful workers.

Spiral Shell Collection

In 1988 Zheng Haigen, a seaman with the Towboat Company of the Shanghai Salvage Bureau, began collecting spiral shells. Today he has more than 600 in his collection. The most valuable are the rare parrot shell and a shell whose spirals wind counter-clockwise. In 1991 a miniature conch with a diameter of 0.31 millimeters that he found buried in tons of sand made the Guinness Book of World Records.     

A Love Story

LI Zhijun, a platoon leader, was injuredand became blind when he led hismen to remove an unfired gun in1981. Wang Ping was his then fiancee. LiZhijun was in a dilemma-if he told her hehad lost his sight, he was afraid that it woulddevastate her; if not, how long could heconceal the truth? After several days of mentaltorture, he decided to tell her the truth and toask her to leave him.

After a brief hesitation, I grasped his small, warm, thin hand .From Director Yang who was at my side I knew his name was Du Xin and that he was eight years old. Then I found that part of his forehead obviously protruded and his eyes slanted to both sides. He drew me lightly to him and pointed to a photograph on the wall behind us. In it Du Xin was playing the piano and sitting in a man's arms. When I said "Nice sound," he also said "nice sound." Then he drew me to a corner lit by a colored revolving light. When I said, "How beautiful!" he clapped his hands happily.

Guan Weixing was born in 1940 in a small village in the Changbai Mountains of Northeast China. He graduated from the school attached to the Lu Xun Fine Arts Institute and in 1959 enrolled in the institute's Department of Oil Painting. In 1960. as an exception, he was admitted to an oil painting training class under a famous Romanian professor and completed his studies as a
