Summary Some people seek social work help with problems that have arisenin their relationships with others to whom they are very closeand by whom they feel betrayed, attacked or maltreated. Often,so great are the distress and force with which the problem isbrought, the social worker may find himself drawn to acceptas substantially accurate the client's view of the situationand to act accordingly. This article argues that such a lineof action may be misguided or even harmful, and that help canonly be effective in the situations described if it has as oneof its basic assumptions the notion that the picture conveyedof 'the absent third person' has more connection with the client'sown inner needs than with anyone else

The scholars who teach in universities and other higher schools are always concerned for the future: that is a function of their profession. To a considerable degree, their work is for the future. This is all the more true in our day, when the already major role of institutions of higher learning in the advancement of science, technology, production, and culture is rising at amazingly rapid rates. One of the most critical periods in the life of an educational institution occurs when it accepts people for admission. The quality of the specialists it trains is largely dependent upon the abilities of the new students it admits. The scholarly value of a lecture or seminar is determined, after all, not only by who is on the rostrum, but by who is in the audience.

知识分子与政治

由于道德主义的困扰和内在连贯的分析框架的缺乏,知识分子社会学在学科传统内一直处于边缘化的窘境。目前,对“知识分子”主流定义的本体性假设正在受到质疑,而知识分子作为一种边界划分的过程和后果以及有关知识分子的阶级性等问题开始受到关注。在关于知识分子社会角色定性的问题上存在着教化与颠覆这两种不同的基本立场;而关于其意识来源,传统的研究结论则可以被归纳为经济决定论、社会决定论、场域塑造论与参照群体论。近十年来,新一轮思想社会学的兴起对传统范式构成了一系列挑战。本文认为,作为一种回应,通过将知识分子的政治意识由自变量重构为因变量,有望在知识分子研究领域形成一场以分析社会学为导向的变革,而知识场域、惯习、自我概念、亚文化认同与知识轨迹等概念可以帮助我们提出一个初步的政治认识论框架。


毛姆是英国文学史上一位具有世界性声誉,同时备受评论界争议的风格独特的作家.现有的文学史著作或是将其列入现实主义阵营,或是列入自然主义行列,但毛姆在文化价值观上一直处于两栖状态,这也致使他在人生观、哲学观和创作观上都表现出非此非彼的双重特性,同时,他的作品形式和风格兼具现实主义和现代主义的双重特色.<教堂司事>是毛姆众多短篇小说中少有人问津的一篇,但其中所包含的非此非彼,亦此亦彼的两重性特征很好地诠释了毛姆不同于同时代其他作家的独特之处,及其在文学史上所发挥的现实主义的"余脉"和现代主义的"先兆"的特殊的双重功能.     

The Family and the Internet: The Israeli Case*

Objective. The goal of this study was to explore the relationship between Internet connection and frequency of adolescents' daily use and family time and the perceived quality of relations between adolescents and their parents. Methods. Data from the 2000 National Youth Survey conducted in Israel by the Minerva Center for Youth Studies were used. Results. The findings show that frequency of Internet use is negatively related to adolescents' perception of the quality of family relationships. This negative relationship is not explained by a reduction of the time that parents and adolescents' share. Conclusions. It is possible that high frequency of Internet use by adolescents, particularly when it is not being used for learning purposes, creates intergenerational conflicts. This possibility should be explored in future studies.

道教作为我国本土产生的源远流长的古老宗教,教义的出现历史悠久,既有道教教团出现以前先哲的著述,更多的则是道教教团创立后的著作。道教教义与道教教派的承传关系密切,对道教承传有严格的规范的作用。道教与我国现今社会相适应的内容有多方面,其中最重要者有两点:一,发掘、继承并发扬道教教义中优秀的民族文化精神;二,道教信仰者应精研道教教义,严格恪守教义,积极参与当代社会生活,使更多的人了解道教,认识道教。

西魏、北周、隋之所以扶植江陵后梁政权 ,根本原因是在南北对峙的军事、政治形势下 ,实施中间地带战略的需要。后梁力量弱小 ,且处于中间地带之上 ,不得不做北朝政权政治、军事的附庸。南朝失江陵 ,最后丧失了长江中游的中间地带军事防御能力 ,决定了其灭亡的命运     

The once and future crisis

The insurance crisis of the mid-1980s produced a number of legal and public policy reactions. Although many of the immediate symptoms of that crisis have disappeared, a number of its underlying causes remain. This article analyzes the continuing effect of these factors on the insurance markets, and predicts the occurrence of a milder crisis during the mid-1990s.

The article outlines the basic directions of government policy that will be needed to revive and sustain the development of agroindustrial production, completely return the Russian peasantry to the land, and restore their faith in the government.
