In this paper, we present an aggregate production planning (APP) model applied to a Portuguese firm that produces construction materials. A multiple criteria mixed integer linear programming (MCMILP) model is developed with the following performance criteria: (1) maximize profit, (2) minimize late orders, and (3) minimize work force level changes. It includes certain operational features such as partial inflexibility of the work force, legal restrictions on workload, work force size (workers to be hired and downsized), workers in training, and production and inventory capacity. The purpose is to determine the number of workers for each worker type, the number of overtime hours, the inventory level for each product category, and the level of subcontracting in order to meet the forecasted demand for a planning period of 12 months. Additionally, a decision support system (DSS) based on the MCMILP model is proposed. It will help practitioners find the “best” solution for an APP problem without having to familiarize themselves with the mathematical complexities associated with the model. An example to illustrate the use of the DSS is also included.  相似文献

The main purpose is to identify pitfalls in the usage of various approaches, and to suggest approaches which are most robustly and effectively useable, especially by the non-expert in MCDM methodology. This paper considers the application of methodology for the multivariant design and multiple criteria analysis of the life cycle of a building. The theoretical basis of the methodology is developed. A proposed methodology allows everyone (i.e. client, investor, contractor, etc.), who has to make the decisions, to design alternatives of the building life cycle and to evaluate its qualitative and quantitative aspects. This approach, in which various criteria can be employed, is intended to support the decision making on a building's life cycle selection and increase the efficiency of the resolution process. The procedure of the evaluating of a building's life cycle is discussed using an example.  相似文献

Screening is a process of multiple-criteria decision aid (MCDA) in which a large set of alternatives is reduced to a smaller set that most likely contains the best choice. We propose screening using a distance model calibrated on the basis of the decision-maker's own judgement. Viewing MCDA as preference aggregation based on consequence data, we define consequence and preference expressions (values and weights) and describe how they are aggregated. Then we define screening and explain some of its properties. Using an appropriate definition of distance, our case-based distance method screens a set of alternatives using criterion weights and a distance threshold obtained by quadratic optimization using the decision-maker's selection of alternatives from a test set. This case-based method can elicit the decision maker's preferences more expeditiously and accurately than direct inquiry. An application in water supply planning is used to demonstrate the procedure.  相似文献

The multiple criteria ABC analysis is widely used in inventory management, and it can help organizations to assign inventory items into different classes with respect to several evaluation criteria. Many approaches have been proposed in the literature for addressing such a problem. However, most of these approaches are fully compensatory in multiple criteria aggregation. This means that an item scoring badly on one or more key criteria could be placed in good classes because these bad performances could be compensated by other criteria. Thus, it is necessary to consider the non-compensation in the multiple criteria ABC analysis. To the best of our knowledge, the ABC classification problem with non-compensation among criteria has not been studied sufficiently. We thus propose a new classification approach based on the outranking model to cope with such a problem in this paper. However, the relational nature of the outranking model makes the search for the optimal classification solution a complex combinatorial optimization problem. It is very time-consuming to solve such a problem using mathematical programming techniques when the inventory size is large. Therefore, we combine the clustering analysis and the simulated annealing algorithm to search for the optimal classification. The clustering analysis groups similar inventory items together and builds up the hierarchy of clusters of items. The simulated annealing algorithm searches for the optimal classification on different levels of the hierarchy. The proposed approach is illustrated by a practical example from a Chinese manufacturer. Furthermore, we validate the performance of the approach through experimental investigation on a large set of artificially generated data at the end of the paper.  相似文献

The ELECTRE (ELimination Et Choix Traduisant la REalité, in French) is an effective multiple criteria decision making method based on comparative analysis. Among the family of the ELECTRE methods and their extensions, the ELECTRE III is widely used since it can tackle uncertain and imprecise information. The hesitant fuzzy linguistic term set can represent people's perceptions more comprehensively and flexibly than exact numbers especially in cognitive complex decision-making process. In this paper, we develop an integrated method based on the ELECTRE III to handle the cognitive complex multiple experts multiple criteria decision making problems in which the cognitive complex information is represented by hesitant fuzzy linguistic term sets and the outranking relations between alternatives are calculated by a novel score-function-based distance measure between hesitant fuzzy linguistic elements. A combinative weight-determining method involving both subjective and objective opinions of experts is introduced to derive the weights of criteria. After obtaining the ranking of alternatives from each experts’ decision matrix by the distillation algorithm, the weighted Borda rule is implemented to aggregate the rankings of alternatives regarding different experts. Some ordinal consensus measures are introduced to identify the reliability of the final ranking result. An application of hospital ranking in China is provided to validate the efficiency of the proposed method.  相似文献

The paper deals with two important issues of Multiple Criteria Decision Aiding: interaction between criteria and hierarchical structure of criteria. To handle interactions, we apply the Choquet integral as a preference model, and to handle the hierarchy of criteria, we apply the recently proposed methodology called Multiple Criteria Hierarchy Process. In addition to dealing with the above issues, we suppose that the preference information provided by the Decision Maker is indirect and has the form of pairwise comparisons of criteria with respect to their importance and pairwise preference comparisons of some pairs of alternatives with respect to some criteria. In consequence, many instances of the Choquet integral are usually compatible with this preference information. These instances are identified and exploited by Robust Ordinal Regression and Stochastic Multiobjective Acceptability Analysis. To illustrate the whole approach, we show its application to a real world decision problem concerning the ranking of universities for a hypothetical Decision Maker.  相似文献

Rush orders are immediate customer demands that exceed the expectation of a currently effective MPS (master production schedule). Decision-makers are often hesitant in the decision of accepting such orders. This paper presents a multiple criteria decision-making model for justifying the acceptance of rush orders for an assembly-to-order production system. Four criteria or production objectives are simultaneously considered and a multiple objective programming technique, the e-constraints approach, is adopted to solve the decision-making problem. This model could give the cost estimation for producing a rush order under various combinations of production objectives. The computed cost value could serve as a valuable reference for justifying the economics of accepting the rush order, and help to determine its pricing strategy.  相似文献

Abstract

The construction of sports facilities widened drastically as the number of sport events gradually increased during the last two decades in the global environment. The requirements of International Federations to host these sports events impact the construction of these facilities. Construction complexity, budget and time constraints and pressure from the project stakeholders play an important role on delivery time of such facilities. The aim of this paper is to identify and evaluate the most significant delay factors that affecting the delivery of sport projects worldwide. From previous literatures and one-to-one meetings with technical experts, a list of 37 delays attributes were identified. These factors were categorised in 8 groups and distributed through an online questionnaire portal to sport facility professionals. 101 completed responses were collected and analysed through different ranking approaches and multi criteria decision making methods (Relative Importance Index (RII), Spearman’s Rank Correlation, T-Test and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). The analysis of AHP concluded that “low level of consultant experience”, “low level of contractor experience”, “shortage of construction materials” and “difficulties in financing the project by contractor” were the most critical delay factors, while “delays related to contractor capabilities” was the most critical delay group. The value of this paper is to provide the industry professionals with the most significant delay factors in construction of sports facilities to take proper managerial actions to reduce delays.  相似文献

One of the major challenges for the implementation of local energy planning is the successful development of a Sustainable Energy Action Plan (SEAP) by the local authorities (especially within the framework of their participation to the Covenant of Mayors’ initiative). This aspect constitutes a decision making problem, since the local authorities have to identify the best fields of actions and opportunities for reaching their long-term CO2 reduction target. However, the already available methods and tools do not offer an integrated framework for the SEAPs’ development and especially the selection of sustainable Renewable Energy Sources (RES) and Rational Use of Energy (RUE) technologies. In this context, the aim of this paper is to present a participatory supportive framework for the implementation of local energy planning. At the first level, the proposed approach incorporates the development of alternative Scenarios of Actions (using knowledge-based process, participatory approach and aspiration level). At the second level, a direct and transparent multicriteria decision support is introduced, in order to evaluate the feasible Scenarios. It includes the application of a multicriteria ordinal regression approach and an extreme ranking analysis method for the estimation of the best and worst possible ranking position of each Scenario. The results from the pilot appraisal of the methodological approach to a “real” problem are presented and discussed. The adopted approach contributes to the selection of the most appropriate combination of RES/RUE actions, supporting in this way the local authorities to the development of their SEAP.  相似文献

This paper deals with preference modeling. It concerns the concepts of discriminating thresholds as a tool to cope with the imperfect nature of knowledge in decision aiding. Such imperfect knowledge is related with the definition of each criterion as well as with the data we have to take into account. On the one hand, we shall present a useful theoretical synthesis for the analyst in his/her decision aiding activity, and, on the other hand, we shall provide some practical instructions concerning the approach to follow for assigning the values to these discriminating thresholds.  相似文献

以中国上海证券交易所从债券价格导出的0.5年期利率的周度数据为分析对象,使用SNP法,估计出短期利率的条件密度函数,发现其条件分布具有明显的异方差性和非正态性.然后利用EMM法实证分析了常用的连续时间的单因子和两因子短期利率模型.单因子短期利率模型包括Vasicek模型,CIR模型,CKLS模型等,两因子利率模型包括Gallant,Tanchen给出的随机波动率模型和Balduzzi等人的随机均值回复模型.实证结果表明所有的单因子短期利率模型都不能很好地描述中国上海证券交易所债券市场上的短期利率变化,CKLS模型是它们中表现最好的单因子利率模型.随机均值回复模型也不能描述短期利率的变化,只有随机波动率模型可以描述上海证券交易所的短期利率的变化.  相似文献

This study proposes an integrated analytical framework for effective management of project risks using combined multiple criteria decision-making technique and decision tree analysis. First, a conceptual risk management model was developed through thorough literature review. The model was then applied through action research on a petroleum oil refinery construction project in the Central part of India in order to demonstrate its effectiveness. Oil refinery construction projects are risky because of technical complexity, resource unavailability, involvement of many stakeholders and strict environmental requirements. Although project risk management has been researched extensively, practical and easily adoptable framework is missing. In the proposed framework, risks are identified using cause and effect diagram, analysed using the analytic hierarchy process and responses are developed using the risk map. Additionally, decision tree analysis allows modelling various options for risk response development and optimises selection of risk mitigating strategy. The proposed risk management framework could be easily adopted and applied in any project and integrated with other project management knowledge areas.  相似文献

We address an inventory rationing problem in a lost sales make‐to‐stock (MTS) production system with batch ordering and multiple demand classes. Each production order contains a single batch of a fixed lot size and the processing time of each batch is random. Assuming that there is at most one order outstanding at any point in time, we first address the case with the general production time distribution. We show that the optimal order policy is characterized by a reorder point and the optimal rationing policy is characterized by time‐dependent rationing levels. We then approximate the production time distribution with a phase‐type distribution and show that the optimal policy can be characterized by a reorder point and state‐dependent rationing levels. Using the Erlang production time distribution, we generalize the model to a tandem MTS system in which there may be multiple outstanding orders. We introduce a state‐transformation approach to perform the structural analysis and show that both the reorder point and rationing levels are state dependent. We show the monotonicity of the optimal reorder point and rationing levels for the outstanding orders, and generate new theoretical and managerial insights from the research findings.  相似文献

Summary  This paper addresses the problem of portfolio selection in finance. In many cases, currently available software to compute the efficient frontier runs into difficulty in problems with more than about 600 securities. To proceed beyond this size, it is often necessary to modify the problem in which case there is typically a loss of information. In this paper, we discuss a computer capability that can exactly compute mean-variance efficient frontiers of problems with up to 2,000 securities in very reasonable time (even if a problem’s covariance matrix is 100% dense). The paper also discusses an augmentation to the theory of portfolio selection that allows multiple objectives (such as dividends, liquidity, social responsibility, amount invested in R&D, and so forth) to be incorporated into the portfolio selection process. In such problems, the efficient set is no longer a “frontier,” but is now best described as a “surface” with the interesting property that it is composed of platelets (like on the back of a turtle). Moreover, the computer capability that can compute the exact efficient frontier of a mean-variance problem with up to 2,000 securities also has, after additional coding, the ability to compute exactly all platelets of the efficient surface of a tri-criterion portfolio problem with up to 400 securities.
Zusammenfassung  In dieser Arbeit stellen wir einen leistungsf?higen Rechenalgorithmus vor, um den effizienten Rand (die nichtdominierten Alternativen) von Portfolio-Auswahlproblemen in der Finanzierung zu bestimmen. Wir bezeichnen den Berechnungsalgorithmus, der in Java programmiert ist, mit MPQ (multi-parametric quadratic programming). MPQ weist gegenüber bisherigen Berechnungsverfahren eine Reihe von Vorteilen auf: Es kann für umfangreiche Anwendungsf?lle genutzt werden, ist durch passable Rechenzeiten charakterisiert und kann die Menge effizienter Alternativen in einem Bruchteil bisher üblicher Rechenzeiten bestimmen.
