A CSP-C continuous sampling plan is a new single-level continuous sampling procedure developed by Govindaraju & Kandasamy (2000) by incorporating the concept of acceptance number to the CSP-1 plan for the application of continuous production processes. In this new plan, the sampling inspection phase is characterized by a maximum allowable number of non-conforming units, c, and a constant sampling rate, f. Govindaraju & Kandasamy (2000) derived the performance measures such as average outgoing quality (AOQ), average fraction inspected (AFI) etc, of the CSP-C plan using a Markov chain model for long run production processes. Yang (1983) has observed that the AOQ and AFI, being long run average measures, are not satisfactory measures of performance for short run production processes. Hence, formulas are derived in this paper, using the renewal theory approach enabling one to compute AOQ and AFI for both long run and short run production processes. Numerical illustrations are also given. By simulation, the accuracy of the short run measures is studied.  相似文献

In this paper, the concept acceptance number has been incorporated to the single level continuous sampling plan CSP-1. The advantage of the proposed plan, designated as the CSP-C plan, is to achieve a reduction in the average fraction inspected at good quality levels. Nomographs for the design of the proposed plan are presented. The expressions of the performance measures for this new plan such as OC, AOQ and AFI are also provided.  相似文献

For production processes involving low fraction non-conforming, the sample sizes of the usual attribute inspection plans are very large. A continuous sampling plan for such processes would also require either a large clearance interval or a large sampling fraction. This paper simplifies the approach of combining the lot by lot and continuous sampling plans recommended by Pesotchinsky (1987) and provides various performance measures for the combined plan. Various continuous sampling plans have been proposed for monitoring the quality of continuous production processes. The multi-level continuous sampling plan of MIL-STD-1235C (1988) is designated as CSP-T Plan. CSP-T plan is a three-level tightened continuous sampling plan. It requires a switch to 100% inspection, at any level, whenever a nonconforming unit is found. This provides quick rectification in the event of a shift in quality. In this paper certain performance characteristics of CSP-T plan are derived using the approach of Stephens (1979) under the assumption that the production process is in statistical control. For the selection of CSP-T plans, two tables are given. These tables can be used to obtain parameters i (clearance interval) and f (sampling fraction) of the CSP-T plan for given acceptable quality level (AQL) with producer’ risk α=0.05 or the limiting quality level(LQL) with consumer’ risk β=0.10 and the outgoing quality limit(AOQL). A common approach to the design of an acceptance sampling plan is to require that the operating characteristic (OC) curve should pass through two designated points that would fix the curve in accordance with a desired degree of discrimination. This paper presents a search procedure for the selection of double sampling inspection plans of type DSP - (0, 1) for specified two points on the OC curve, namely acceptance quality limit, producer's risk, limiting quality and consumer's risk. Selection of the plans is discussed for both the cases of fraction non-conforming and the number of non-conformities per unit.  相似文献

This paper presents a system of skip-lot sampling inspection plans designated as SkSP-3 based on the principle of a continuous sampling plan of type CSP-2. Expressions for performance measures such as Operating Characteristic function and ASN function are derived by the Markov chain approach. In this paper, a modification is proposed on the tightened two-level continuous sampling plan. The tightened two-level plan is one of the three tightened multi-level continuous sampling plans of Derman et al. (1957) with two sampling levels. A modified tightened two-level continuous sampling plan is considered, for which the rules concerning partial inspection depend, in part, on the length of time it takes to decide that the process quality is good enough that 100% inspection may be suspended (e.g. the time required to find i consecutive items free of defects). Using a Markov chain model, expressions for the performance measures of the modified MLP-T-2 plan are derived. The modified MLP-T-2 plan is shown to be identical to the MLP-T-2 plan. Tables are also presented for the selection of the modified MLP-T-2 plan when the AQL or LQL and AOQL are specified.  相似文献

In this article the outgoing quality and the total inspection for the chain sampling plan ChSP-4(c 1, c 2) are introduced as well-defined random variables. The probability distributions of outgoing quality and total inspection are stated based on total rectification of non conforming units. The variances of these random variables are studied. The aim of this article is to develop procedures for minimum variance ChSP-4(c 1, c 2) sampling plans and their determination. In addition to minimum variance sampling plans, a procedure is developed for designing plans with a designated maximum variance, a VOQL (Variance of Outgoing Quality Limit) plan. The VOQL concept is analogous to the AOQL (Average Outgoing Quality Limit) except in the VOQL plan, it is the maximum variance which is established instead of the usual maximum AOQ.  相似文献

The article explores the problem of an economically based type I continuous sampling plan (CSP-1 plan) under linear inspection cost. By assuming that the per unit inspection cost is linearly proportional to the average number of inspections per inspection cycle, and by solving the modified Cassady et al.'s model, we not only have the required level of product quality but also obtain the minimum total expected cost per unit produced.  相似文献

The design of a sampling inspection plan is usually based on the properties of the operating characteristic curve. This approach ensures that the plan has adequate power to discriminate a lot of acceptable quality from a lot rejectable quality. However, the designed plan need not necessarily have adequate predictive power when the sentenced lot is re-inspected using the same sampling plan. The paper introduces a new design approach for the single sampling attributes plan ensuring the decision of acceptance or rejection is consistent for both current and any future inspection of the lot. The proposed design controls the risks of a future sample leading to a contradictory decision of acceptance or rejection of the lot. An increase in sample size is required to achieve the required predictive power if the true lot quality fails to be at very low fraction non-conforming levels. Pulak and Al-Sultan presented a rectifying inspection plan applying in the determination of optimum process mean. However, they did not point out whether the non-conforming items in the sample of accepted lot are replaced or eliminated from the lot and neglected the quality loss within specification limits. In this paper, we further propose the modified Pulak and Al-Sultan model with quadratic quality loss function. There are four cases considered in the modified model: (1) the non-conforming items in the sample of accepted lot are neither replaced nor eliminated from the lot; (2) the non-conforming items in the sample of accepted lot are not replaced but are eliminated from the lot; (3) the non-conforming items in the sample of accepted lot are replaced by conforming ones; (4) the non-conforming items in the sample of accepted lot are replaced by non-inspected items. The numerical results and sensitivity analysis of parameters show that their solutions are slightly different.  相似文献

The skip-lot sampling plans are widely used in industries for quality inspection of products in order to reduce the sampling costs and inspection efforts when products have good quality history. Also, the skip-lot sampling plan concept is sound and useful and it is economically advantageous to use the skip-lot approach in the design of sampling plans. Thus, the skip-lot sampling plans are useful to minimize the cost of the inspection particularly in costly and destructive testing. Hence, a new system of skip-lot sampling plans designated as SkSP-2-R plan is developed in this article by incorporating the idea of resampling procedure in the skip-lot sampling plans of type SkSP-2. A Markov chain formulation and derivation of performance measures for this new plan are presented. The properties and advantages of the SkSP-2-R plan are studied with single sampling plan as the reference plan. The response-to-change characteristics of the SkSP-2-R plan are also investigated, based on the average run length.  相似文献

This article proposes a variables sampling plan that can be applied for sampling inspection of resubmitted lots when the quality characteristic of interest follows the normal distribution. Resubmission of lots for inspection is allowed in some situations where the original inspection results are suspected or when the supplier or producer is allowed to opt for resampling as per the provisions of the contract, etc. The advantages of this proposed variables sampling plan over the existing single sampling variables plan are discussed. Tables are also constructed for the selection of optimal parameters of known and unknown standard deviation variables resampling scheme for specified two points on the operating characteristic curve, namely, the acceptable quality level and the limiting quality level along with the producer and consumer's risks. The optimization problem is formulated as a nonlinear programming where the objective function to be minimized is the average sample number and the constraints are related to lot acceptance probabilities at acceptable quality level and limiting quality level under the operating characteristic curve.  相似文献

Single sampling plans are widely used for appraising incoming product quality. However, for situations where a continuous product flow exists, lot-by-lot demarcations may not exist, and it may be necessary to use alternate procedures, such as CSP-1, for continuous processes. In this case, one would like to be able to understand how average performance of the continuous sampling procedures compares to the more commonly used single sampling plans.

In this study, a model is devised which can be used to relate plan performance between single sample lot acceptance procedures and Dodge's(1943) CSP-1 continuous sampling plan. It is shown that it is generally not possible to match up performance based upon operating characteristic curve expressions for the two plans. Instead, the plans are matched by equating expressions for π(p), the long run proportion of product which is accepted, under both procedures. This is shown to be equivalent to matching up properties on an average outgoing quality basis. The methodology may be extended for any derivative plan under MIL-STD-1235B (1982), the military standard for continuous acceptance sampling.  相似文献

In this paper, a variables tightened-normal-tightened (TNT) two-plan sampling system based on the widely used capability index Cpk is developed for product acceptance determination when the quality characteristic of products has two-sided specification limits and follows a normal distribution. The operating procedure and operating characteristic (OC) function of the variables TNT two-plan sampling system, and the conditions for solving plan parameters are provided. In this article, we propose a new mixed chain sampling plan based on the process capability index Cpk, where the quality characteristic of interest having double specification limits and follows the normal distribution with unknown mean and variance. In the proposed mixed plan, the chain sampling inspection plan is used for the inspection of attribute quality characteristics. The advantages of this proposed mixed sampling plan are also discussed. Tables are constructed to determine the optimal parameters for practical applications by formulating the problem as a non linear programming in which the objective function to be minimized is the average sample number and the constraints are related to lot acceptance probabilities at acceptable quality level and limiting quality level under the operating characteristic curve. The practical application of the proposed mixed sampling plan is explained with an illustrative example. MIL-STD-1235C establishes standard procedures for the selection and implementation of single- and multi-level continuous sampling plans, such as CSP-1, CSP-F, CSP-2, CSP-T and CSP-V. CSP-V is a single-level continuous sampling procedure which provides for alternating sequences of 100%inspection (either at full or reduced clearance number) and sampling inspection. It requires a return to 100% inspection whenever a non-confirming unit is found during sampling inspection, but provides for a reduced clearance number upon demonstration of superior product quality. The CSP-V procedure serves as an alternative to the CSP-T procedure where a reduction in sampling frequency has no economic merit. In this paper, expressions for the average outgoing quality, the average fraction inspected and the operating characteristic function are derived using a Markov chain model. Four tables are given to enable the selection of CSP-V plans when the acceptable quality level or the limiting quality level and the
